Die Leute fragen oft: 'Was meinte Dr. Montessori mit kosmischer Erziehung?' Susan Mayclin Stephenson hat mir nun eine einfache, aber fundierte Möglichkeit gegeben, diese Frage zu beantworten. Sie tut dies schon allein durch den Aufbau des Buchs. In der ersten Hälfte geht es um zentrale Aspekte der kindlichen Entwicklung in den verschiedenen Altersgruppen: Geburt bis 3, 3 bis 6 und 6 bis 12+ Jahre. Ich las weiter und fand meine Antwort auf "Kosmische Erziehung" für jede dieser Altersstufen. Die kosmische Erziehung ist ganz allgemein eine Hilfe dabei, dass Kinder einen Ort für sich selbst finden, an dem sie sich entwickeln und gleichzeitig die Welt zu einem besseren Ort machen können. Die Autorin geht sehr konkret auf die Beiträge jeder dieser Altersgruppen ein. Sie bietet eine Anleitung, vom Baby bis zum Jugendlichen Wege zu fördern, gute Beiträge für eine bessere Welt zu leisten. "Susan Mayclin Stephenson aborda un tema amplio, la educación cósmica, que Montessori definió como una "visión global y universal unificadora del pasado, presente y futuro". Each year it was the homeschooler's choice whether or not to continue down this path. The main teacher during these years had earned AMI 0-12 diplomas and had taught in Montessori schools for many years. Even though this is not an instruction manual for Montessori homeschooling it is helpful for parents and teachers wanting to understand the value of a unique educational path, rather than requiring children and young adults to be educated in a pre-decided curriculum (in either traditional and Montessori schools). Also it validates the ideas of growing children and young adults that their own individual talents and passions and choices are valid and can be respected.
