This read-aloud book is about Kadek, who is a little boy living on a remote island in the Indonesian archipelago with his family and other villagers. His life is very different from how children live in the United States, or any other more developed country, yet, his life is full of adventures. In this adventure he didn't pay much attention to his father who was trying to keep him safe, and he learned that his father is a very wise man. We also learn of the interesting traditions sometimes practiced in Indonesia. The illustrations keep true to the traditional dress of the villagers and authentically depict the huts and the way of life on the islands.
This book provides a brief yet informative evaluation of the variety and complexity of theatrical endeavours in the United States, embracing all epochs of theatre history and situating American theatre as a lively, dynamic and diverse arena.
