Trouble in MonartoMonarto is in the grip of a crimewave. The streets are ruled by crime bosses, Quido Spinoza and his spiteful nephew, Vincent Zendell. Into the frame comes Alex Jaeger, a retired Special Air Service soldier cum freelance thief, who just arrived to holiday in town when is mistaken for a hitman and targeted by Spinoza. On the morning of his first day in town he is attacked and in the confusion forced to abandon his suitcase full of ill-gotten loot from a previous job. It becomes his personal mission to even the score, in the process gaining the aid of a fringe dwelling social outcast biker, Took, and a drug dependent girl named Janie, struggling to free herself from addiction to the newly designed drug which is at the heart of the great conspiracy. In the process of the evening, the scoring trio discovers a global conspiracy in the planning, between international governments and a global crime boss, code name Cassandra. Amid a city under siege, as social unrest reaches a crescendo, it is the three social misfits versus organized crime. Putting personal safety aside, they risk it all to save society, in the process finding personal redemption and saving the world from the darkness it never sees coming.¿¿About The Author:T H O M A S J A M E S T A Y L O R, born Dec 1st, 1954. For Your Pleasure & Questionable BehaviourBook One, the treachery of poker machines, especially enchanted poker machines which will take far more than you ever expected unless you are wary. Our hapless protagonist lives a sad little life in a sad little town, but he has hopes for the future. The trickster machine knows exactly how to instill a little excitement into John's going-nowhere existence, and how to play him, too. Unfortunately for John, the price is way beyond what he can afford. Book Two, Morris is nobody's fool. His offsider, Spider, being not the sharpest knife in the drawer, looks to Morris for guidance and support. Unfortunately, the pair are into Eddie (Nails) Madden, would-be crime boss, for money owed for their drug supply. They are offered a means of working off their debt and freeing themselves from the master manipulator. The job entails disposing of a personal enemy of Eddies, but the reasons for the killing are entirely misleading, covering up the real reason for such vengeance being administered. But neither Morris nor Spider, when they find out the truth, are prepared to carry out the assignment. A measure of cunning is required to make it appear as if the job has been done, freeing them of their financial burden. In the process, Spider and Morris find it within themselves to turn over a new leaf and to re-join society as improved human beings.About The Author:T H O M A S J A M E S T A Y L O R, born Dec 1st, 1954. TROUBLE IN MONARTO - REVENANCE: Unfinished BusinessIn the first book, Trouble In Monarto, arch villain Cassandra was able to escape justice. This fact had long annoyed Alex Jaeger and friends, who had foiled Cassandra's evil design, but there now appears a second chance to settle the score when Spinoza's niece comes to Alex, now working as a private detective, with a threatening note which had been slipped under her hotel room door.Throughout this second adventure, while seeking final justice, Alex finds himself distracted by the fact that he is growing older, becoming more circumspect and realising that his hell-raising days might be over, necessarily giving way to a less self-serving and more fulfilling existence to become the husband and friend those around him deserve.¿¿About The Author:T H O M A S J A M E S T A Y L O R, born Dec 1st, 1954. Star-CrossedA young man returns to the place of his childhood, much changed for the time of being away. A young woman with her heart set on independence and running a successful small business lives with her parents and a hodgepodge of characters at the Welsh family-run Powell's Guest House. With a large skeleton in his closet, Daniel moves into the guest house trying to find peace and a fresh start in Port Moreton. Amber, despite trying so hard to succeed in her business ventures, finds vicious resistance within the small-town mindset of the community. There is immediate chemistry between the two, first negative, then passion, while Amber's parents, Ted and Beth, see positivity in the pairing after Amber suffered vicious rape years prior, which lay her low for too long. Within a backdrop of native Australian folklore, a tangled relationship begins to flourish. But demons and ghosts of the mind are determined to pull apart any chance of happiness for the star-crossed lovers. The best they can hope for, they see, is redemption, and weighed upon the cosmic scales of justice, it is what they finally achieve.Book review by Michael Radon US Review of Books"You're in love, you idiot," he said, stepping out of the water. "You can say goodbye to rational thought."After growing up in Port Moreton, Amber Powell knew she was destined for greater things. After going off to college, she finds herself estranged from small-town life and the subject of nasty rumors and animosity. Soon those rumors start to take on an ugly reality, and while Amber finds opportunities to make use of her business acumen, she remains a target among men nearby. Daniel Gilmour is a young man returning to the area where he grew up, boarding with Amber's parents in their guest house. A dark secret from his recent past clings to him, though nobody around him seems the wiser. These two young adults gravitate towards each other romantically in a world they both feel lost in amidst a local Aboriginal legend and a series of horrific murders that seem to involve them somehow.Thick with personal drama and tragic backstory, this is a book about the kind of melodrama that often accompanies the emotions of young love. In the case of this book, though, the stakes and circumstances surrounding Amber and Daniel are high enough to match their heightened emotional states. The incorporation of a native tale about a young member of a tribe who is destined to be alone forever ties neatly into the storytelling without being oppressively blunt. There is a fair amount of suspense that bubbles to the surface as the police, primarily a detective, work their way into the cast, and that rising action working in tandem with a budding romance gives this story great acceleration and intensity. Readers will find themselves hoping for a happy ending in what seems like a hopeless situation, becoming fully invested in this well-spun tale.¿¿The AuthorT H O M A S J A M E S T A Y L O R, born Dec 1st, 1954. About The BookTwo stories converge through the actions of Ulek, a novice necromancer, who must become a sanctioned member of The Order of the Dark Arts, or else be considered, by the order, an outlaw in possession of sacred knowledge, and to be hunted down and killed by a demon which is a creation of the Order. In the paralleling story, a hitman suffers injury on his way to fulfilling his contract with a secret Government cadre and is nursed back to health by the very man he was sent to kill. During his recovery, he comes to admire the man (his target) and to question his own worth as a human being, and the world which shaped him as he is.The two stories, separated by thousands of years, converge through the actions of the novice necromancer, who is trying to avoid a supernatural creature sent to kill him. On top of a six thousand feet high mesa common to both stories by their age, the two parties converge while both are caught in a battle for their survival.About The Author:T H O M A S J A M E S T A Y L O R, born Dec 1st, 1954. In 1970 the Labor-led South Australian government headed by Don Dunstan was concerned that Adelaide would become overpopulated. To decentralize government, population, and commerce, it was proposed that another city should be built east of Adelaide. They named it Monarto.Monarto was to become a new city that would work as a satellite city to Adelaide, and since it was far enough away, it was important that Monarto would have its own identity and economy. This made it difficult to define what kind of city Monarto was supposed to be.A fast-paced urban adventure through the streets a milieus of Monarto, a harborside metropolis where economic decline, government apathy, and social discontent are the prime ingredients of a city in trouble. Add to this a despotic crime boss intent on mischief on an international scale and a new and highly addictive substance being traded on the illicit drug market, and trouble edges ever closer to being a crisis. So what possible reason could an ex-special operations soldier turned professional thief have for tackling what a corrupt Australian government prefers to ignore, and what type of people have courage enough to take part in this crusade?

Small children frolic delightedly in the shallows as a languid shore break washes the white sands with an incoming tide. Parents and other adults stand, cooling themselves in the deeper water, or sit beneath brightly coloured beach umbrellas staring out across the blue-green gulf waters, occasionally marking the progress of a power boat speeding across the sparkling surface like a skipping stone; the slap of water against its hull and the resonating drone of twin outboards following, time-lagged and out of sync.Others seek shelter from the sun beneath the jetty, and there between the wooden pylons resembling some ancient, weathered colonnade laze contentedly in its shadow. Some engaged in idle conversation, perhaps of a domestic nature, a tidbit of gossip or news of an upcoming social event or repeat listlessly the rhetorical question so many others had asked during the past two weeks. How much longer can this heat last?
