The Freckle Report 2022, is the third in the series of reports on the progress of public libraries in the United States, the UK and AustraliaIt contains the most recently available data from national bodies and the fourth set of consumer research data, conducted in the United StatesIt draws conclusions about the state of decline of the use of public librariesIt makes detailed recommendations at several levels: for funding bodies, for library directors and managers, for suppliers and for the library profession. It shows how individual libraries can make use of the available published data to inform their own strategies for increasing library use.
Tim Coates' report on the management of public libraries in Great Britain attracted wide attention when it was first published in 2004 and has been used in many countries as a training manual and the focus for discussion

The British Army has rarely experienced a defeat of the kind that occurred in Afghanistan in January 1842. Provided here are extracts from the official government account of events between October 1841 and January 1842, along with excerpts from the diaries of Lieutenant Vincent Eyre and Lady Florentia Sale, both of whom were finally released in September 1842 - after eight months of being moved around the region in fear of their lives.
