This is the second book of a 4 part series on a California vacation from August of 2013. The resulting series is the combined effort of a whole family exploring and enjoying all that the majestic state has to offer in both expression and photography. These books would stand well ontheir own without the family pictures as a simple travel photo book, but the addition of actual family pictures adds the expression and warmth of a real family vacation.The cities are filled with a beauty and vitality all their own that one cannot find or express without images of people andthe things they create in their environment.

This book is dedicated to all the families of the world, but especially to those who cannot indulge themselves in a family vacation due to reasons of more pressing financial obligations, social standing or political situations. I grew up in such a family where vacations were only dreams that clashed against the reality of working and striving just to make ends meet. We must all try to realize that the ability to go on a vacation is not a natural right but a priviIege that not all families of the world can share and enjoy. We complain, worry and regret many things that we have done or have not been able to do in our llives, but in the end, we should only be thankful for the many opportunities we have been handed and try to help those of this world who have not had the chances nor the resources that we have been given but can only hope to survive another day and be left in some peaceful place they can call their home.

The state of America may be in question, but the last state of America is unquestionably beautiful. Maui is probably the best know island and contains the vacation resorts and activities that vacationers flock to. It has mountains, beaches, incredible surf, flowers, boats and palm trees. There are also waterfalls, volcanoes and unforgettable sunsets.
