This volume contains the Dank-Hymne der Freundschaft (Hymn of Thanks for Friendship), a "Geburtstags-Cantate" (birthday cantata) by C.P.E. Bach, written in 1785. The cantata incorporates the composer's double-choir Heilig, Wq 217.

C.P.E. Bach's last Passion (and last completed work) was performed in Lent 1789 in Hamburg.

C.P.E. Bach's fifth St. Matthew Passion was first performed in Hamburg during Lent 1785.

This volume is an offprint of the critical edition of C.P.E. Bach's oratorio Die Auferstehung und Himmelfahrt Jesu (The Resurrection and Ascension of Jesu), begun in Hamburg in 1777/78 and published in 1787. It includes Ramler's libretto with an English translation.
