The second scorching novel in the USA Today bestselling Cartel trilogy from the smash-hit author Lili St Germain. They say love conquers all. It's a lie. Five days a week, I dressed in smart business clothes. I painted my face, and went to work as an accountant. But nothing about my life was normal. For eight years I had been the property of the Gypsy Brothers Motorcycle Club. I laundered their money so well they'd never let me leave. My only glimmer of light was the man I loved. The man who had saved me. Dornan. His love had been the only thing that kept the demons at bay. But he'd become so immersed in the cartel's brutal business that I hardly knew him anymore. Dornan had been my salvation, but he was also my undoing. Would he pull me down into the darkness until he destroyed me? Could I save him? Did I even want to? 'The queen of dark romance has done it again. Brilliant, dark, and oh, so steamy' Recommended Romance

'This is a fresh, interesting and richly detailed account of the Armada campaign' - The New York Times A dramatic narrative account of the 1588 English victory over the Spanish Armada. Perfect for fans of John Barratt, N. A. M. Rodger, Ben Wilson and everyone interested in naval history. The overthrow of the Spanish Armada in 1588 has come down in history as one of England's 'finest hours'. A small, inadequately equipped fleet put to rout the mightiest naval force ever assembled; great squadrons of ships, drawn from all the provinces of the Spanish empire, were sent scuttling in disarray round the north of Scotland, many to founder on the shores of Ireland. Drawing upon contemporary reports, diaries and letters, as well as original eyewitness accounts, Alexander McKee presents a dramatic reconstruction described by those who actually took part in the campaign, on both sides. The result is living history, a reassessment that reveals many parallels with the critical summer of 1940. Four-hundred-year-old voices speak to us of armies massing on the coast of the Low Countries; of the bumbling incompetence that eventually brought the cumbersome Armada within sight of England; of swift and devastating assaults by the English galleons; of the panic-stricken flight into the North Sea; and of hardship and death and, throughout the action, a desperate need for more ammunition and food. Seen as a vivid documentary, the reasons why the deadly threat of Spain collapsed in ruins are thrown into high relief. Written by the discoverer and excavator of the Mary Rose, an historian and diver well able to understand the eccentricities of wind and current that Drake and Hawkyns used to such good effect, From Merciless Invaders is an outstanding contribution to the study of naval warfare.

CADEI always thought of Silas Rush as my biggest rival on the track and a stuck-up loner off it. But he and his fancy pro career left our crappy hometown in the dust before high school even finished, and then I didn't think of him much at all.I was too busy trying to keep my little sisters from turning into addicts like our mom, and myself from turning into a rage-junkie like our dad. All while keeping food on the table. Now he's back, reminding me of all the things I don't have, just like he always did.Except now we're both adults. And when I... y'know... talk to the guy for once, it looks like my teenage self might have been too distracted to see all the things that Silas didn't have as well. After catching him at his lowest possible moment, my heart goes out to the guy I used to hate. All my anger turns to guilt, and instead of a rival, I somehow end up with a socially-awkward new best friend that's just as screwed-up as I am.Which I can handle. I can admit when I'm wrong. As long as things between us don't get any more complicated or confusing, I can handle it. SILASI have a very camera-ready smile. Dad always told me if I wanted to make my pro motocross career stick, I needed to get over all the awkwardness and anxiety that ruined high school for me and learn to act like a real boy for the public.Never mind that I didn't want to be a pro rider, or smile for the camera, or live life with Dad on the road and never know what it's like to have a real friend or - gasp - relationship. Years and years of motocross training, publicity training, and all-the-rest-of-it training; I still don't have a life and one stupid mistake has left my precious career in the toilet. The last person I expect to pull me out of this hole is Cade Waters. I'm pretty sure everyone hated me in high school, but Cade was front and center. Which sucked, because with everyone else, he was sunshine personified. I was always the only person who sparked that anger in him, and I never even knew how I did it.So, when Cade not only swoops in to help me in my darkest moment, but decides to abandon our childhood rivalry and adopt me as his newest bestie/pity project, I'm not sure how to take it.What I do know is that after a lifetime of having nothing I really wanted, all it takes is one glimpse of Cade's life to get me hooked. He's a mess, sure, just like I am. But all that sunshine... I want to grab onto it with both hands and never let go. No matter how confusing that feeling may be.Stupid Dirty is a high-heat, high-angst M/M romance about dirt bikes, childhood trauma and figuring out how to love someone the best way you can. It contains explicit sexual content as well as potentially triggering themes regarding mental health, and is not suitable for readers under 18. Please see the content warning at the beginning of the book (included in the sample) for more details.

twist is a book of photography and the poetry it inspired. It is the second book from Antoinette LeCouteur and Peter Dudley, following up their inspiring release of together in 2023.Antoinette sees the world in ways many people do not, and she captures that view through photographs she takes with her phone. It may be a drop of dew glistening on a blade of grass in a friend's lawn, or a hummingbird as it alights on a branch against a desert sky. For this book, she carefully and lovingly selected one picture from each week of 2023, and Peter used that picture as a prompt for an original poem.Peter's poetry tends toward themes of longing, humor, loss, and impermanence. He coaxes out the essence of each of Antoinette's photos, focusing less on the objects and more on the feelings they invoke. Each poem tells an intriguing story that invites the reader to think deeply and find new layers of meaning upon each reading. Each photo and each poem stands as a piece of art on its own. Together, each weekly ekphrastic pairing creates a third piece of art that further enriches the reader's experience.Although the format of this book is similar to the format of together, the couple threw in a few twists. Peter provides a photograph in one week to inspire a poem by Antoinette, and another week Antoinette had to select a photo to go with the poem Peter wrote. The title, twist, also reflects the kind of year the couple had.
