About the BookMany fish farmers have in times past fallen victim of procuring bad fish seeds, leading to failure as they either died or refused to grow. This could be attributed to bad parent stocks, poor water management, poor stocking density, poor feeding etc. on the producers'' part except for those from farms with credibility which perform well and grow to good sizes. In solving this problem once and for all, it is necessary for fish farmers to start producing their own fish seeds (with all the needed care) for effective production, and this is what this handbook offers. It is written in such a way that the farmer who is interested in hatching their own fishes can do so without necessarily being monitored or supervised, the reason for the name "Do-It-Yourself" guide. The pictures used are deliberately included for easy perception of the whole process. With this guide at your disposal, you are fully armed for catfish seed production.
About the Book Aquaculture, popularly referred to as fish farming is a fast growing business around the world, attracting many investors from diverse sectors. Clarias happens to be the most cultured species in the tropics and it has been proven to yield good returns at market size. However, many of these investors dabble into the venture with little or no information at their disposal. As a result of this uninformed venture into an unknown business, many of such farmers have recorded a great deal of loss in one way or the other over time. It is therefore in order to correct the wrong foundations laid by the untrained farmers as well as to reinforce those of the trained ones that we put together this material capable of totally transforming the entire venture of fish farming if correctly applied. The questions contained in this handbook are those encountered during our training sessions, consultancy services etc and many of them are potential questions in many farmers'' mind. That is why we have taken good time to explain them; and the correct application of the information gathered from this piece will definitely improve your practice.
About the Book It has been discovered through years of Aquaculture consultations that many farmers are faced with one challenge or the other in the catfish culture process, and one of such major areas of concern is the issue of producing stunted, small-sized table fish at harvest period. Some farmers stock their ponds and six months later, they are still struggling to achieve one kilogram (1kg) of table fish. This is not normal. And the reason for this most times is the farmers'' inadequate knowledge on how catfish should be cultured and raised. There are certain keys meant for certain doors without which the doors will remain shut. Also, for catfish, there are certain keys needed to unlock their growth potentials in such a way that in four (4) months, you will be producing big sized table fish without struggle, thereby enabling you to achieve three (3) cycles of production in a 12 months calendar year. What you are about to encounter in this handbook are the secrets you need to know and apply in order to get your desired results in catfish farming. Read carefully and pick the keys.
About the Book The process of farming or raising snails is scientifically referred to as Heliciculture. Snails are small soft animals, usually with a hard round shell on their back which move very slowly. They are of different types and origins. Snail farming is considered a good venture around the world because snail is a cheap source of animal protein and the farming is also easy to set up. Although snails are of different origins as already mentioned, in this handbook, one of the African giant land snails, Archachatina marginata will be our focus being one of the commonest. The book is described as a Step by Step guide because the information it contains are easy to follow even by a layman who has no prior knowledge about snails. Reading and applying the principles this book contains will guarantee the success of your snail farming venture and even serve as a good resource material for snail related research or acedemic work.
About the Book Life on earth has been described as a form of pilgrimage (1 Peter 2:11, Hebrews 11:13) with eternity as man''s final destination. In the course of this brief earthly sojourn, man is bound to face certain situations capable of generating questions like ''what step do I take?'' ''where do I settle?'' ''who do I marry?'' ''will I be rich or poor?'' ''how do I finance my projects?'' ''how do I take good care of my family?'' ''how do I know God''s will for my life?'' just to mention a few. Usually, men find it difficult to provide correct answers to these questions due to their weak mortal nature. In this second volume, the Lord will be opening your eyes to additional revelations from His Word, capable of providing answers to the questions on your mind and pointing you in the right path to take in order to experience a fulfilled life here on earth and to attain a glorious eternity when the journey is over. Deuteronomy 29:29 says "The secret things belong unto the LORD, our God; but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law". As you encounter the secret things which the Lord has revealed by His Spirit in this book, determine to prayerfully apply them in your life and situations; you will record unusual testimonies and God''s light will shine upon your ways - Job 22:28, Psalm 119:105.
