Have you ever wondered about the afterlife? Whether or not there is one and if there is, just what it might be like? My Christian journey began when I was 26 years old and I was full of questions. As I studied the Bible, the issue of the afterlife started to become very important to me. Who is going to heaven? Is it just for Christians? What about hell? Is it real? Is it forever? I needed to know. I travelled down a number of Christian paths, looking for answers and soon discovered that there were different points of view to these questions. I then made the decision that the Scriptures and the Scriptures alone would be the foundation of my beliefs. I also decided to work from the New International Version because I consider it to be the most reliable translation. I searched the Scriptures thoroughly and in the process I also made the commitment that I would be completely honest during this process and not try to 'tweak' them along any preconceived or preferred directions. If I didn't like what I discovered, then so be it. God and I would work it out. I am delighted with my conclusions and would like to share them with you. I would like to shout them from the rooftops, but this book will need to suffice.

This textbook explains the fundamentals of effective academic writing for university studies across multiple genres and formats. It is intended for students who are either in the early stages of their university studies, or are preparing to enter a university degree. One of the ways this textbook differs from other textbooks on academic writing is its focus on the organisation of the English sentence through Theme and Rheme. The Theme is what the sentence is about, while the Rheme is what is being said about the Theme. In the English clause, the Theme is at the beginning and the Rheme follows. At the same time as the English clause is divided into Theme and Rheme, the clause can be understood as a unit of information where New information is provided to Given information. One of the central aims of the textbook is to increase awareness of the flow of Given and New information from sentence to sentence, and for students to have greater ability in its organisation. Moreover, New information is formally organised through prosody, or rhythm and intonation patterns. This approach takes account of English rhythms, intonation and stress patterns that accompany sentences and how this relates to writing sentences. Through the Theme/Rheme and Given/New approach, combined with an understanding of Genre, this book aims to both increase awareness of these aspects of the English sentence and explore how this aspect of English facilitates clearer and more effective writing.

Australia is a large continent and before British colonisation there were over 250 First Nation areas with different languages and cultures. The Wadi Wadi nation lived on an eastern coastal region south of Sydney, which was covered with thick subtropical rainforest and bordered by the Pacific Ocean which provided fish and shellfish in abundance. With its rich volcanic soil, it was one of the first areas to be taken by colonising farmers. The land was cleared and the food, culture and Dharawal language were all almost wiped out. Many First Nations people died from massacres, hunger, and European diseases. This story began in a deep valley 'Willow Gully' with remnant rare subtropical rainforest, inhabited by wallabies, echidnas, possums and hundreds of birds in a small coastal town called Kiama. The gully was settled in the 1840s by two British farming families, and in 2015 the remains of a small farm cottage was unearthed in the rainforest.
