  • - From Me to You
    av Richard Donovan Glover
    235

In Central West Africa over a quarter of a million years ago, mankind evolved to become the very first known genetically and anatomically modern humansHomo sapiens. One hundred forty thousand years ago, some of these modern humans migrated to the Great Rift Valley and Ethiopia, where almost all non-African people living today originated. More than seventy thousand years ago, some of their descendants moved across the Red Sea to the Arabian Peninsula, where 90 percent of the worlds existing non-African population originated. Many thousands of years later, some of these hunter-gatherers moved north. Because of climate change, their black skin changed to the olive brown of the Middle East, and some of them later migrated to the Caucasus and the Southern Eurasian Steppe grasslands. A few went east to Siberia and Northern Asia and eventually to the Americas, mutations changing their bodily features as they went. Others moved east and south, to India and Australasia. Forty thousand years ago, after moving farther north to the vast colder Northern Eurasian Steppes, mutations again took place, with the people adapting to the climate by changing their hair, skin, and eye color to a lighter hue. My own paternal haplogroup eventually moved west from the Eurasian Steppes to the fjords of Norway, becoming Viking warriors who raided the British Isles. They eventually settled here in the eleventh century with the family name Manningham, changing to Glover in the seventeenth century. My maternal ancestors moved from being some of the first farmers in Anatolia to become the Anglo-Saxons in North West Europe who invaded and settled in South East England over 1,400 years ago. Over the centuries, some members of these families settled in the United States of America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, helping to build these new countries to what they are today. Some towns and cities are named after them. If you are a member of one of these now-very-wide families or simply interested in the early history of mankind, I hope you will find this little book of interest. Richard Donovan Glover

  • - Within & Beyond Science
    av Charles De Silva
    216,-

While extending a strong challenge to the superstition of atheism, the principal aim of this book is to demonstrate the fact that the major scientific discoveries that have been made so far, distinctively and expressly reveal the existence of an intelligent and omnipotent Designer who has thoughtfully and intentionally instituted all universal laws with stark precision and accuracy. In this discussion I have also emphasized the incapability of science to stand alone as a final deciding instrument on matters that extend beyond the natural realm. Hence no proof of a Divine Existence can be established by reference to science alone, but through logical reasoning based on obvious and explicit facts. I have also highlighted the reality that most scientific phenomena cannot be explained without recourse to the role of a Supernatural Power. In this book I have put forward a chain of very rational arguments most of which originated in my mind at various occasions and hence would be new and interesting to the reader who would be led towards the definite conclusion that this universe could not have been the outcome of an accident or random chance, but the result of an intentional plan of a Supernatural Power. A unique feature of this book is that all the arguments presented by me here are determined upon logical conclusions based on common sense and scientifically established facts and not on sheer imaginary hypothesis. On my contemplative reasoning I am also presenting a proposition which I have named as the Theory of Irresistible Cessation of Matter and Irreversible Nature of Life as proof of the existence of a precise Divine plan.Charles de Silva

    av Hilary K Sinclair

These poems reflect an ongoing awareness journey. The search began via personal psychotherapy and encounter groups in a secular perspective in the seventies, predictably morphing into spiritual concerns. An intense involvement as a Christian later transcended into a more all-embracing vision. The poems, few though they are, are a natural expression of that journey.

I looked through many events of my oceangoing past and sorted out these seven survival scenarios, in which the main characters ventured into the boundless scene of nature that to see and feel what one great man, Ernest Shacklton, confessed a long time ago: We had seen God in His splendors, heard the text that Nature renders1959 And eventually, it happened to most of them, my friends and colleagues, who became the heroes-actors of the stories, which I still perceive and clearly see in my vivid memory like it happened yesterday: the fledgling lonely marine on a raft, drifting on the high seas and fighting for his life; the tender lady, armed just with a primitive spear, battling with a dreadful beast to save the other people; the scouts miraculously coming alive out of hell of the Antarctica tempest in Royal Bay of South Georgia; the nonchalant mariners, enjoying the Arctic scenery and escaping a huge polar bear; the crew of a fishing trawler struggling for survival when trapped by hurricanes Debbie and Camille on the Grand Banks. The last two stories of Howling Wilderness and The Castaways of frozen Land are about the most remarkable survival in Siberia and on Arctic islands.

I share this account of an apparently simple family event; the sharing of a breakfast meal, celebrating Mothering Sunday; as a way of thinking about how shared experiences, especially of shared meals, which are always more meaningful than they first seem. That Sunday morning, even whilst enjoying the friendly atmosphere and the delicious food, I somehow knew that there was a story to tell; this is but one version. Although my thinking is sociological and methodological, I have tried to tell it as a story, through which I might be able to capture something of the essence of the extraordinary in the ordinariness of a simple shared meal!

God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit It was the hope that the idea of The Holy Spirit and Me would be highlighted in some of the verses that I picked in the people I chose to portray and myself. Part One The women whom I chose to relate to my great-grandmother Mwandiitaani Madzianike are Eve, Sarah, Hagar, Rebekah, Leah, Rachel, Bilhah, Zilpah, Hannah, Peninnah, Elizabeth, Naomi, Ruth, Orpah, Samsons mother, Anna the Prophetess, Michal, and Tamar. They shared a few common things with her, one of which is the fact that they were either barren or associated directly with someone who was barren, and barrenness caused their husbands to have children with other women. Then they all later had children or remarried and had children. This led me to Deuteronomy 7:14 KJV, which states, Thou shalt be blessed above all people; there shall not be male or female barren among you or among your cattle. Part Two That led me to the Saurombe Clan, whose great-grandmother is Mwandiitaani Madzianike Saurombe. She was married to Saurombe the Third after she ran away from her first husband, only to discover later that she was pregnant. Saurombe married her, and she had fifteen children. The Holy Spirit and Me The Holy Spirit and Me is the rest of the book. I hope you will find it interesting and encouraging that God wants us to know that he cares for all our needs, and his word is true, always.

  • - Book Ii
    av Isaac Mampuya Samba
    202,-

Let us listen to Irene Lucindaio express herself on this subject: And again, alas! I was going to defray the chronicles of evil! In any case, I am Irene Lucindaio. I am bad luck to people. To know that, already, already, already, already, and already, I had introduced (during days of Friday the 13th) the formidable idea of the Suicidero Form, the Suicideros form, through the sad form, by the nostalgia form, and the melancholy form, in a peaceful family of thirteen persons (the Loureno familythe offspring and their parents); thirteen people, in fact, completely suicidal themselves, so to speak, decimated. And the recourse to this macabre idea, it was because of whom? It was because of me, Irene Lucindaio. But really: What rubbish that I am me? So I must be ashamed to be able to look at myself in a mirror! Thus, this Venus called Irene Lucindaio would captivate all eyes, all the attention, and (it goes without saying) all comments. And again, alas! She was going to defray the chronicles of evil; consequently, for her, gossiping gossip and the feeling of living in the depths of the abyss had become indisputable. Hence, for her, it was absolutely necessary to go away. For her, she would actually have no other alternative as a solution than that of leaving, leaving, leaving, and leaving; going far away; very far; far, far away; very, very far from her birthplace. She would go to London. Only here, her son Ernesto, where he would have stayed with his grandparents, would have become the toy of all; whats more, every night he would have horrible nightmares, with multiple names that he would remember. And so, every morning, he would wake up in the wrong way. And what to do in front of this situation?

The Fourth International theory is a book that attempts to put into place a framework of how to implement Direct Democracy as envisioned by the Ancient Greeks and many other political theorists and thinkers. This is an attempt to find a British way of implementing the will of the people more effectively. For too long politics has been top down from Tyranny to Dictatorship ti Authoritarian rule to Liberal Democracies, Autocracies and Monarchies and so on and so forth...This is an attempt to bring the World a bottom up form of politics and political theory. We do not pretend that this is a perfect system it is far from it, however, it is an improvement on our current system of top down Authoritarian Dictatorship, some might argue is an actual Dictatorship and fairly so.This book could not have been compiled without the suffrage of many millions of people Worldwide and without the tried and tested methods of other ways of politics, namely the first three ways of politics. It could also, of not been possible without the works of Hugo Chavez Frias, the Jamahriyia and Green Book of Muammer al Gaddafi and Gamal Abdel Nasser Egyptian President from 1953-1970. Although this does not mean that we endorse all that these men may or may not have been aledgly involved with or not. I hope that this is the guide for the Revolution that ends all Revolutions.

I wasnt very happy when Mum told me that Granny and Grandpa were coming to live at our house, which is in a little village in the country. When they lived in a big house near London, we used to go and stay. Granny would cook nice meals, and we used to go up to the middle of London sometimes and visit the London Eye and the zoo or the shops in the West End. But when Grandpa got dementia, Mum said they should come and live at our house as we had a self-contained two-bedroom flat they could live in. She said the last tenants were a nightmare. If Granny and Grandpa were living with us, she could help Granny keep an eye on Grandpa. What with not going to stay with them near London anymore and having extra people in the house, I wasnt really sure that was what I wanted.
