The book is an action-packed thriller, a roller coaster of a read with a pace that increases throughout and has lots of twists and turns in its cunning plot, climaxing in an explosive and gratifying end, with excitement, love, violence, and scenes of a highly sexual nature. A young scientist believes that she has found the answer to curing the worlds most incurable disease, cancer; however, there are greater forces, higher powers, and very influential people that want to see the cure suppressed and controlled by them. The colorful characters throughout are what make the story the nail-biter it is as they fight to control the cure each for their very different reasons and purpose. Will Claire Blake and her friends survive the frightening ordeals that are to come their way? The story isnt just a shoot-em-up, car-chase, espionage, cops-n-bad-guys theme; it also touches on terrorism, religion, and many moral viewpoints that are influenced by our worlds governments and holy leaders. An enjoyable read but strictly for adults!

The four historical characters on the coverJulius Caesar, Joan of Arc, Fedor Dostoevsky, and Vincent Van Goghare all understood to have had epilepsy, but they also had successful lives as well. That is the key point of this book. Epilepsy is a curious and often misunderstood chronic disorder of the brain that affects approximately 50 million people across the globe in a variety of ways. Characterised by recurrent seizures as a result of excessive electrical discharges in a group of brain cells, epilepsy has extreme diversity with over forty different types of seizures. Besides the medical impact, the prejudices and social stigma that surround epilepsy worldwide are often more difficult to overcome than the seizures themselves. While Time Well Spent with Epilepsy is simply a memoir of my eventful life and times with epilepsy, the book hopes to highlight and demonstrate, along with the struggles surrounding the condition, that epilepsy is not necessarily an obstacle to a persons progress through life. People can have successful careers and lives despite the downsides of epilepsy.

Bad thoughts are thieves that act their part and creep through the window of our thoughts, and if its way can win, it lets hundreds of robbers in.

Along the way, he faithfully keeps a diary, a record of discovery of a world seen from an entirely new perspective, one that emerges from a time of intense loneliness reflecting on life and the people in it. • - Afghanistan: 1963-1993
    av General Nabi Azimi
    360,-

The Army and Politics was hoped to be of any help to readers and researchers interested in the modern history of Afghanistan. It was hoped to be able to offer a proper historic perspective for a particular era of time. A time during which the country strived to make itself a peaceful place for everyone to live in, but had to come across waves of political setbacks caused by foreign interference. The arrival of The Red Army in 1979 opened a new phase of political challenges for almost every side involved. In particular, the West now had to do something to make sure that the Soviet Communist government of Russia lost sleep over their occupation of Afghanistan.Looking at the bitters events and incidents with deliberation will undoubtedly lead to a better understanding of what actually did happen between 1963 and 1993. With a glance through the index, one would realise that the majority of the matters and topics covered are quite overwhelmingly rich of new and unheard of events and incidents. Army and Politics comprises of the author's own engraved memoirs and analysis of the military-political incidents and events that occurred during his active membership of the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan. Army and Politics talks of the dramatic coming to power and collapses of the republican Afghan governments beginning with the deposition of the former King Zahir Shah in 1973. Army and Politics talks of the capacity and capabilities of the Afghan Army during the Soviet occupation and the struggle that the west-backed Mujahideen forces had to withstand for many years. Army and Politics reminds us of the amount of foreign interference that the Afghan governments had to deal with over the years. Army and Politics gives account of how the Afghan government managed to remain in power following the withdrawal of The Red Army from Afghanistan under the leadership of General Gromov in 1989. Army and Politics explains in detail what caused the former Afghan President Dr Najeebullah to leave his government behind and try to escape before seeking refuge at the United Nations office in Kabul in 1992, and what happened to him a few years after. Renowned political figures such as Ludwig W. Adamec and B. B. C's Chief International Correspondent Lyse Doucet who were involved in the Afghan history and politics, have both shown their support for The Army and Politics to be published as a valuable source of information.

The present work on African philosophy brings in new freshness into the African philosophical enterprise as it introduces not just thoughts that could be categorized as African philosophy but also thoughts that were borne from the reflections of individual African philosophers. It covers a period that could be referred to as modern African philosophy. It includes philosophical activities in Africa between the fifteenth and early part of the twentieth century.

Most of us seek perfection, be it the perfect partner, the perfect job, the perfect crime, the perfect murder or, in particular, the perfect revenge. But, however hard we try, there are always consequences. And the unpredictability of some of those consequences can make for the perfect story.

Readers are not only taken aback in time and place; this script of fiction is created from real life events. It is narrated in the most hilarious, fascinating and inspirational manner, to amuse both the young and the adult audience. Youngsters growing up within Zimbabwes countryside, a rural community that was dominated by traditional small-scale farming, where parents intended to make better the future of their offspring. The most fulfilling way of life, yet very basic and simple. It was an existence with not much interference from modern day technology. The years when social media was nonexistent. For most, it was a livelihood of barely getting by, yet never short of fulfilment. There is a neighbouring modern settlement, for which its influence on the villagers at the time, could never be denied. A bus ride away is Harare, the capital city, of which some have close connections with. Leah, is the youngest of the siblings, with several brothers and sisters before her, was she to simply follow a very distinctive path. Somewhat aware of the powerful forces in their upbringing. How would the youngsters mould their own beings, within a network of relationships, values and expectations alongside the forbidden? Central to a community influenced by the patriarchal and customary conservative conforms. Things do happen, and when they do, how does one move on? Decades later, Leah, is seen again fully established within the diaspora-London. Where her daughter Ciara is from another era.

This is a picture book in words. Each poem stimulates an image of the worlds in which we live, their hills and mountains, cold northern seas and hot deserts, war, peace, loneliness, and the comfort of friends and child-filled families, together with reminders of the inner matters of the soul-faith, worship, birth, death, and the hereafter. It is a book to excite, stir, inspire, and frequently to raise a smile at the memories we all share.

  • - Volume Three
    av Isaac Mampuya Samba
    174

In this Volume III, we will continue the second part of the book (that is to say, Repression and the Impact of the Treaty on Ogooue, Loango, Congo and Surrounding Societies) that we have already begun in Volume II. We will try to carefully consider the suppression of this inhuman trading on the shores of Gabon, who were under French sovereignty. In Gabon, as elsewhere in Loango and especially in Congo, the slave buying and selling was sometimes in disguised forms. It is carried in the domestic qualification between the coast of Africa and Brazil and the blacks who were subsequently sold as slaves mercilessly. However, a tolerance granted to boarding the blacks as such (that is to say, by way of domestic, whatever their numbers elsewhere, and especially their species) was, therefore, not regarded as any other than the implicit tolerance of the slave trader, which, of course, was not slow to manifest itself openly. The still was transported under the qualification free emigrants (with employment contracts), considerable quantities of Negroes. We were brought in the new world. All these operations raised a great outcry from international opinion. First, without really giving the impression to tackle this or that nation who practiced these operations, we made people understand that the mortality raging in the boats, making this covert deals too high. After, it openly attacked the nations who were involved in these practices.
