Yoga for Addiction Recovery delivers just that; practical yoga techniques and tools to support ongoing recovery from active addiction. Years spent, by the author, in both recovery and in practicing yoga have made clear that the underlying principles of both yoga and the 12 Steps weave together, complimenting each other in a totally cohesive way. If you are in recovery yourself, apply and absorb what you can use. If you are wanting to teach a yoga class to a recovering population, this book will give you a better understanding of the disease concept, in addition to the process your students will be walking through.

During the beginning pandemic Aaron saw a need for creativity and a voice for the overlook and isolated. After he graduated he was set on writing two films based on experiences he's had in Boise, Idaho. After pitching them and receiving positive feedback he realized that his concepts had one loud underlying theme; isolation. He decided to travel to Tijuana, Mexico a year later to help build a home and care for abandoned families. Although he felt he made a major impact there was so much more for him to do. So he began to write poems to lay his burdens for the people all out. After he left he came back with a poem that would touch the people he cared for. The Lonely Sailor became a hit with everyone he shared it with, and consequently led to the book you are reading now.

Daily Journal is the mirror image of your soul, letting the light shine and reaching out to others through the grace of God. This book offers a daily roadmap for your spiritual journey in walking with the Lord. Keep that smile on your face; it could be the answer to someone's prayer. Most everyone can smile, although many do not. An effortless spiritual gesture that can help change the direction of the soul. Let others know that you are proud of them. Do more for others than you do for yourself. Have you found joy in your life? Has your life brought joy to others? God's gift to us is life; what we do with this life is our gift to God. God does not make mistakes, and God does not make junk. You are a divine child of God, one of God's precious children. Be nice to yourself because you're worth it, and God loves you. Love is the key to understanding through prayer. Praying to the Lord by giving 15 minutes a day to this journal shows God your love for him. And in return, God will answer your prayer spiritually or monetarily, showing his love for you. Faith will keep you on that less traveled road. God will occasionally stick us back into the fire to burn the impurities from this precious piece of gold, "e;our soul."e; This is why so-called bad things happen to good people. It is just the Lord changing our direction. Once we understand why we are here and our calling for God to help others, we will only know where we are going. The Lord's prayer mentioned, "e;on earth as it is in heaven."e; Bible (Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth). Helping someone will make you feel good about yourself, and this book offers the tools needed.

This book was written for those who find themselves inadequate and alone to meet life's challenges, with little or no support from family or friends; having only themselves to count on for financial support and without even a car to get to and from work; for those who are scared, depressed and lonely. That is how the author found herself after her divorce. She began writing a journal of prose which enabled her to express her thoughts and activities, then making comments on the prose. The journal became the source for this book. The trauma of all the above factors forced her to turn within, where much to her surprise, answers came! What she has learned is "e;All things (ALL situations, ALL events, ALL circumstances), work together for good, PERIOD!HOWEVER, that phrase has a caveat:It requires that we fully believe - more than that - KNOW that there is a power, greater than our finite selves, that is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. The essence of that power is LOVE, that many of us call God. That is what the author wants to share with her readers; That through life's trials and personal tribulation, our successes, and failures, and by turning within for the answers, we become more and more aware that there is indeed a power greater than the finite, inadequate, ego-centered self we hold so dear. For the vast majority of us, this does not happen over-night, that we must be vigilant in watching our thoughts. You will find throughout this anthology, that the author indeed has her ups and downs, successes and failures, but through her persistent belief in that higher power within us, she found the love she was looking for - both within and without.

How do we access those parts of ourselves which will free us from the torment of our past? What role does our ego play? What do we need to change? How do we change? To what do we change to? An attempt will be made in this book to answer those questions. The change that most of us are seeking is a change that will take us from chaos and conflict to harmony and balance within our lives. There are conflicting ideas about how to achieve this. Some people believe that you need to identify your objectives, pursue them at all costs then you will be happy and fulfilled. Others believe you should take a step back, follow your intuitive guidance to your divine destiny. There is no right or wrong answer for how to move yourself forward. As I like to say, "e;Many roads lead to the summit."e;In this book, I talk about just one of these roads. For myself, the road I decided to take was the spiritual path.

Stephanie Drummond shares her own experience with grief, noting that losing someone will affect every single person differently. Even her siblings reacted to the death of their mother in different ways. While the stages of grief we hear so much about can help us know what we might expect, she notes they are only a guideline and can happen in any order. She also seeks to provide insights such as: understanding that the ups and downs of loss are not linear, and the "e;stages of grief"e; do not necessarily occur in order, learning there are ways to navigate the winding path back to peace and joy and that you are not alone in experiencing any of the many emotions. how to remove guilt and stop blaming yourself after losing a loved one. Drummond also recognizes that although she's suffered a series of losses, her struggle is not over. She reveals that if you try to skip the many parts of grief, you'll only make it worse. The only way out is by going through. Learning the value of self-validation, self-forgiveness and self-compassion and most importantly, not comparing your grief to others' are some of the keys to finding laughter (without the guilt) again.
