  • - Analytical findings of Ukhrul District, Manipur.
    av Depend Kazingmei
    176

This book is centered on understanding public sentiment, with a primary emphasis on formulatingconstructive solutions derived from input provided by various stakeholders and civil societyorganizations.Unfortunately, Ukhrul district was considered a 'disturbed area' even before AFSPA was imposed in thewhole state of Manipur on 8th September 1980. The fact is, even if there is peace and harmony in thestate, it is always considered disturbed due to hostility. Taking advantage of this, gross human rightsviolations have been committed for decades. Several protests and rallies have been staged but have goneunnoticed by the Central and State governments, leaving much agitation and protests in vain. The overarching goal of this book is to foster a deeper understanding between the Armed Forces and theresidents of Ukhrul with a concurrent emphasis on making positive contributions to enhance the overallwell-being of the state of Manipur.

The idea of writing this book originated from my wife, who always felt dejected seeing young kids around 4-5 years of age with severe decay of teeth. She has been treating them with empathy since 7 years and feels there should be a change in the attitude of young parents towards their children dental health. The most common reason for gradual increase in tooth decay of young kids is lack of awareness in parents regarding tooth care leading to negligence on their part and inclination of kids towards junk food. There has always been fear and myths to visit a dentist especially for children under 6 years old. This book is written with a motive to help parents as well as child to gain some insights about oral hygiene with interactive communication between protagonist to keep parents and child engage in book with fun activities and stickers.

Poetry is such a language that can express deep thoughts in less words. Poetry helps in sharing one's thoughts and pain with the society. At the same time, it helps in self-introspection too. Dominance of violence pains the human mind. This pain gets reflected well through the words of poetry. There is the resonance of this pain in each and every poem in this book. The words and rhythm reflect the concern towards events occurring around us. This concern, actually, is the call of our conscience, that makes us believe that love and truth are the most valuable asset for human. The poems also have an urge to renounce the path of violence outright.

It's my passion to write poetry. After a long time, I have made up mymind to share and spread my piece of art with other readers since ittouches my heart to be able to connect with people across the worldthrough the complex human emotions that bind us together. Also, the subject of my work deals with topics that may be consideredtaboo, such as the matter of sex and the way society tries to suppressthe real feelings of an individual personality. Moreover, the concerns highlighted through the poems also includediscrimination and exploitation on the basis of gender such asblackmailing gullible and naïve women through digital dating apps, byexposing their intimate moments on the internet.More abhorrent, unvoiced but still rampant themes such as child sexualabuse and the vicious repercussions that they leave on the victim havealso been stated in a downright, distinct manner, so that the readermay become aware of the circumstances by which the victim becomesreluctant to name the exact nature of wrongs that have beencommitted against her/him, perhaps because the culprit might besomeone known and close.Besides, the pain, shame and the misery that he/she undergoes, andmight have to live with all his/her life, without having someone toconfide to has been depicted with the necessary despair and anguish.Instead of name shaming and questioning the victim itself, I have triedto plead the audience to be more empathetic and supportive in orderto minimize their plight. Also, as a recovering addict, I have tried to portray the road to sobrietyas clearly as possible, thereby clearing common misconceptions thatstill lie deep seeded within the minds of the common man. Most peopleare not aware of the pain and dark emotions that propel the addict intotaking narcotics to deal with the same.I have also made clear how the society is also responsible, to a certainextent, in aiding the problems of the addict by constant name shamingand the propagation of guilt and shame. All this, for a disease that canimpact any one's life; a disease about which they don't have a choice. On the other hand, it's not just the so called "grim and dark" issues thathave been covered within the ambit of the stoems. You shall find plentyof stoems covering sexuality and intimacy with a tinge of humor andsarcasm, the main context being how the physical part of the relationacts as a critical foundation for a better, meaningful bond. All through the stoems, I have been bold and emphatic in dealing withvarious different genres which cannot be necessarily boxed into a one-size-fits-all category. The tone is vigorous and undeniably insistent onbeing real and honest so that we can become more open minded aboutissues that need to be brought from the backburner into the limelightsimply because they are an essential component of life, without whichlife would be empty and meaningless.I expect people to be able to enjoy their real desires without beingsubjected to ill will and demonization. I hope all readers can savor mywriting with a pinch of salt, and be able to express the same with a zealand enthusiasm that never fails to leave one surprised. After all, being bold is being beautiful.

After reading this book, you will understand how people can fight back from desperate and critical situations that they face suddenly. A confused medical fraternity told him that "he will not live for more than three to six months.". That was told 3 years ago. From a soaring Global Corporate Leader, crashlanding to a rare illness and picking up the stick to walk up and down the Organizational stairs. He continues to create an inclusive organizational culture. For some, there is a clear correlation between the success of an organization and the diversity it needs to embrace. For others, the struggles, the feeling of "I am alone ", " I can't do it", will be trampled and crushed- to rise and shine again.

Days pass by, and we grow up, but do we really? Adulting can be challenging, but the teenage was horrible as well. I can't hope for happy days. Who am I kidding? I never stop hoping. It's the last leaf I hold on to, to save me from drowning. However, I am aware that things won't get much brighter in the future. The feeling of never being loved and adored deeply by someone will only get shadowed by the responsibilities of a job, house, and family. The emptiness might become less prominent when people fill in the space of my mind, but I know it'll always be there. I am lying to myself right now and to you as well. Because I secretly wish for my days to become merrier, my life, happier. These expectations had me falling for people. Falling for their smile, the lovely things they said and did. Falling for the dreams I dreamt with them, or alone. And that got me hurt. I often told myself I would stop expecting, but I doubt it. Through it all, some things I couldn't just say. The Words I Couldn't Say I've written it all down for you to read. In this collection of poetry, I wrote over a long time. I want to be seen, heard, understood. Yours Sincerely, Grey.

Nasir Kazmi (1925-1972) is one of the pioneers of modern Urdu ghazal. Hislyricism, sensitivity and political awareness make him both a romantic and arebel of sorts. His melancholic, brooding tone bears testimony not only to thechanging contours of human attitude, but also to the riotous times he lived in, like the Partition. His imagery of loss, nostalgia and fleeting love has stirred anemotional chord in a million hearts. Nearly half of this anthology has been set tomusic and there is hardly an eminent singer of the subcontinent who has notlent their voice to his ghazals.
