The poems that appear in Moonstruck Pilgrim, have been chosen from three different Bengali poetry collections of Abhijit Palchoudhuri. The collection is not a random amalgamation of the individual verses. Rather, there is a subtle, loosely bound sequence which gently nudges the reader to begin a journey through the world of the poet and, in the process, discover their own universe and identity. The poems are housed in four different sections.Section 1 - The PilgrimThe Poet As The Seeker- The poems here are self-reflective, but they have a sense of restlessness, where the poet is the seeker and is impatient to find a meaning, a sense in the universe. There is hope, despair, and again hope in these verses as the pilgrim begins the inward journey Section 2- Moon DrenchedThe Poet As The Lover- The poems here, highlight Nature's role in shaping the soul and the sensitivities of the seeker. They are subtle, and soothing - and offer shelter to the weary pilgrim from the previous section. Section 3- The JourneyThe Poet As The Sailor - As the name suggests, this section depicts the journey itself- the experience gathered, and the priceless insight . The stormy obstacles, and the springs of light. Hope dying. Hope reborn. The voyage of the thirsty Self. Section 4 - The PoetThe Poet As The Poet - In this section, the pilgrim, through the journey, has finally discovered the poet in him. The poet healways was. His identity. He's finally free. It is not necessary to read the poems in sequence. The readers may choose to begin their journey from a different point altogether. And thus define their own pilgrimage.

'Parwaaz' is my second collection of writings. After 'Aagaaz', Parwaaz is my collection of ghazals, nazms, rubais and poems. My love for both Hindi and Urdu hypnotizes my pen and makes it dance in its own way. Sometimes Hindi shows its magic in the guise of poems and sometimes Urdu dominates its magic in the form of ghazal, nazms and rubais. However, my only effort has been to follow the instructions of my pen while writing, which itself chooses any feelings from the bundle of memories in my heart and spreads it on a blank page. Most of the poems in this book are very close to my heart. What makes them special is how they sing the songs of my heart, my life. It seems as if these poems are the clay structuring my life into a beautiful creation. In the end, I would like to give credit to each and everyone who constantly supported and encouraged me to write by cheering for me at each step and pushed me to be better by being my best critics. Thank you to each one of them.
This Day That Year as a title came from a TV program of the 90s called "This Week That Year", that I used to watch on TV. I could relate to it very well as I remembered the release dates of most of the movies of the late 60s and early 70s and when the host spoke about it, I went down my memory lane and loved the experience. Once I became part of Facebook in 2009, I found a great forum to share my experiences of movie releases in Bombay then and now Mumbai. I found a lot of like-minded people who could relate to my post and shared their experiences and thoughts as comments. Quite a few of them encouraged me to share it with a larger audience and hence suggested publishing it. I never thought of doing it but when people kept telling me regularly to do it, I decided to give it a try, and here comes my experiences and thoughts of the movies released in the late 60s and early 70s. Hope you like what you read, though many of the statements would look repetitive. But do accept the experiences of a teenager who turns into a man in 1973.
In the universe created by nature, which embraces billions of human beings, countless elements spread hatred and hence drive away the harmony between the universe and nature. The universe is in danger due to the negative thinking of such anti-human elements. Since the universe nourishes us all equally, to spread hatred is like biting the hand that feeds us. If human beings living in every region are not treated without discrimination of caste, color creed, and faith, then the day is not far when the whole world and humanity will have to bear the consequences. If we spread hatred and destroy humanity and the human spirit from the universe, our regret will not help anything, because it will be too late by then. For this, we all must wake up now at individual and collective levels, and this book is my small initiative
