A short history of our line of the Sperry family as researched and remembered by Greta Daigle, 2024 My paternal grandmother was Mary Theresa Sperry, who loved to tell the family stories. Through her and through my parents, Maurice Sperry Young and Marion Kirch Young, I developed a strong passion for genealogy, and especially our own family stories. I loved her story that we were descended from pirates. We have traced the Sperry family back to John Sperry, born 1540 in Bedfordshire, England. The first Sperry to come to America was Richard Sperry, who came to America in 1637. Richard is known to have aided the judges who condemned Charles 1 to death and escaped England as a "Regicide". It is through the Sperrys that we are related to Benjamin Franklin, who is my 1st cousin, 9 times removed. We are also related to Sperry Flour in California, Sperry Gyroscopes who later evolved into Honeywell Corp. and to the Sperry Shoes. We have a long line of Adirondack Guides and inventors and regular folk. I hope you enjoy reading their stories as much as I enjoyed putting this together. This is a very consolidated version of my line, back through the Sperrys.

The book offers a relatively brief, yet relatively complete account of the Frigate Constitution's actions from construction, through 3 wars, several battles, until the end of hostilities of the War of 1812 in 1815. Included is a discussion of the USS Constitution involvement in the First Barbary War, the battle with HMS Guerriere, battle with HMS Java and battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

Amrutanubhav or Amritanubhav is a composition by the Marathi saint and poet Jnanesvar during the 13th century. It is considered to be a milestone in Marathi literature. Amrutanubhav is composed of two Marathi words Amrut (derived from Amrita which translates as immortal Elixir in Sanskrit) and Anubhav meaning experience. As a result, it literally translates to "the experience of immortality" in Sanskrit/ Marathi.

Bhava Bandhan is a Marathi language Play written by Ram Ganesh Gadkari. Ram Ganesh Gadkari was one of the writers the in new age transformation in Marathi literature. He wrote poetry under the pen name Govindagraj and humorous articles under the pen name Balakram. He wrote plays under his legal name.

Dariyapar Na Baharvatiya is transformed on the basis of the realistic stories garnered in the work titled as The Outlaws of Modern Days by Esten Wolf. Dariyapar Na Baharvatiya is a gujarati language collection of short stories by Jhaverchand Meghani. It was first published in 1932.

Pingali Surana (16th century C E) was a Telugu poet and was one of the Astadiggajas. Surana wrote Garuda Puranam, Prabhavatee Pradyumnamu, Raghava Pandaveeyam and Kalapurnodayamu in 1500 C E. He dedicated Garuda Puranam to his father and Kalapurnodayam to the Nandyal King. Kalapurnodayam is more of a novel than poetry and Raghava Pandaveeyam is in dvayarthi (double meaning) style. Kalapurnodayamu means full bloom of art. Surana used advanced literary techniques in Indian literature such as flashbacks and character transformation.

Manu Baba is a collection of short stories written by Pandurang Sadashiv Sane also known as Sane Guruji. The book was first published in 1941. Pandurang Sadashiv Sane (24 December 1899 - 11 June 1950), also known as Sane Guruji by his students and followers, was a Marathi author, teacher, social activist and freedom fighter from Maharashtra, India. He is referred to as the National Teacher of India.

This book are my thoughts and personal experiences I've been through. The good and the bad. It is God inspired poetry; of joy, pain, and life with the Lord God Almighty.
