Have you ever wondered just how our current global economy came about-and how its laws and regulations rule and influence our lives? In this commonsense discussion of world economics, author Cornelis Bal presents a brief exploration of these questions and offers suggestions for how we might change our economic system in order to improve our lives. His explanation draws a comparison between the laws of nature and the laws of economics, considering how the rapid development of technology in the last century has drastically affected how we work and live and these technological developments will continue to influence our lives beyond imagination in the very near future. Rather than presenting elaborate mathematical models to support his conclusions, he relies on straightforward language and observations that anyone might make. Bal explains that the present global economic system does not seem to have a sustainable future unless we make drastic changes, we will continue to experience increasing anarchy.
These poems are a chronicle of two years of my life, which at that time had just been turned upside down. I lost my perfectly planned future, my friends and my family. All these changes were initiated by my rebel son. I am very proud of him now, but there were times I felt crushed because of his stubbornness ("My Lord"). His decision to begin his own life made me analyze mine ("Cardinal virtues", "Dolce vita") and made me contemplate my feelings ("Happiness"). I started to question the wisdom of the path I had chosen to follow ("Cave of ignorance", "My friends", "What's wrong"). I felt worn out ("For the most dangerous thing is to wait", "If you don't know", "50 pennies and they're yours"). And then something unexpected happened; Love crossed my way ("His commandment", "And now it is love", "For I"). Love had not been allowed to come into my life ("Iridescent love") but she did not care. I cursed ("Damn!"), prayed ("Prayer") and argued with her ("William and Isabelle", "Thistle of Scotland"). I went to Australia knowing perfectly well that there would be no help there ("The Yellow Brick Road to Emerald City"). Australia tried to hold me with its wit ("Disneyland", "Our Lord decided to be a merchant") and its wild beauty ("Susan River", "Bloom upside down", "Eye stone"). But all the time that I dwelled in this Garden of Eden Love stayed with me ("Shelly beach", "K'gari") and did not want to die ("To want so much", "Pyrrhic Victory"). I had to come back, to face it ("Spotting her"), to meet my memories ("Come back to your sweet love!"), to make examination of my conscience ("I abandoned you my Lord") and find, if not what I left behind, then at least peace of mind.
If it could be said that a personal relationship can be developed between a human being and an impersonal spirit guide, then author Dr. C. Norman Shealy accomplished this with G. They established a type of communication that was intense, at times personal, but also productive with G providing Shealy a view of what human beings could heal if their consciousness would only break free or break through of its illusions. In Conversations with G, Shealy not only offers an overview of his life and his successful medical career and healing advancements, but he shares conversations with his spirit guide, G, who has been a part of his life for more than thirty years. A story that inspires the spirit as much as expands the mind, Conversations with G narrates a personal journey of mystical encounters with angelic teachers and materialization and dematerialism which have led to numerous medical- and health-enhancing discoveries.
Horses Whispering emphasizes the unique bond between horses and people, suggesting that every hair on the horse is a biofeedback signal that the horse is responding to connectedness with the rider. For adults interested in beginning horseback riding or returning to riding after a period of time, often due to a traumatic experience with a horse, the author provides detailed examples of the wide range of experiences which are useful to all equestrian activities."Understanding the power of the horse/rider partnership is a metaphor for the gestalt of teaching and learning."-Abigail B. Wiebenson, Director Emerita, Lowell School, Washington, DCIndeed, learning to receive the unspoken messages from people and horses is crucial for all successful relationships. Just as human body language is often more important than speech, intuitive awareness of this more subtle information is essential for all aspects of life. This is a call for your success-centered life, whatever your interests. Once you learn the whispered messages between individuals, you will overcome fears about your interactions with other people and animals.
As a parent, you have a duty to read this book. I have heard so many parents say, "I can't believe he/she did it. He was so happy. We had a wonderful relationship and life. He had everything he wanted. His friends loved him. He was so popular and had a beautiful girl friend. He was so good at sports. He was the captain of the swim team."I thought we had a great relationship, but we didn't obviously. Do you want to be this? Do you want to experience this yourself? As a family, distrusting the others usually results when one is lost. This gives my experience and the way everything changes. In my family, the result, which I have seen, is terrible. Therefore, it changes the structure, and the children do not know where they fit in the family. The family turns their mind, and everyone blames each other. The children blame the adults as the leaders of the family. Family complicates those who are reserved. I can't imagine losing my four daughters. Can you imagine losing your child by his own hand? Do you want your family to live like this?
Are biblical and prevailing mythologies essential truths but interpreted by witnesses with incomplete comprehension - intentionally misled even? Deluded by whom? Who were the sons of God? Where was Eden and what really happened there? Was Noahs Flood a deliberate act, or an accident - or a little of both? The Underlying Hand weaves an elegant tale re-interpreting those beliefs with modern knowledge, creeping upon the reader into a highly plausible interpretation. It begins in a sci-fi theme but the reader soon comes to recognize that it is essentially a very human drama indeed the origins of humanity. Along the way is a fascinating adventure with ideas that are sure to cause much debate and remain with the reader long after the book is finished.
Hocus Pocus is a quartet of short children's stories: - the first about a dragon and a young boy's adventures, the 2nd about a mysterious museum and all its strange 'fartifacts', the 3rd about toy soldiers at play, followed lastly by 'Heartbeats and hoofbeats', and an island of wild horses who befriend a young teenager. All separate stories in themselves.
