Prayers and quotes of gratitude from the pages of this book, joined with the desire and willingness of our heart to "be helped", create a joining with the inner strength of the Holy Spirit, lifting our mind high above the battleground of judgement thoughts, to the lawns of heaven, where Holy Instants and revelation come through. As Cate awoke on New Years Day 2016, the Holy Spirit showed her a vision of the front cover of a Holy Spirit prayer book. She heard guidance that she would be writing these prayer books over "time" and each one would have a theme based on A Course in Miracles and to attach to a flower for easy recognition. These prayers demonstrate how to "pray" which is really an "asking" or "inviting Him" into our mind, to bring his wisdom and comfort. Cate started writing the prayers down but was not guided to publish them, until in 2020 Shannon contacted Cate, sharing that she felt Jesus guiding her to offer to help Cate in any way she asked. They both felt that were to work on finishing the prayer books and Shannon's part was to allow Him to show her what flower photos, design and quotes to bring forth. A wonderful collaboration ensued, which bought about the resulting beauty of the books. Designed and guided by the Holy Spirit to help you dear reader, to lift into the happiness and peace, that is Home. The Holy Spirits purpose for these prayers is to "Let these prayers nourish the desert of the unawakened mind with the living waters of God's Love". In this prayer book are prayers helping the reader to invite the Holy Spirit into their mind, interspersed with quotes of gratitude from A Course in Miracles that work together to shift the minds perception, which is the Miracle!. Simply read each prayer quietly and slowly, allowing the words to bring the experience in. Feel willing to hear the Holy Spirit. Give time over to silence. Don't rush and read them all at once. Take your time to let the living waters of truth wash away all the dusty thoughts. Cate Grieves is a spiritual teacher of A Course in Miracles. "To teach is to demonstrate", so Cate is a teacher by her demonstration of love, peace, wisdom and joy that extends effortlessly through her to all. She is deeply connected to her inner guide, the Holy Spirit and lives by this guidance. Cate speaks at international conferences, writes for Miracle Worker magazine, writes on facebook, facilitates workshops, retreats, courses and Satsangs. Cate lives in Melbourne, Australia.

A trans pastor’s transformation of the Scripture inherited from his closeted, fundamentalist father When his dad died, Malcolm Himshoot inherited his father’s bibles. Rereading them, examining his dad’s notes in their margins, Malcolm weaves details of his upbringing and gender identity into the structures and forms of biblical narratives. For Malcolm, coming out meant exile and verbal excommunication; he embodied all his gay father tried to hide. In Reading Secrets, Malcolm travels alongside the ghost of his father, exploring their inherited homophobia and the American culture that shaped their triumphs and tragedies. With these poetic and evocative meditations, Malcolm transforms the Scripture he inherited, and finds a place in it for himself.

Where’s my primate?  But that question must wait......Rory's in a tight spot. Technically, she's in a lab refrigerator, hiding for her life.  Who just stormed the primate facility with a gun leaving the lab tech Andy, shot through the neck, dead in a pool of his own blood?  For Rory, survival consists of folding herself into the only hiding place available to live another day, affording her the opportunity to search for answers to the violence raging around her. And of course, the mystery of her missing research chimpanzee.  A quiet life in Columbus, Ohio is upended as scientist Rory Green finds herself playing the part of sleuth, searching for one of her company’s kidnapped primates as the authorities’ disinterest and dragging feet make life unbearable.  Absent colleagues and antagonistic bosses aren’t helping either.    Rory’s research involves animal/human communication.  At one time a hot field in military research,it  is now in the hands of a small group of scientists dedicated to the behavior and techniques of interspecies understanding. This core of scientists, at one time, included her late father and one of his associates Dr. Porter, a professor at Butler University and Rory’s “adopted” intellectual mother.  As she struggles to find clues, Rory recruits old and new friends to help, and in the process digs up shocking secrets that threaten to blow up more in her life than her scientific endeavors, endangering the primates around her–both human and chimpanzee.

From the award winning author of Waiting… Promises are like tilapia from Lake Victoria – glittering, evasive… slippery.Adjuna and Kagaba have scraped, begged, and borrowed money from friends and family to afford one airplane ticket and papers to travel to London.  Educated in economics but unable to find work in his home country of Uganda, Kagaba plans to live in the United Kingdom at the behest of his uncle who has promised to find him a good job, and quickly.   As Kagaba rushes to meet his flight out of Kampala, Ajuna, feeling sick, is warned by her sister-in-law to get checked out for malaria.  With her husband now ensconced on the other side of the planet,  Ajuna collapses and is rushed to the hospital only to discover life altering circumstances. Worried that the tenuous ties that keep them married will unravel during a separation that spans continents, Ajuna turns to friends and family for support. As her loneliness grows, the lines between help and something more begin to blur.      In the United Kingdom, Kagaba fights to overcome his limited visa and clarify his immigration status.  Desperate to find work to care for Ajuna and to pay off debts, Kagaba confronts a maze of rules, bureaucracy, and frightening detention centers. This bewildering underbelly of immigration enforcement and the crooked systems developed to evade deportation have spawned a shadow world of exploitation and a class of people that live in constant fear on the legal margins.  In the pressure cooker of London’s immigrant community, Kagaba finds friends who can help – but to accept, he may unintentionally give up more of himself than Ajuna will tolerate.  Who we are and the relationships and promises we keep or break are profoundly tested by circumstance and small twists of fate. A heartfelt book that details the unintended consequences of fighting for a better life.

Bokang’s life is falling apart as his family spirals into poverty and conflict over his father's gambling and alcohol addiction.  Bokang Damane is a talented outsider, a dreamer, at his prestigious school.  His problems mount after writing an essay – not even a controversial essay – on racial or political issues. Just a short paper on suicide. Really? Talk about drama.  Now life is just a slog of unsolvable problems. Problem #1: Not black enough for the black kids and too black for the white kids. Yep, that’s what happens when you attend a pompous all boys’ school and live in the suburbs. Problem #2: Family finances are a joke – they can’t even afford Bokang’s initiation as a Xhosa. How can he function without respect, respect that only a Xhosa man commands after the weeks-long initiation ordeal in the countryside? Problem #3: An alcoholic, gambling attorney for a father who expects the world to bend to his will or fist.  Bokang just wants to rap, sketch, and be left alone. Everyone keeps talking about Bokang reaching his true potential, but everyone also keeps getting in the way. So what happens? Boy meets girl – a beautiful girl, Nokwanda.  It wouldn’t be a story otherwise. But she comes with her own set of issues. Most of all, Napoleon, her hulking on again, off again boyfriend who has been known to assuage his jealousies with a good old-fashioned beat-down.It’s a fight to find the flow – a spark to rise above the raging seas of family strife and school pressure and discover a path, though fraught with danger, into the future.

From Author Jane Kurtz, winner of the school Library Journal Best Of The Year and numerous other awards. In verse, Oh Give Me a Home relates the story of a girl’s inside-out view of America as she journeys from Ethiopia, searches for friends and belonging. In elementary school, Jane knows that Maji, Ethiopia, cool and green, perched on a mountainside of waterfalls and monkeys, is the perfect place to live. Or it would be perfect if she had a pet or a best friend.  Jane is full of ideas that include schemes for an animal to play with. A real pet, not the dik dik that dies, the monkey that tries to bite her fingers, nor the elusive cat that lives in the shed and has just absconded with her litter of kittens.  But her plans are derailed as Jane learns she is to move back to America with her family.  America and Africa collide as Jane tries to answer the simple question, “Where am I from?” Entering grade school in suburban America for the first time, will she find a best friend a continent away from her real life in Africa? Or is America–where she meets her relatives for laughter and frolicking and big holiday meals–her real home?

Troubled Depths is a thought-provoking and insightful collection of short stories that explores the complexities of the human experience as seen through the lens of traditionally non-conforming genders. Dr. Rose Petrohilos' fluid approach identification and her focus on the subjective experience of each individual make this book a good choice for anyone interested in exploring the complexities of gender as it applies to us all on an emotional level. This book is meant to be a bit of an earth-shattering disruption in the force, and while it might not entirely accomplish this, it is guaranteed to leave you scratching your head and will leave you saying "Huh?!". Which, let's be honest, is pretty much what talking to the author in the real world would feel like as well. So perhaps the real audience for this book is just pretty much everyone who would like to be more confused, have less clarity and genuinely question reality a bit more than they currently do. The stories in this collection are funny, sad, scary and bizarre. They are written in a variety of styles and tones, andthe unifying theme, such as there is one, is that you are what you make of yourself and that you should have the courage to define your own identity. It's meant to make you think about the pain and joy related to gender, the challenges of discovering one's identity, and the complexities of human relationships.
