Jaded by the judgmental people from her past, Elizabeth Strutton ends up relocating halfway across the country after heartbreak caused by a devastating life-ending accident, with her three-year-old twins in tow. Hoping to move on but still carrying the hurt she brought with her, Elizabeth focuses on creating a new life for the three of them while doing her best to keep people at a distance. Despite her best efforts, she finds that the people she meets and the town of Spring View, North Carolina, itself just might be a place she can truly call home. From a very young age, Lucas Walker knew what his future looked like, that is until life threw him a curveball. His plans of playing professional baseball ended after fighting for his life--twice--ultimately leading him to become one of the two lead pastors in his local church and completely dedicating his life to Christ.God clearly knew what He was doing all along, and from the very beginning, as the two meet and are forced to deal with past hurts, Elizabeth's struggle with forgiveness, and the unexpected feelings they have for one another right from the start. Will this family that God put together step out in faith and accept that life for the four of them was just beginning?
We have all heard ourselves saying these American proverbs. They are as American as apple pie, peanut butter and jelly, and hamburgers. This book shines a bright light into the truth and meaning behind these common sayings of ours. Now using the lens of the Bible to help us see these statements through dialogue, we can understand more accurately if American proverbs contain the truth. The stories are often comical and whimsical but always get to the heart of the matter. As you read each American proverb and the story, you will want to share them with family and friends, and in so doing, you will be imparting the life-changing truths of the Scriptures.
The Bible--God's inspired, unerring, and infallible Word--is truly His instruction manual for life and a moral compass for us all to live by. It tells us what is good, what is bad, what is right, and what is wrong.Unfortunately, many people believe that the Bible is no longer relevant today and was only applicable in biblical times. The Bible itself tells us quite the opposite. The issues and problems we face today are essentially the same as those faced by man in biblical times. Human nature has not changed, and God has not changed! Only the times have changed. The Bible has plenty to say about the issues people encounter every day, from the beginning of life to the end of life. I have addressed many of these in this book: "The Evidence of God's Existence;" "Who Was and Is Jesus;" "Being Saved;" "Forgiveness;" "Trials and Tribulations;" "What Happens When You Die;" "Families and Fathers;" "Humility;" "Worrying;" "Depression;" "The Environment and Nature;" "Racism;" "Abortion;" "Homosexuality;" "Adultery;" "Transgenderism;" "Alcohol, Drugs, and Addiction;" "The Death Penalty;" "The Right to Bear Arms;" "Government;" "Leadership;" "Man's Laws and God's Laws;" "Suicide;" "Money and the Rich;" "Natural Disasters;" "Satan;" "Demons and the Supernatural; "Creation, the Biblical Timeline, and the Age of the Universe;" and others.People today are pretty much the same as people were in biblical times. Basic human nature and the human condition (being born into sin) have not changed. We face the same challenges, the same temptations, and the same trials and tribulations as the early Christians did. The Bible contains advice and guidance on every possible issue or situation we face, if we only look to it for that guidance and direction and pray to God for wisdom and discernment. In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began. (Titus 1:2)That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. (Hebrews 6:18)All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. (Isaiah 40:8)Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8-9)For I am the Lord, I change not. (Malachi 3:6) Finally, you/we should read the Bible like a love letter, not a textbook! John 3:16 tells us, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Reading what Thomas Jefferson said in the Declaration of Independence--"All Men Are Created Equal"--and the Constitution of the United States, framed and adopted in 1787 and put into effect in March 1789, I want to know if those fundamental laws and principles that are supposed to govern the operation of our states are annulled for people of color.I wrote this book because I needed to say this again and out loud. I want to know if anyone is listening. Are we going to continue to ignore these laws and principles written to govern the United States by our forefathers? If so, please reconsider. We are the people of these United States. We are citizens made equally by our God.
Rick Logan was a long time rock and roll star or more of a twinkle at this stage in his career. His venues may have diminished, but his dedication and enthusiasm were still as strong as ever. He had just finished a gig in a casino in Tennessee and was on his way to North Carolina in a borrowed 1964 Ferrari 250 LM, when he had a run in with the local law. He was sentenced to thirty days of community service and became a ward of the Mountain Pines Nursing Home.Evelyn Burton was the director of the Mountain Pines Nursing Home Alzheimer's Facility. She was very excited about having an in-house rock star to perform and help with the production of her annual Christmas Pageant. It was her recommendation that Rick Logan be placed under her supervision.Rita Beckwith was Evelyn's head nurse. She did not share Evelyn's optimism nor her enthusiasm. Actually, she thought Evelyn was delusional. She failed to see how an egomaniac with no concept of Alzheimer's or Dementia could be anything but a disaster. She was quite sure Evelyn could not rehabilitate Rick Logan and found the whole thing very menacing.Everything in this story actually happened.

The Father's Words: The Light to Our Path reminds how life is a journey filled with joy, sorrow, and unforeseen circumstances. Learning how to navigate through each one is a journey in itself. Each personal story tells how easy it is to misinterpret the events in life and how that leads to inaccurate perceptions. Though many events in our pasts are good, many find us over our heads in uncharted waters scrambling to come out on the other side. However, we come to learn if we allow those experiences to guide our thoughts, we remain victims who are perpetually trapped by the walls we construct for safety, confused by what we think defines us, or constantly searching for purpose. There is a place, God's Word, where we learn that He is our Father, our Creator, who continually oversees His creation, counsels us with His eye on us, and faithfully guides to redeem us to Himself through His Son, Jesus. Every verse presented in these pages tells how God as the Father uses His words to align His children's perspectives, thoughts, and hearts to His. Discover for yourself how He proves by His words that He can be known and trusted. Allow them to be the light to your path to direct and conform you more into the likeness of His Son as you journey through life.

For when you do, He will jump at the opportunity to share the day He specifically planned for you! Keep your thoughts entwined in a running conversation with Him, thanking Him for His eagerness to share your day, and for helping you to be your best in all you do. It was a hot summer day, and a boy is playing on the steps of a local church in his neighborhood. He checks the door to see if it's open, looking for a drink of water or a temporary escape from the heat of the day. The door opens, introducing a beautiful garden. As he begins to explore, he meets talking animals and the first man. Later he meets the Creator Himself and discovers that the Creator had been looking for him. He also meets a serpent-type creature that follows him out of the garden and tries to make his life a wreck. W. J. Bear writes his own story of things that have happened in his young life. He is a normal young bear cub, ready to go at a moment's notice. He is almost human but still a bear. WJ and his sister QT are part of a normal bear family. Mom and Dad have two letters for their names, too, but WJ just calls them Mom and Dad, which helps keep things simple. Simple is always better for WJ.Then things get complicated. The food supply starts getting low, and the family has to move. Where will they go, and what will happen to them? Dad is taking care of everyone, including WJ and sister Q T.Come along with me, and see what life is like for a little mischievous bear cub named W. J. Bear.
Why do we have the freedom to choose? What are the choices we make? Why do we make certain decisions? How do we reason and select or evaluate our choices to make life work for us? Or is it about us? Pro-Choice, Pro-God, Pro-Life: A Multiple-Choice Answer for a Humanity Question addresses these inquiries and others.Choice is a fundamental freedom in a free society as opposed to a dictatorship. Choice has always been a God-given ability for angelic beings and humans. Lucifer and the heavenly host exercised their ability to choose long before God created humankind. Two-thirds of the angelic beings decided to stay on God's side, and one-third decided to rebel with Lucifer. What we choose and why we make the selections are critical to the success of life. Taking away one's fundamental right to choose creates rebellion, discord, strife, and a form of slavery. Although God may allow it, however, it is not his desire for us.Teaching and influencing people how to make better choices is key to having a better society. In Pro-Choice, Pro-God, Pro-Life: a Multiple-Choice Answer for a Humanity Question, you will explore why we as a nation must be committed to establishing and promoting better choice-making abilities, based upon proven biblical truths, and the need for embracing God's grace for overcoming past mistakes. We are a violent, sexually addicted society with a bent toward self-destruction. We cannot afford to leave our future to chance or politicians who have figured out how to manipulate the emotions of the country for their gain. By exercising our God-given ability to choose correctly, we become competently equipped as a nation to be pro-choice, pro-God, and pro-life for our humanity.
My view: This manuscript (soon-to-be-published book), I'm sure is truly a love story. It is spiritual, romantic, serious, instructional, and informative; and throughout the book reads like a love letter to God and to the author's husband-to-be, and now husband, Kelma. There were a couple or more statements in the manuscript (journal entries) that really made me chuckle. I read those about three times because I enjoyed the lightheartedness of the author, as well as my own hearty laughter, which felt very good. I'm pretty certain that this will have the same effect on other readers, as well. My sincerest thanks to the author for asking me to be among the first persons to read her manuscript. I am indeed honored. There's a subtle hint that this manuscript, once published, may be the first in a series of inspirational books, packed with love and appreciation for God, her husband, her family, and others.--Perlene P. MontgomeryThis is my personal account of the author's relationship with God, her spouse, and her ministry. Through the pages of her revealing inspirational book, Mrs. Gloria Howell-Mason presents a unique acknowledgment of God's purpose, mission, and vision for her life. In this literary record, she declares her determination to trust Jesus as she joyfully seeks to please Him daily and to inspire others to grow deeper in the love and higher in the spirit of Jesus---Audrey L. ByrdI am so honored to have been asked to read this wonderful book. What a delightful, caring, funny story. Follow Elder Gloria Mason on her journey through love loss and love again, a greater love than she would have ever known--love for God, love for family, love for the one that God has for her, as well as love for the plan he is revealing to her. It is a beautiful reminder that if we wait on the Lord, he will make all things new and exciting.--Prophetess Joyce WashingtonI thought the book was magnificent. It's a blessing to me to have lived long enough to find out how talented my daughter is and to read a book that she wrote.A. Why is it so hard to find God, Or should I say, Why is it so hard for God to find you? There are. Those who say, "I Read the Bible often, But Can't Understand it, So I Quickly Lose Interest in it, Then I find myself Seeking a Church, and a Man of God to help me get closer to God, This after a while did not do it for me, So I left the Church, feelings even more depressed than before; Is it really that hard to make a Connection with our God? I been told by others that he said, "that he love all, and wishing that none should perish; Well why is it so hard to find him if he love us? Is our God speaking out of both sides of his mouth? I mean he did say it is impossible for him to lie, He also said what comes out of my mouth can't return void; it that is the case then, you need took at your self, and at your attempts to see what you are doing wrong; less Review, You first Started Reading the Bible, How much time did you spend reading the Bible, once a week, every other month, are just doing hollow days, did I give up my friends who were still involved in daily activities that goes against the Laws, and Commandments of God, Did you give up going to places that God would disapproval, like bars, nightclubs, where you find half nacked woman's, sliding down a pole, How about going out gambling, looking at trying to get rich, and then becoming hooked, spending money you don't have, money that could have been spent on other things, your kids, bills; Now can you see why it was so hard to understand the Bible? Could it be that you are not given your all? Less now put you on the right track, God says seek him first, and all things will be added,, all you need to do is to knock, Asked, and Seek, in the door will be opened; Next you say that you went as far as attending a church, and a minister to bring you closer to God, Let me say this all ministers are not call by God, In other words it is just as bad to hear the words of God from one who is not call to lead you even further from the truth, It's like the blind leading the blind and they both fall into a ditch; One sure way to know that you have made a Connections with God, Is when you seek him daily, Reading his words for yourself, and keeping all of his Laws, and Commandments, by you doing this you show Him that you are truly sincere about knowing him, This is when God releases His Spirit of understanding to your mind, but in small portions, and the more you read his words, the more knowledge is revealed,
The Son and Holy Spirit debuted as a couple in Genesis 1:1-2. From the beginning, the Son and Spirit have worked in tandem to accomplish the will of Their Father. The Spirit brought and sustained life to the Son's creative work. The Spirit's divine nature was revealed in the first name given, the Spirit of God. The Hebrew word for Spirit, Ruach, is feminine, representing the female counterpart of Yahweh. The essence of the Spirit's work was established in select words found in the names and metaphors attributed to the Spirit. A journey through the historical narrative of the Bible reveals a coupling of the Son and Holy Spirit at least sixty-six times through the sharing of names and titles. At times, the names of the Son and Spirit are conjoined like a married couple. At the end of the age, the Son will unveil the feminine Spirit at the marriage of the Lamb and Dove.

Following God's footsteps and the mystery of God's will in Christian life and walk can be a daunting task. Multitudes of voices, life choices, and sociocultural options and challenges make it hard for one to perceive and understand clearly when God is truly speaking and what does His message entails. Thus, like Abraham, it may require an absolute departure from the habitual way of life to a far-out city, country, or region where God can start with us anew. Also, we must be willing to surrender our will to God's will and follow in His footstep wherever He may lead in daily life. Now that requires self-sacrifice and applied humility--a practical death to self.At times it's about listening to God's voice through a moral, spiritual, or ministerial decision. Other times it's just about family life crises, or it can be regarding political or social issues. God's will happens when we commit to listen to His word and apply it to practical life effortlessly for His sake. This author lived through it all and acknowledges that God's will is about following in His footsteps in every area of life--however mysterious or difficult it may appear. God's purpose for our lives' journey is already set in heaven--surrendering to His purpose will lead to a very content, satisfying, and joyful life regardless the challenges we experience throughout our lifetime. This autobiography will challenge you to begin exploring God's footsteps in different facets of your own life and intentionally pursue His mysterious plan.
All of us experience times of joy and sorrow, times of success and failure, and times of doubt and certainty. In our lives on earth, we need to ask ourselves why we are here and what purpose does God have for us. Life is a journey. In my life, I have had the moments referred to, and my guiding light has been a belief in God and Jesus, his only begotten Son. I am not a priest or preacher, but I do have some experiences that each of you readers can relate to. My purpose in writing this autobiography is to tell you about them and hope that they will interest you and, if you need it, help you in troubled times. Modern times are truly testing all of us, and many people have turned away from God. This is a sad occurrence, and I pray that my book will convince some of you who have doubts that God does love us, cares about us, and will help us when he ask for it. God bless you, and I hope my journey will enrich your faith. Without that, we are like a ship sailing with no compass.
Once upon a time, fairies and trolls roamed the earth, and mankind was a friend to all. The world was at peace. Then great battles ensued for the right to rule the earth. The words will capture and arrest you as she so eloquently brings fiction, nonfiction, and exaggerated truths together in a way that you will never expect!Grace is a Christian fiction novel filled with examples of faith, trust, and God's grace and forgiveness, as quoted in the books of Jeremiah 29:11 and Colossians 3:13. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you, not to harm you, but to give you hope and an expected end." This passage of Scripture confirms that God determines the plans for our lives, which brings a reassurance of comfort and peace if we trust and obey His plan. Colossians 3:13 teaches us about forgiveness and grace. Extending grace to another person simply means to forgive them unconditionally, just as God forgave us through Christ. "Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you" (Colossians 3:13 NIV).Grab a good, comfortable spot and get ready to experience a realistic look into some of the most intriguing relationship challenges and unexpected twists and turns.
