At 538 pounds, Rick Salewske lived a small life that consisted of his job, his house, and his car--and he was very close to no longer fitting into his car. His stomach rubbing on the steering wheel had already worn a threadbare line across his pants. Often ridiculed by total strangers, he felt humiliated and very much alone. Rick had been raised in a traditional Catholic family, but his relationship with God was more of a distant, respectful belief than an up-close and personal experience. He couldn't fit into a church pew and most definitely not into a confessional booth. What Rick didn't know was that even then, God was actively pursuing him, even when Rick was not pursuing God at all. When Rick's weight cost him a chance at his dream job, God would lead him on a journey that would reach the mountaintops of national television appearances and even the New York Marathon, but his own poor choices would plunge him back down to a valley leading nowhere. It was in that valley that Rick eventually looked up and recognized God's hand in his life. When he learned to keep his eyes on God, the life God intended him to lead finally came into focus. His path was not always smooth or straight. But learning to put his full trust in the Lord led Rick to be less than half and more than twice the man he used to be.

Laura Brookline, a city-streetwise detective, and her twin sister, Sara, a compassionate US Army nurse, got more than they bargained for when they won an all-expenses-paid summer vacation. Even before arriving in the seemingly peaceful resort town of Rogers Cove, New Jersey, they evade an attempted kidnapping and discover they're atop an unknown enemy's dark web hit list. In Rogers Cove, as threats mount, they team up with a local cop, Greg Waller, and his pal, Stewy Bishop--both veterans with visible and invisible war wounds. As attempts on their lives continue, new allies--including federal agents and agencies, another target of the assassins, a college professor, a retired physician, and some town locals--join the battle against a series of killers eager to collect the bounty on the twins. While countering the most professional and sadistic assassin, Monique Dumas, who in many guises, relentlessly stalks the twins, Stewy and Greg wrestle with the scars of war, Laura must confront her shattered faith in God, and Sara finds unexpected sacrificial love in a cauldron of lethal events. Each sister ultimately learns that their danger is in her eyes--one blue and one brown--making them the prime targets of shadowy, satanic, and powerful forces paying top dollar for their demise.
The Greek term that Matthew uses to quote Jesus's call for us to be perfect is the same word used by St. Paul and St. Peter in their letters which we translate as mature. St. Paul tells us we are called to the "complete measure of the stature" that belongs to Christ: spiritual, emotional, moral, and intellectual maturity. How do we get there? Our Lord also teaches we are to be forgiving "seventy times seven times." Does anyone find that easy? We are also called to examine our own consciences to discover if we need to "leave our gifts at the altar" and go and make amends. Now there is a challenge. In this book, Fr. Tuohey uses Scripture, the writing of the early church fathers, his professional experience, the Twelve Steps of AA, and his personal struggles with Jesus's call to perfection to share the insights he has gained. They are shared here in the hopes it might be helpful to others as well.

As I locked my office door after a long day of counseling, out of the corner of my eye, I saw his car speeding down the road turning into the church parking lot. He slammed on his brakes and threw open the car door. He came running toward me; his eyes were bulging with anger and his face was beet red. The look on his face, I will never forget. He was going to kill me. He told me in the very beginning when I met with him and his wife; his first words out of his mouth were, "I will kill anybody who tries to take my wife away from me." Today was the day I finally got her away from him, and he was on a rampage to kill me. As he came running to me, I was petrified. I knew he would kill me. The Lord immediately told me, "Don't run. Run to him!" As I ran to him, I opened my arms to hug him. He stopped and hugged me, melting in my arms in return; he began to weep. "She's gone, she's gone," he cried. I began to tell him that everything would be okay. She needed a break, and she would be back. I took him to the office and prayed with him until he felt better.Peggy's and Gene's life has been spent through years of taking in women and girls needing homes, counseling, and protecting them from harm. Their experiences of helping hundreds of women and girls led Peggy to enter the world of prison ministry. Her experiences visiting and counseling women in incarceration have been her life's calling. His journeys were epic and his life of service teaching the message of the Messiah, Jesus, are inspiring. His transformation from Saul to Paul is nothing less than miraculous.
After several interactions with Muslims of distinct sects in the Bronx community, NYC schools, and the workplace through the decades, Aryeh observed how some professing Christians were led to believe in the Islamic claim of Muhammad's legitimacy as a prophet. Although a few maintained the belief that Jesus remained holy as a "prophet," they suggested he was a mere man and abandoned their past confessions regarding his divinity. Nevertheless, the more astounding claim many ex-Christians and Muslims made suggested that the Jewish and Christian God found in the Bible identified as the same deity of the Qur'an. Hence, these claims above initiated the primary reasons for delving deep into the study of Islam and writing this book for the sake of not only reaching many believers who erred from Christianity but the Muslims who believed that Allah identified as the God of the Jews and Christians. Indeed, the enormous task of disproving Islam as an extension of the Abrahamic faith required many investigations into the questions raised by such astonishing claims. This book makes deep inquiries into the historical and theological assertions found in the Islamic faith concerning Allah, Muhammad, and the religious practices observed today, which have survived for little over fourteen centuries.Consequentially, the unfortunate misconceptions taught about Islam in many church pulpits since the early days of this researcher's youth stemmed from books found in academia and some Christian libraries, which promoted a worldwide narrative by selective, favorable historical accounts based on political ideologies instead of rigorous theological investigation. The Christian perspective on Islam examines the theological origins of the Islamic faith by first investigating the geographical locations alleged as the nascent religion's early beginnings by exploring the historical and societal development of the Arab peoples. Second, this book probes the legitimacy of Muhammad as a divinely ordered prophet by consulting the Judaic traditions derived from the Jewish Scriptures explaining the qualifications of authentic prophethood. Finally, the sequential order of inquiry laid out above will highlight the emergence of the theology and residual religious rituals observed today in the Islamic world, and therefore, conclusively demonstrate that Islam remains unaligned with its Jewish and Christian predecessors.
This book looks at today's social issues by what the Word of God says. God gave us rules to live by, and we have turned away. The more we disregard and turn away, the worse it gets. The world is an evil, scary place for our children and grandchildren to grow up and live. My goal is to share what the Bible says. The Word of God doesn't change to fit what we want. We have to change our minds to line up with God if we want any help for this world. Everyone will die someday. Where do we want to live our eternity?

Tammy--Each day is a journey. Millie's morning devotions are so inspiring and encouraging to me. As her thoughts and experiences are applied to the Scripture--it gives me a new perspective for each day. Millie's words come so naturally, and I know it is her Love for the Lord. These devotions help me to stay focused on my journey with my life and my Love for the Lord.Jessica--I enjoy the morning thoughts. Millie began writing the morning thoughts when COVID began. In such uncertain times it was nice to have a devotional come through reminding us to stay connected to God. Everything--big or little--can be related to God and you can see God working in everything if you just take the time to look and listen to what message the Lord is sending to you and that's what the morning thoughts do for me. I always try to see God in everything and when Millie sends out our messages, it's another refreshing way to open my mind to how much the Lord loves us and cares for us. And as Millie shares them with us, we can send them to others and spread the loving message of the gospel in a way that others understand and enjoy as well. God BlessJack--I would like to say that I like to read your little stories about when you and Mitzi go on your days walk. You talk about the weather, the people see, the flowers, workers along the way and how it reminds you of scripture sayings. I really do enjoy them. Thank you for sharing them.Bob and Joyce--We have been reading Millie's Devotionals for several years now and for us they are very uplifting. They seem to address all the things that are happening in our everyday lives. And out of the darkness of times, today they are a bright spot in our day.Jim and Melissa--We are amazed at how this sweet, kind soul has opened our eyes, through word, to God's presence- not only on a good day but difficult days as well.Rich and Lori--"Praise God for Miss Millie's devotion to Christ. These Holy Spirit. inspired writings with concise, detailed connections from everyday experiences help us realize that our God is in every moment. Such a blessing!"Pastor Jeannine--"I love these devotions because I can read and understand them easily; and I can relate so many of them to situations in my own life as well as others. I anticipate reading the next one and the next one. A daily blessing!"Kevin--Oh, how lucky I am. And a reminder of how humble I need to be. Daily inspirations with a lesson and guidance from the scriptures of our Lord. Walks with Millie and Mitzi...smiles abound! Everyday messages that speak to splendor of life, or a description of nature's creations, that are around us. A counsel for us to have empathy to hardships and sorrows that others may face. Pausing in my daily tasks--for in each message I may find comfort and some joy, a need to grin, or a need to pray for others, or even a reflection I find I need to take on myself. And how fortunate I am, receiving multiple blessings in each message, as I receive a thought in my own journey with the Lord and a daily walk with her--my mom!
We all tell a story as we walk through the pages and chapters of our lives. Mine began in Farmersville, a small Texas town outside of Dallas. In those early days of my youth, I attended the great tent revivals of the 1950s. The atmosphere in these services was electrifying as the glory of God fell upon the place.I witnessed unbelievable miracles of healing; some happened in my own family. These experiences caused a longing to know God more intensely. I wanted to be used by Him and obey His every command, no matter how out of the ordinary His directions might be.Each chapter of this book is filled with life lessons to help build your faith and encourage you to do what God asks of you. As you do, watch Him open supernatural doors that men cannot open or close.Travel with me to a hospital room where a young man lies in a coma on his deathbed. Watch God bring him back to life. Leaving pride behind, stand up with me in a busy restaurant and get the attention of all present. Speak a word of encouragement to a military troupe about to leave for war.Follow my footsteps through the sands of Egypt and see what Joseph saw. Stand in awe as you explore the ancient archeological ruins of Petra in southern Jordan. Travel with me to the land of biblical Israel and walk where Jesus walked. Go with me to Italy and stroll through the frozen city of Pompeii, buried under the volcanic ashes of Vesuvius. Experience the magnificence of France, England, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, and many more. Let's go to the busy streets of New York City, home of Lady Liberty. Dine with me and with the rich and famous in Hollywood. In every place, God is always present with a lesson to be learned. I have lived a colorful life, to say the least. Each chapter of my life is filled with events, which I hope will inspire you and build your faith as you travel down life's highways.
This is a study book, a research book. It is about Anunnaki in the Bible. The sources are given on each page as needed. It is a little over one hundred thirty-eight pages. The first few chapters are all about the evidence and sources, and as the book develops, opinions begin to be given built on that. And it is the evidence and sources that give the opinions their validity, such as Anunnaki are a race of extraterrestrials from another planet. If you want to know if ETs exist, you have got to read this book.As you read, you will also find the Anunnaki are inextricably part of the overall message of the Bible. Ironically, it is the Anunnaki who give validity to that message. If you read this book, it will expand your ideas about reality in ways you probably never dreamed of because that is what learning about ETs in the Bible does.

My name is Richard Smyth, and this is my story. I was raised from ten sisters and six brothers, and yes, I did have a mother at the time I was being raised up. I was never good at school, so I did quit it. I was too young to work, so I tried to get in the army, but since I was too young, I had to get my mother's permission. The army took me, but that did not last long at all. They said to me, "You have to go back home."I said, "Why?"They said to me, "All your brothers are at war, and we have to leave one home so that the last name must go on."So they sent me back home and said, "We're sorry, son. Maybe some other time."When I got back home, I got a job at Ford Motor Co. I stayed there for five years. Now I am married and have five wonderful kids--three girls and two boys--but life has its ups and downs. Again I was working and taking care of my kids and taking care of my wife too. I said to God, "When is it going to stop?" He never answered me. Any time I was going by in my life, it got even worse in my life. I started asking, "How can I stop feeling the way I do?" I was driving down the road, hoping when I go through this red light, it would be all over, but nothing happened, so again I yelled out to God and said, "Take me from this miserable life," and ran through the red light. Again nothing happened. Then something happened to my life. There was a call from the police. They told me I needed to come in and give my statement, so I did. The police had no evidence on what happened; it was hearsay--she said, he said. But don't get me wrong, this was my way out of this life. So I took it, and before I knew it, a new life started.I went to prison for ten years and loved every bit of it. I went back to school every day for eight hours and took up A A, N-A classes . I even took up Bible classes too. As I graduated from all the courses, I had a lot of time on my hands now. I started praying to God, "What do you want me to do?" I then started looking through the Bible and found my days and nights were going by fast.Next day I went to the library to learn more about this man they called Jesus. Before I knew it, I was reading all kinds of Bibles. From the time I got locked up, I never once forgot about my kids. Every day I wrote to each one and told them, "I love you all, but God has a mission for me."The next day I was led to go back to the library and get some Bible off the shelves, and I did. As I was reading, my heart told me to write it down, so I did for about ten years. Now everything is on scripts. It was about ten thousand pages. Then I met this man, and he told me, "This is way too many pages. You need to break it down some."So I did. Then I let this man look at what I had left. He said to me, "Break it down more."Now I was getting so flabbergasted. I said, "What are you doing to me?"The man told me, "You just got to trust me. I know what I'm doing. If you send all of your paperwork in, they will throw it away. It is too much for them to read."So again I watered it down for them to read. I got done; the man said it's ready. So I put all my scripts away and waited for God. God granted my parole and sent me home to my kids, where I finished this book. It was in 2017 when I got done with it. I sat on it for five years, then my dreams started for about a week, the same dreams over and over. So I sent it to the Christian Faith Publishing Inc.
Keepsakes: The Heart Series is a journey from fear into freedom, written for women everywhere who struggle with never being good enough to be loved. It is my story, but it is also the story of so many like me, searching for confidence and peace.I remember thinking, Lord, it is so unfair if you return when I am having a bad day or I'm not being as good as I should be or if I didn't score enough points that day to get into heaven. Like so many, I lived in subtle fear that my life was judged on an invisible scale, with each deed being measured against perfection.Once I understood, when I accepted Christ, God's son, into my heart, I was saved; I was going to heaven! I could never be good enough--on my bad days or my good days--to get into heaven, but Christ inside me could. That's when I stopped focusing on myself and my performance, and I started understanding who God was.And I now get to lean on, depend on, talk to, and cry with my King every day on my special journey of life. He knows my every thought, my every motivation, my every deed; he knows my ugly, and he still loves me. Not like the love from childhood, where I had to be perfect to be accepted, but an unconditional, never-ending love. He walks hand in hand with me through every season--no scales, just a hand holding mine.My purpose in writing is simply this: that you who believe in God's Son will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you have eternal life, the reality and not the illusion. And how bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will, sure that he is listening. And if we are confident that he is listening, we know that what we have asked for is as good as ours. (1 John 5:13-15)
