It is also a story about how the spirit of Jesus manifested at critical times to guide the author to safety and give him the clarity of vision and strength to go on. The author shares intimate details about his relationship with each of his parents and psychological insight into how that set him up for cult life. He also explains the doctrine of Reverend Sun Myung Moon, leader of the Unification Church, comparing that doctrine to the teachings of Jesus. Finally, the author tells what happened to each of the key players in this story and offers his closing thoughts on the lessons he learned from all of this so that you can gain this wisdom.

Sometimes we want wings of celebration for birthdays, holidays, and such. Other times we need wings of transition to carry us through times like changing locations, illness, the loss of a loved one, or other challenging times. And on occasion we just want wings of encouragement and inspiration to help us grow. The words in this book are intended to help you "find your wings" and elevate your heart.

Though I've been writing poems since high school, I wasn't published till 1987.This book is a combination of poems from that book and others I've been writing in the past few years.Most of the poems come from events around me, either that I've experienced or that others have related to me.As you read these, you might even find that you also have experienced the same at different times of your life.

Going from being angry at God to falling on my knees to repent for years of misdirected anger, dealing with a head injury that caused me to have to learn how to read again, to countless injuries, a near-death experience to becoming the biggest hypocrite of them all...what do all of these things have in common? God brought me through all of these issues. When the enemy attacks, we need to cling to God, not run away from him.I was saved at the very young age of nine. I truly did not understand what this meant at that time. I would learn as I grew up, and I would consider the church that I attended on my own (my family wanted nothing to do with church at that point in time) as my refuge. It was my happy place. I loved being involved with church.Years later, I would go through something that made me angry at God, and that anger lasted far too long. Thankfully, a friend of mine would recommend something that would make me realize that my anger was misdirected. At that moment, I knew what I had to do. I had to pray and repent.A few years after this, my marriage looked as though it was too broken to save until God stepped in and did what I thought was impossible. He saved my marriage. He brought my husband and I back together, made us stronger, and we renewed our vows.

The reason for the title for book is this: some said we wouldn't make it, but God. I wanted people to know you can make it. People can say anything, but if you trust God, the sky is the limit. You prove that you can do it. Without trust and favor, you will fail. When you are being led by the Main Leader, you can do all things.

The Master and the Pot is an analogy of Jesus and the cross and God's love for all of us. As the master poured out his love for the broken pot, so did Jesus pour out His love for us. We are renewed by Christ's love and redemption.In our times, more than ever, Jesus is our hope and strength. Just as the pot is made new, so are we in Christ Jesus!

The Tree was born of unusual and tragic circumstances in the pre-Columbian prairie that would become Nebraska. As a young tree, it was fortunate that it was not the victim of a tornado or other weather denizens. Slaves fleeing the South looked for the bent branch on The Tree to point them correctly onto the North. But The Tree valued above all the ones that came to talk to it, finding its shade and shelter a haven for their thoughts and even a spoken word or two.The Tree still grows today, inviting others to come to its haven.

The greatest blessing in my life has been my journey to Jesus. It has greatly built my faith, hope, courage, understanding, and will to please God in all my ways. Romans 8:28 says, \"And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them that are the called according to His purpose. The trials and tribulations that I\'ve been through have been many, but the blessings from God have been more. God has pulled me out of situations where I have been on the brink of death several times. Some or all of those times He sent angels to protect me. Many times in prayer I asked God to help me to help myself so I can help others. He\'s given me the gift of faith and healing as a result. But as it is written, \"Eye has not seen nor ear heard, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.-1 Corinthians 2:9. This book I have written, Journey To Jesus, is to inspire and encourage others in the ways of the Lord. Should I blame Him for sending the hail in the rain? Or placing the thorns with the roses? He is hope in the valley when I\'m at my end. He\'s more than a man. I find no fault in Him. On my journey to Jesus I woke up one morning to quickly write down the words of a song that God gave me in a dream. The first verse and chorus says, \"There\'s a better day ahead, a better world we\'ll see. People everywhere are friends, there\'s peace and harmony. Someday, someday very soon. No pain, no tears, no troubles or fears. For the children of The King, when Jesus comes again. Someday very soon.\" The other two verses to this song are in this book, Journey To Jesus.

This is a story of my grandson, Josh, the great fisherman. He loved to go fishing with his Grampa. We would have some great advantages on our fishing trips together. This is about family, love, and friendship.

Several years ago, God began to speak to me in moments of silence where I was seeking His voice and through dreams. I needed to know what His plan was for my life because it felt like I was running in circles and hitting roadblocks. Life was tough, and it didn't seem like all the things I was doing for God and the church were helping make my path become clearer.During a debilitating fight with cancer, I was at my weakest, and I still heard Him speaking to me. God never leaves us and is always wooing us to the call He has for us. During the editing process of this book, I was attacked two more times with different cancers. First, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer and had to have part of my kidney removed. Then, during my recovery, after having an annual mammogram, I was told that I had breast cancer again and had to have a double mastectomy. These diagnoses have not deterred me because I know that God gave me "this day" as a stepping stone toward my "that day," and I will be obedient. Each new day is a step deeper into what He has for me. The devil seems to be trying to delay or stop this message from getting out, but all it has done is reiterated that through my storms and suffering God gets the glory! I have learned that in my weakness He shines more to those around me as I give Him honor for every blessing and continue to praise Him even through my sorrows. My faith grows because I know that as long as I am living, He is not done with me. It starts with saying, "This is the day I will begin to follow Christ with all of me no matter what comes my way." Over the past sixteen years, during my search for His calling, God has used dreams, people, and His still small voice to guide me through the process of writing this devotional.This book was written as God gave me revelation to the steps in finding my calling. I like to have things told to me straight and to the point. I feel God has given it to me in easy-to-understand, with-no-fluff guidelines. He knows what we need. I have heard from people of all ages desperate to have God give them an audible direction for their calling. We have to be in a place to hear Him, and I have outlined some of those for you.I had to walk through this devotional for my life to be able to finish it for you. Each chapter was another step for me to follow so I could see His direction clearly. There is a prayer for you and reflection questions with journaling space for your notes at the end of each section to help guide you on your journey with Christ. God has changed my heart, and I hope that you find your calling as you begin your "This day.""He has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace" (2 Timothy 1:9 NIV).
