Writing this book has been a lifetime endeavor but an enjoyable one. When we become born again, we all become ambassadors of Christ. I felt inspired by God's anointing to develop this work of rhyme and reason. I have focused on themes that God brought to me through many experiences in my Christian walk. My ever-growing faith and communication with God over many years have allowed me to develop what I hope is a work that will result in messages that will challenge the reader to draw nearer to God. The theme of the book is based on Acts 17:28:For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring.Acts 17:28 reveals to us a great truth. That truth tells us that without God we are nothing. It is because of Him and His love that we live and move and have our being. He is the source of life, and through His son, Jesus Christ, we can receive redemption. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. He that follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life." God's inspiration and anointing have made this work of faith-based Bible insights and poetry possible.
A Crown of Gold Leaf is a collection of poems that captures the feelings of those who have suffered a great loss. The loss may be the result of a failed relationship or a distance beyond one's control. More tragically, it may be caused by the death of a spouse, friend, or sibling. Even the loss of something in nature can cause unexpected grief. However, this is a book about the inevitable cycle of life, sometimes sad but often filled with precious memories. It honors the life of those who have crossed the great divide and the courage of those whom they have left behind. After a time, it will be the good things that we, in grief, cling. The Beatitudes from the Gospel of Matthew 5:1-12a include, "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted."
As I walk down the path of life, I find that many things around me affect the way I think and the decisions I make. One of the biggest effects of my life was the night of the Tet Offensive in Vietnam in 1968. At 4:00 a.m., our bomb dump blew up, and our fuel cell, with fuel for three squadrons of aircraft, blew up. Our perimeter was breached. I thought I was going to check out. I made a promise to the good Lord that I would be a productive member of society. He has been a big part of every decision I have made. I know that the day comes. I don't meet His standard or requirements. He will dial up my number. Today, at age seventy-five years old, my doctor told me to get my life in order. I made out my will. And I made up a living will. I set up and paid for my funeral, sold everything I didn't need. When the time comes to meet my maker, I will thank Him for allowing me to continue down my path of life. Only then will I know how He feels about my journey.
Phineas Parkhurst Quimby was a mid-1800s clockmaker in Belfast, Maine. He became fascinated with the practice of hypnotism, then called mesmerism. He dropped his clockmaking profession and traveled around Maine, offering demonstrations of mesmerism.Over the years, he studied how the body, when mesmerized, could perform astonishing feats. Gradually, Quimby developed what he called science of the mind and used his concepts to heal the sick. This is the story of how he evolved his theory. Consequently, his work was directly related to the founding of the Unity movement and Christian Science. The author''s position is that the New Age philosophy that the mind controls the body was inspired by a Maine clockmaker.

Some tickles are simply a thought for mood boosters, and others are guidance of importance. Some may be to simply share an understanding. Tickles of Thoughts are written passions and expressions of seeing life through other''s visions and needs as well as our own. Staying focused on thoughts which are important in the eyes of Christ when interacting with others in need. Whether the need is to spread the understanding of accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior in a simplified form or the sharing of appreciation of God''s beautiful creations.
