  • - A Past-Your-Bedtime Story
    av Anthony Mazzone
    209

This is Christmas Eve, but it is dismal and empty because the Christmas Spirit has gone missing. It mysteriously falls upon the little boy Vitalian Snowstar to find her and bring her back to the sad village of Deephaven. Accompany him now as he braves the Ill Wind and the Wolf at the Door, traverses the Sands of Time, passes through the Tide, and finally approaches the terrible throne of the great Northern Lights. And the Christmas Spirit-will Vitalian recognize her, and what will he say? You will find out in this magical past-your-bedtime story, where sounds have color and flowers have voices, where Old Man River rises from his bed, and the Music of the Spheres is felt and seen.

  • - How the Love of God Found Me
    av Frank D Tigue
    195

The Power of Faith: How the Love of God Found Me details the circular journey the author''s life had taken through the years. It chronicles the author''s life from the 1960s until the present. While he was ambitious and desired to practice law, God had a quite different intention in mind. Barriers and adversity occurred with each attempt to try to practice. Rather than be a practicing attorney, God wanted the author to understand the meaning of his life: the discovery of the meaning of true love. God wanted the author to understand that God loved him and that He would provide for the essential needs for his survival. Likewise, God wanted to convey that if the author loved Him too, additional blessings would come his way beyond mere survival. All this knowledge resulted from a simple adverse event: the tripping over a small dog resulting in a broken foot.God wanted the author to convey this sentiment to those receptive. With the readers examining their lives, they will see the role God has with them along with the love God has in their lives.God exists and is real, and all it takes is believing to change one''s path in life.

The phrase "answering the call" can be interpreted in many different ways-answering the call of duty, answering the call on a phone, or answering the call that comes with the responsibility of being a parent or, in this case, a father. As a father, I never wanted to experience the emotions of shock, confusion, and grief that cascaded into total devastation. But that's exactly what happened the day I answered that call. When life ends prematurely, we must choose how to respond. All things changed, all timelines changed, and when I look back and remember certain events that have occurred, I preface them by saying that happened before or that happened after the call I received about my son Rob. Most people don't know what a Gold Star Family organization is. I knew it was an honorable organization, but I didn't know much more than that. Membership cannot be purchased. It cannot be inherited, and you can't join on your own. Membership is gained only through the tragic loss of an immediate family member during combat, the loss of someone who was brave enough to serve our country and pay the ultimate sacrifice. I knew I never wanted to be a member of such an honorable organization, and I'm sure no one else does either. However, my family and I became a member of the Gold Star Families on March 13, 2007, the very day I answered the call. We are a genuine blended American family with three military children. As most blended families, we have a complex set of dynamics and challenges, but we try to work through them with love and sometimes in a messy way. There is no normal in our lives anymore. Someone once said, "Normal is just a setting on a dryer." And I couldn't agree more. This is my journey of shock, grief, devastation, and finally closure. A journey which portrays deep love, deep pain, and deep faith. And this horrific journey started the day that I answered the call.

Positional Christianity is a biblical lifestyle based on scripture. It is making decisions based on God's Word. It is accepting Scripture as truth regardless of how illogical it may appear. Its opposite is dispositional Christianity, which is making decisions on emotions, feelings, past experiences, or other human tendencies. This book explains the Christian lifestyle based on the principles of positional Christianity.

This is a fictional story about a frail young girl who witnessed her parents being killed at the hands of a rebellious group, causing chaos to make changes in their country. The young girl was encouraged by her mother to find a way to flee the country and to safety, giving her a pillowcase of silver to buy her way to freedom. The pillowcase contained some odd pieces of silver along with a silver tea set, which was her mother's pride. Claire sets off on a terrifying journey with the help of a manservant whom she had no trust in forcing her to go in a direction she had no intention of going. She eventually ended up being left after a few days to fend for herself in a strange country and fearing this was the end of her life-not being able to keep her promise to her mother to try and get to safety.
