This book is a collection of poems that came from my heart. They are spiritual and a variety of eccentric gems, both whimsical and serious in nature. I hope these poems will be both an inspiration and a shelter to you.
Do we really understand the love of God? Are we as a church and, more importantly, as individuals living how Jesus commanded us to live? Could we be living in sin and not even know it? Wouldn''t you want to know if you were? We will be discussing these and other topics while we rediscover God''s love.
To forgive or not to forgive is a dilemma that should not exist in Christendom. Some Christians have normalized the granting of forgiveness like an Oprah Winfrey giveaway in which everyone gets forgiveness based solely on the generosity of the giver. Others refuse to forgive even in the presence of irrefutable evidence that supports the accused's innocence. Still others grant forgiveness based merely on how they feel about the offender. If they are a friend, if they are from the right neighborhood, if they are a person of means, or if the offender is in a position to advance their career, then the offenses will be forgiven with a smile. Finally, there are those who grant forgiveness based solely on the erroneous belief that God requires them to do so regardless of the action or inaction of the offender. None of the above is consistent with God's plan or purpose for the granting of forgiveness. Therefore, Christendom has no uniform standard of granting forgiveness because they have ignored God's prototype and established their own. The granting of forgiveness, when applied outside of God's procedure, can possibly result in irreparable harm to offenders and only feigned forgiveness on the part of the offended. Across denominational lines, Christendom must adopt and adapt herself to the sole God-ordained method for extending the scepter of forgiveness.
I have two sons and a daughter, when they were very young, they came to me one evening and said they would like a bedtime story. As they were putting on their jammies, getting ready for bed, I was thinking of something to relate as a story. When we settled down, I told them a story. It seemed to satisfy. And so off to bed they went. An evening or two went by, and again they told me they would like another story. I had had time to think of one and had it ready. A third evening came along wanting a third story, and it was given. After that they would come and ask for one of the three stories to be repeated. My children are grown now. Two of the three are married and starting families of their own. When the first couple was expecting their first child, my son who is not married asked me if I could write down the bedtime stories, they were told into bedtime stories that could be read to children and grandchildren. And so, a homemade book was put together, and one thing led to another, leading up to For Children: Three Stories from Nature.
Young, beautiful, adventurous Maggie Hall left Ireland in 1873 to seek her fortunes in America, only to be forced into prostitution by the one man who had captured her heart. He even insisted her name be changed. Disillusioned but determined, she left him behind and ventured West, ultimately drawn to the rich ore mines of northern Idaho. She settled in Murray, Idaho, where her exploits, beauty, and prestige became legendary. History is often unkind to the memories of western prostitutes, known as doves, fairy belles, angels, or madams, yet many were, in truth, kind, generous, innovative, and extremely resilient women. This book is historical fiction based upon the true life of western legend Molly b''Damn.
Jesus Christ started the Christian church and the first ministry on earth. He was God in the flesh. Jesus lived a holy life as He was set apart, and He won many people to His Father. While Jesus was on earth, He interacted with thousands of people. The way He treated all of them was very special, something to grasp at and explore. This insightful book will embark readers on a journey to see the basic decisions Jesus made in His relationships and what can be learned from His interactions with people. Based on the Bible, scriptures will be illuminated as the author highlights verses that you may have read but didn't stand out to you, for you can read the Bible repeatedly and learn something new every time. And reading about the life of Jesus, God the Son, will enable you to feel God the Father's love.
