The Language of Flowers for the Modern Bride provides a different way of looking at the flowers a bride chooses for her wedding. Telling a couple's love story using flowers and their meanings can bring a beautiful dimension to an important day. This book not only describes the traditional (Victorian) meaning for each flower but also describes the legends and lore surrounding these meanings. On the front cover is a lavender rose and white freesia bridal bouquet meaning precious love, lasting friendship, and thoughtfulness.
Obedience is defined as "compliance with an order, request, or law or submission to authority." It denotes an immediate response in action. This book is an endeavor to free people from the world's definitions of obedience and the bondage it holds us in by defining it through New Testament Grace. With the help of the Holy Spirit, in the pages of this book, we will understand that obedience is a gift of Grace; it is received and it bears fruit. We will also look at how much of what or how you're thinking is involved with New Testament obedience. This book provides many opportunities for your mind to be renewed or to stay where you're at in what you believe. Should you choose to allow the Holy Spirit to reveal what New Testament obedience is, you will never again be bound by guilt and condemnation when you are unable to immediately submit to or comply with anything you see in the Word of God.
Selah moments...are those times when we don't just live our life, we examine it. We read certain events through the contemplative lenses of our God-given reflectacles. Selah moments enable us to slow down and internalize the message of Scripture with our internal eyes. Selah moments provide us with an appropriate place to pause and appropriate God's Word into our lives. In the pages of this book, I have gathered together some of my Selah moments. At first glance, it might look like a random collection of stories, poems, insights, and homilies. However, each of these writings began as an entry in my journal--the place where I write about what I think about. As you read these journal entries, I believe that some of them will remind you of your own journey. The chapters are grouped around the cast of characters who have walked with me in my original road show: my family, people I've encountered along the way, the living words of Scripture, and my Heavenly Father. The personalities in your production will be as unique as you are, just as your story lines will be your own. But I believe there will be moments in the reading of this text where the differences in the details become less and less important as you say to yourself, "I get that," "I've felt the same way," "I've asked myself that very question," "I thought I was the only one who'd ever gone through that." As your emotions are engaged, I hope that your time in this book will become more and more like a conversation with a friend and fellow pilgrim. And I pray that the Selah Stuff in these pages will remind you to stop, look, and listen to what God is saying in the moments of your own life.

This book is about Mr. Frank Miles, written through the eyes of his son, Gregory Miles. The book is titled Big Frank because that's what people in the community called him. They were aware of the contributions and services he had provided. Even as a US Air Force veteran, he was still called big Frank by his military friends and later by his United Auto Workers buddies. A stint at University of Detroit Mercy School of Law gave the author the confidence to write this biography. It is truly a story that deserves to be told.

I lived with DID or, as most people call it, split personalities. I lived this way most of my life. There are thousands of people that live this way, but just like me, they are afraid people would look down on them or make fun of them once they were diagnosed. They, like me, will not understand what a very hard life it is to live this kind of life. I am not only writing for the people that suffer from DID, but I'm writing it for the families that live with this horrible condition, and so maybe they can love and understand unconditionally.Hopefully, people with DID can find a Christian counselor so they will understand more of what they are going through and get help. Everyone that has DID had some kind of trauma in their early life, and God gave us a way to handle what happened to us through our other personalities. I pray that by the end of my book, people will feel hope and love again, even against those that hurt them. My prayer is that this book reaches hundreds of people and their families while they do the very hard work it takes to get healed. And trust me, one can get healed because I did through our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you all, and my heart truly goes out to you all! I have to thank God first for my amazing healing, but I have to thank all my amazing counselors for never giving up on me: Terry, Sue, and Dawn. And of course, my amazing husband, Robert, whom the Lord sent to me. I love you all dearly!
