The emergence of the Mongol Empire in the 13th century was the turning point of human history. The dramatic change in the human world after this turning point was a positive one, especially for the Europeans. This is my belief. Before the Mongol Empire, there was no communication between the east and the west. At that time, the world was wide. Many different forms of natural barriers-rivers, mountains, deserts, impenetrable dense forests and enormously wide plains-were between them, and they didn't have any reason to cross over all of them. Communication and the exchange of ideas could now be possible after the emergence of the Mongol Empire. Gun powder, paper and compasses were introduced from the east to the west, and the concept of chemistry, astronomy and mathematics was transferred from the west to the east. Before the Mongol Empire, it was very dangerous or almost impossible to travel from the city of Venice in Italy to Beijing, China, which was a trip that Marco Polo's father Piccolo and his uncle Maffeo frequently made. After more than 20 years of staying in China, Marco Polo, who travelled to Beijing with his father and stayed there under the protection of Kublai Khan, finally returned to his home in Italy and began his storytelling, which influenced all of Europe.Marco Polo's well-known book, The Travels of Marco Polo, inspired many young men in Europe at that time to go to the east to find the riches and gold that Marco Polo described. Marco Polo's story influenced Europe inwardly and outwardly. Inwardly, it ignited the new Renaissance wave; outwardly, it motivated many men who were seeking adventure and fortune. At age 14, Christopher Columbus was one of the young men who was inspired by Marco Polo's story. His introduction of the existence of a new continent to the Europeans was a great event as everyone knows. All these were chain reactions related to Marco Polo and the Mongol Empire.Batu Khan was the front-runner by breaking the wall between the east and the west, yet his story has not been told often to the public, which motivated me to write about it. All these stories were written based on the most trusted histories. When different theories related to the same event conflicted, I picked the most probable one based on my common sense. The only fictionalized areas in this book were episodes written for the purpose of connecting stories and making the reading smoother.

"What we won't talk about owns us."The vortex of gender diatribes grows from an unwillingness to be open and real about the crap surrounding the topic. All the markers and external indicators of gender display are outdated, shaped by the marketplace, and create pain, even hopelessness. What I am is less important than who I am.Gender is a part of this, but shouldn't it be a less important part than character? We want to cast off the crap and simply love the shared me that springs from understanding, not from labels. We have no agenda, politics, talking points, donations, judgment or position. Simply talking, listening, and opening doors to understanding is our solution. Care to try it with us?

Through beautiful artwork and delightful storytelling, The Rainmaker empowers kids with the right mindset. The first of a children's series by Stephen and Chelsey Diaz, The Rainmaker tells the enterprising story of Kai and Ollie, presented in colorful illustrations by Kamdon Callaway. When a sudden downpour sinks plans of selling lemonade, the brothers feel discouraged and frustrated-until their mother reminds them that every problem comes with a solution and that anything is possible with the proper mindset. As the story unfolds, Kai and Ollie use their resourcefulness and upbeat attitude to turn that rainy day into an opportunity to help their friends and community flourish. How do you set your child up for success in today's fast-paced world? As a parent, it's important to teach your little one that life will often present challenges. Doing so assures them that encountering difficulties is natural, and that setbacks shouldn't keep them from chasing after or creating new dreams.Teaching your child to focus on abundance and opportunity instead of scarcity and lack better equips them for facing complexities. Grounded by a positive and resilient mindset, kids can develop the skills they need to gracefully overcome. In this illustrated book, you and your little one will read about how Kai and his brother, Ollie, encounter a problem that could mess up their day. But instead of getting discouraged, Kai and Ollie turn that obstacle into something good, not just for themselves, but for their whole community! The "How Can I" MindsetInstilling the "How Can I" mindset in your child gives them self-confidence and a can-do attitude. Both are practical skills that can help them make a positive impact on the world. When they get faced with a problem, they'll immediately think of ways on how to overcome that hurdle, instead of stopping in their tracks and giving up. Teaching them this solution-oriented way of thinking trains your child to analyze a situation and see opportunities amidst problems.Focus On AbundanceOne of the most powerful lessons your child will take away from this book is learning how to focus on abundance, instead of lack. Staying fixated on what's lacking fosters can greatly hinder one's ability to find solutions and opportunities. Through this book, you help shape your child's perception towards life by encouraging them to focus on what resources are readily available and how these can be used to their benefit. The Value of ResourcefulnessIn this book, Kai and Ollie were able to turn a rainy day into a fruitful one by being creative and resourceful. After going through the story, your little one will learn that they are surrounded by resources-one need only look! Through resourcefulness, your child will be more likely to approach difficulties with a proactive mindset. They'll also learn how to think outside the box, find alternative ways to complete tasks, and enjoy more agency over their own lives.Extending a Helping HandTeaching your little one to be helpful encourages them to contribute to the well-being of their family and their larger community. In the story, Kai and Ollie help their friends gather materials for making rainmaker packs. By doing so, their whole neighborhood was able to collect rainwater for tending to their gardens during sunny days. This resulted in the community being able to grow more fruits and vegetables, which were shared with everyone.

Volume 1, Issue 1 is dedicated to the topic of the Liberty of Conscience and features essays from Garrett M. Walden, James Renihan, Geoff Chang, J. Ryan Davidson, Joseph Dunne, and Jesse Owens, along with several book reviews. Theologia Viatorum (theology of the pilgrims): The Journal of the London Lyceum is a peer-reviewed journal for analytic, baptist, and/or confessional theology that is published on an annual basis by the London Lyceum. The journal seeks to promote serious thinking for a serious church by retrieving the wisdom from analytic philosophy, the Baptist tradition, and classical Protestantism as confessed in the confessional documents of the Reformed tradition. The journal seeks to promote the Reformed catholic tradition by confessing what is held in common by the Second London Confession of Faith, the Orthodox Creed (1679), the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Three Forms of Unity, and the Anglican Formularies. The journal publishes content that confesses the Nicene and Apostles' Creed and is consistent with the orthodox Protestant confessional tradition.

What does it mean to be truly free? In this bold and ground-breaking exploration of human freedom, Laura Davidson challenges us to contemplate the true nature of liberty. In doing so, she leads us to question many things we may think we know about the human condition and the world around us.Genuine freedom starts with an understanding we have freedom of the will. And yet many present-day scientists and philosophers argue that free will is merely an illusion. Their claim is that the activity of the brain is a purely physical process, analogous to the operation of a computer. But this implies we are mere automatons and cannot be held morally responsible for what we do. Moreover, if human thought and action is strictly deterministic, then this seriously threatens the notion of a genuinely free society. The Logic of Freedom is a pioneering exploration of human liberty that counters the deterministic narrative and argues strongly in favor of free will. Drawing on consciousness studies and the philosophy of mind, Davidson advances a revolutionary theory for why free will is real, not illusory, and explains how it comes to be shaped but never determined by biological instincts and environmental factors. At the heart of the book is an inspiring vision of a genuinely free society, a society that can be realized when we accept that the initiation of aggression is always illegitimate, no matter how or where it originates. This principle, Davidson maintains, is the bedrock of true freedom. She reaches startling and thought-provoking conclusions on the relationship between law, personal morality, and society, challenging some of the most basic foundations of modern polity, and ends with addressing perhaps the most important issue of all: the meaning of absolute truth. The Logic of Freedom is a clarion call to recognize and respect our inalienable right to freedom and personal autonomy. A must read for anyone who believes in the power of human choice and the dream of a society grounded in genuine liberty. Join Davidson on a journey to unlock the secrets of a free world in this ground-breaking and original book.Praise for the book: "With the introduction of this new tour de force of hers, Laura Davidson significantly broadens her horizons and takes accurate aim at issues such as free will, human freedom, the mind-body problem, evolution, cooperation, human action, law, morality, and much, much more. She does so in her usual manner with brilliance, verve, and verstehen. Read this book from cover to cover. You will be inspired." --- Walter E. Block, Harold E. Wirth Scholar Endowed Chair and Professor of Economics at Loyola University, New Orleans."Laura Davidson is one of the best libertarian philosophers writing today, and her new book The Logic of Freedom is full of challenging arguments from many different fields. I highly recommend it." --- David Gordon, Senior Fellow, Ludwig von Mises Institute.

We walk through each other's shores, illuminating winding paths, and irrigating farms to nourish fellowship. Our gates are passages to our hearts, workshops that grease the wheels of those who walk by. They deposit the grace that transforms our world. Everyone in our crossroads is a teacher if we let them drop leaves in our path, even the ones that ache our bones. ---After writing my first book, "Whispering Waves", I never foresaw writing another one. But, in due time, I began to fancy short phrases and wanted to take simple words and make poems out of them. Words began to play in my head like music, and poems began to resound like gospel. To find a resting place for all my words, I began writing them down poetically. This book is about my continuous journey in life, both physically and spiritually. I walk on the same trail as those whom I have met. I cogitate conversations I have had with myself, both in darkness and in light. These experiences transformed into poems that touch on love, nature, and imagination. I have found a space that lets me travel weightlessly.I hope turning the pages of "The Face of Tomorrow" will put an unfading smile on your face.
