  • - A Practical Guide to Loving Your Neighbour
    av Lauren Gush
    202,-

What does it really mean to love my neighbour as myself?Who is my neighbour? Is this even humanly possible? If you have ever asked yourself any of these questions, then this book is for you! Jesus made it clear that there are two important commandments that we should follow. First, we are to love the Lord God with all our hearts, souls, and minds. Second, we are to love our neighbours as ourselves. We all understand the first commandment! After all, He is worthy of our love. It's the command to love our neighbour that we struggle with. Many ofthe people we meet are certainly not lovely, and yet Jesus wants us to love them! The Forgotten Commandment will take you on a journey towards understanding what God's kind of love looks like in today's world. This book will teach you about God's heart towards people and His desire to use you in the lives of those around you. The combination of sound Biblical theory and practical application makes The Forgotten Commandment an invaluable, life-changing read.

When the principal of a modest suburban primary school announced to her students a flower-planting contest to be held among them and to be judged by an elite panel of judges, she was certain of producing future horticulturists and agriculturists as well as competitive and excellence-driven individuals in general. But there was another certainty: she did not factor in the drama that such a contest will create among the young contestants who collided in a heady mix of love, friendship and cooperation, envy, jealousy and hate; drama so intense that, at times, it verged on the very deadly.

Step into the mind of a poet who contemplates the world and its mysteries with equal parts wonder and terror. A debut collection of dark and introspective poetry, perfect for those who revel in the beauty and horror of existence. An introspective, nihilistic and at times pessimistic look at the world through poetry. This is in no way an exploration of joy and mirth, but instead a book of pessimistic thought and cautionary tale. Be warned, for the horrors of truth in this book, are not for the faint of heart. Worry not, however, for between the horrific misery, there will be explorations of love, intrigue and tales of wonder. And perhaps a few moments of romantic reprieve, from the terror of existence."For, what is life, but a series of plays, run by a madman, and loved by a jester? But, oh! Hopeless ones!Heed my words! Don't forget that always,And forevermore, will you, peace,in a lover's embrace find!"

In the minefield of leadership literature available today, this book provides clarity, adding fresh and unique insights to critical leadership skills. The author draws upon his own unique experience from an unforgiving environment, forged from his background in the military and the international corporate world. This book is for you if you:· Want to be an effective leader.· Are willing to transform into the change you wish to see.· Are committed to improving the lives of those you lead.If this sounds like you and you are willing to do what it takes, you are invited to take an inner journey of self-reflection. Self-reflection is critical for leadership development. In the process, improve your personal and professional life and discover practical tools to:Increase mental resilience - These unpredictable times place more demands on people mentally, emotionally, spiritually and possibly even physically. This is the 'new norm' for which mental resilience is essential.Build a sense of trust and safety - Unlike mainstream leadership literature which tends to focus mainly on the vision of the leader, this book also focuses on the leader's ability to build trust and provide a sense of 'safety' by 'holding the space' in these times of VUCA.Engender ownership - The Selfless Leader sees the Collective as fellow stakeholders. In times of crisis, 'self-preservation' for the Selfless Leader is 'collective preservation', seeing the people as an extension of oneself. Own who you are. Own the mission. Own the result.

We live in an ever-changing world, and today's threats seem to grow exponentially. The horrors of the past still leave us with painful scars needing healing. Many people may wonder about the relevance of divided Christian denominations, which, to some, have diluted the core purpose of the church. In this book, Valentia Kadalie shares her physical and mental scars that pockmarked her life's journey while growing up in Apartheid-era Cape Town - and a divided country. Living purposefully through the Apartheid tsunami to democracy, overcoming personal challenges through the Covid-19 lockdown and beyond, Val introduces us to the beautiful, challenging discipleship ministry she and her husband Charles have embraced.Val's narrative includes information about herself, her family, her friends, her God - and Christian discipleship that links inextricably with her spiritual conversion to accept Christ as Saviour - the doorway to living out the Gospel.Val shows how Christian discipleship - the task of Christians - builds redemptive bridges across barriers and invites us to ponder churchianity's confusingly different road. Her focus on discipleship will invoke reactions. However, rest assured she will field every response - her large kitchen table awaits. The philosophy of Val and Charles is thought-provoking, illuminating, and liberating.

God's Forgotten CommandFor many years, we as parents have left the spiritual education of our children in the hands of the authorities in schools and the church. But our school curricula have changed and Bible teachings are no longer included. Furthermore, membership of churches is dwindling and some churches have discontinued their child and youth programs. It was never the intention of God that the school and church should give our children a spiritual education. This responsibility was given to the parents and it is time that we connect our families with God.¿¿¿¿Connecting my Family with God helps you to rediscover the joy of worshipping together as a family. Dr. Francois Carr shares personal lessons and discusses these topics:· Why is Family Worship necessary?· Why don't families worship together anymore?· Some common excuses for not having family worship· How do I prepare myself and my family?· How do we worship as a family?· What are some basic foundations for family worship?

From the quiet meditations of Poni M come this riveting book that will definitely inspire you. It's a book about hope, love, deep yearnings, and coping with unfulfilled wishes. It's a reality check that in life we don't always get what we want but we can still enjoy life to it's fullness. It's also about seeing the beauty in others through those little acts of kindness. This beauty is the sparkle of the soul, radiating in each and every one of us. We can choose to allow this beauty to shine and touch others. We learn to be grateful with where we are because somebody, somewhere, is desperately hoping and praying just to have even half of what we have. For them it would be a dream come true, an answer to prayer and wink from God above. Every woman is a goddess, you may be dating one or married to one or mothered by one or have fathered one. Every goddess deserves royal treatment. If nobody gives it to you, it's high time you treat yourself like one.
