La preparación profesional en Educación Física poco ha cambiado, a pesar de la significativa mejoría de los discursos y discusiones teóricas. El problema principal se encuentra en la orientación de las disciplinas prácticas (materias prácticas) estructuradas en el modelo deportivo \ competitivo, con metodologías orientadas para el dominio de las técnicas que ya fueron consagradas por la tradicionalidad y tratando al alumno como atleta. Lo que estamos discutiendo es la posibilidad de que los contenidos prácticos se estructuren sobre las producciones culturales de los distintos grupos sociales que constituyen los países de América Latina, asumiendo la responsabilidad de socializar los conocimientos que permitan la construcción de identidades (cultura patrimonial) y también de los conocimientos que permitan que los alumnos comprendan porqué consumen y producen determinadas manifestaciones culturales (cultura popular). Por esa razón creemos que los profesionales de la Educación Física deban ser preparados como investigadores de las realidades escolares y utilizar las experiencias de vida de sus alumnos en la estructuración del currículo escolar.

The local growth and metastatic spread of breast cancer cells is strongly associated to the co-existence of changes in haemostasis. Platelets play a crucial role in the framework of this nterplay, predominantly through their activation and the trend for reactive thrombocytosis, which both lead to the formation of new blood vessels and increase the local and systematic inflammatory profile, favoring the natural progression of breast cancer. Therefore, it would be very useful to evaluate whether the common laboratory platelet indices could be considered as biomarkers of the biological behavior of a type of cancer, which stands as one of the leading causes of death for the female population. Within the framework of our present study, we evaluated the common laboratory indices of platelets - total count (TPC), mean volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), large platelet cell ratio (LPCR) - both alone and in combination with the total lymphocyte count, in the form of the conventional prognostic biomarker of survival - platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) - as well as in the context of its modified version we propose - large platelet to lymphocyte ratio (LPLR). The laboratory data were evaluated for their degree of correlation with the nature of the underlying neoplasia (benign or malignant neoplasia) and, in the case of malignant lesions they were correlated with the basic pathological-anatomical characteristics -tumor size, spread to lymphatic nodes, grade, over-expression of hormonal receptors/HER2 protein- and the Nottingham Prognostic Index (NPI), score used to estimate the 5-year survival of breast cancer patients.

La cultura Kallawaya es uno de los exponentes culturales más representativos de Bolivia, declarada "Patrimonio de la Humanidad" el 2003. Por su alta fragilidad y grandes amenazas, lamentablemente tiene un alto riesgo de desaparecer; ante esto, los kallawayas han apostado por el turismo biocultural como actividad estratégica para la salvaguarda de su cosmovisión. Entonces, mediante una investigación de carácter cualitativa basada en la sistematización de experiencias, se propone mostrar cómo bajo un enfoque de turismo sostenible, consciente y biocultural el turismo puede convertirse en un potenciador de esta expresión cultural, más que en un destructor de ella.

The slope failure is a large deformation problem, the traditional numerical method finite element method (FEM), and limit equilibrium method (LEM) is difficult to characterize the whole process of the failure, resulting in the mechanism analysis which is not clear. In this work, a mesh-free particle approach, named the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method, is presented and is improved to analyze the damage and failure process of a rock slope. In order to better describe the cause and mechanism of brittle failure for rock slope, the plastic factor was suggested and introduced into the SPH algorithm, and the conservation equations of SPH for brittleness characteristics were obtained. For soil slope, its instability mechanism and failure mode are different from that of rock slope. Therefore, this work also introduces the application of the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method in the instability evolution process of soil slope. Firstly, an improved method for solving the SPH safety factor based on the adaptive discount factor method is proposed, the tolerance value is introduced, the relationship between the displacement increment and the tolerance value of the characteristic point is analyzed, and the real displacement mutation point is determined. Secondly, the SPH numerical model of slope is established to analyze the characteristics of slope deformation and failure, which shows that the SPH method can effectively represent the whole process of slope instability and progressive failure and effectively overcome the disadvantage of non-convergence when the traditional numerical method is used to study the deformation and failure of geotechnical materials.

The self-assembly of surfactants is driven by the hydrophobic effect. However, the size and shapes of surfactant aggregates are influenced not only by this hydrophobic interaction but also by a variety of weak interactions occurring at the interfacial region of these aggregates. For ionic surfactants, these interactions encompass the weak bonds formed between the corresponding surfactant head groups, counterions, and hydrated water. In comparison to gas/liquid, solid/liquid, and liquid/liquid interfaces, the interfacial region between the aggregates and the aqueous phase resembles a "black box." Conventional experimental techniques often struggle to probe this realm, let alone quantitatively analyze the concentrations of water molecules, head groups, counterions, and additives present in this area. The chemical trapping method, pioneered by Romsted's research group, employs chemical probes to ascertain the interfacial concentrations of various weakly basic nucleophiles. Its introduction has notably addressed the challenge posed by other scientific methods, which fail to reveal the intricacies of the interfacial region within aggregates. This method has been utilized to investigate the alterations in interfacial composition during aggregation transitions in multiple surfactant systems. It holds the potential to establish a theoretical foundation for precisely controlling the morphology of surfactant aggregates.

This research aims to analyze the Linguistic Landscape existing on Indonesian National Shipping Company (PELNI) as an integral part of communication and navigation within the ship. PELNI ships are a primary mode of maritime transportation in Indonesia, and effective communication on board is crucial for passenger safety, comfort, and experience. This study encompasses various aspects of the Linguistic Landscape on PELNI ships, including the use of written language, safety signs, information boards, instructions, and important messages directed at passengers. The analysis was conducted on data found on various information boards on the ship, such as room listings, prohibition signs, facility information, safety equipment, and information in public areas. The results of this research provide profound insights into how communication is organized on PELNI ships, how passengers and crew members interact with this Linguistic Landscape, and how this Linguistic Landscape contributes to safety and comfort during sea voyages. This research also emphasizes the importance of clear language usage, informative signs, and effective communication in a unique environment such as a ship. In conclusion, this research makes a significant contribution to understanding the Linguistic Landscape on PELNI ships and provides guidance for improvements in communication on sea vessels, which can enhance the passenger travel experience and ensure their safety during sea voyages in Indonesia.

La ausencia de conocimientos sobre gestión pedagógica altera el proceso educativo, afectando directamente la calidad del desempeño académico de los estudiantes, por tal razón, la investigación pretende conocer si la aplicación de la gestión pedagógica en la Unidad Educativa Sígsig está asociada a la calidad educativa. El estudio partió desde el paradigma hermenéutico-crítico, con enfoque cualitativo, mediante investigación-acción, se recolectó datos utilizando entrevistas semiestructuradas, el análisis documental y la observación.Como resultado, la gestión pedagógica no encamina a la institución a una calidad educativa, se evidencia limitantes en el desarrollo porque los participantes demostraron conocimientos superficiales sobre esta dimensión. Al proveer herramientas de intervención permitió transformar esta realidad, aunque, existen docentes que se resisten al cambio. En conclusión, los resultados del estudio resaltan la importancia de la gestión pedagógica en la calidad de educación, porque permite organizar y potenciar los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje para obtener resultados eficientes.

The study focused on determining the characteristics of senior high school students that best predict their performance in the Basic Education Exit Assessment. The various predictors include sex, age, academic track, family income, household size, parent's highest educational attainment, teacher-related factors, class size, and school distance. The academic performance of the students was measured using the Mean Percentage Score (MPS) of the sample schools. Having sampled 310 Grade 12 students enrolled in the academic track, this study employed the descriptive correlational method to examine the relationship between the identified predictors and the student's performance. A modified questionnaire was utilized to gather the necessary data. In analyzing the data, percentages, frequencies, means, mean percentage scores, Pearson correlation coefficient (r), and multilinear regression were utilized. The findings indicated that sex, age, and school distance did not exhibit a significant relationship with the student's performance in the Basic Education Exit Assessment. However, teacher-related factors, including personality traits, teaching skills, and use of instructional materials, as well as class size and parents' highest educational attainment revealed a significant relationship with student performance. Among the predictors showing a significant correlation, teacher-related factors emerged as the strongest predictor of performance in the Basic Education Exit Assessment. Based on these results, the study recommends school leaders to provide additional training on personality development for teachers, including the use of technology in teaching and the implementation of diverse teaching strategies. Furthermore, the study suggests the formulation and implementation of policies aimed at reducing class sizes.

Civil engineers tend to move between construction organizations in the employment market due to employee's individual perception/requirement/need. The study has been initiated with a thorough literature review and variables have been picked and collected for further study. During literature review it realised that good volume of talent turnout study has been carried out in other than civil engineering stream/s by researcher in past time. From the study it is found that previous researches have not considered project site location/ working location as one of the variables in their study. Hence, the present study has been carried out considering the project site location as an independent variable. To confirm reliability of the questionnaire, pilot study has been carried out. To do so 15% of sample responses has been collected and analysed for reliability. McDonald's omega found to be greater than the base value for four dimensions and point estimate is found to be 0.874. Considering the reliability test questionnaire has been frozen, responses has been collected from sample on/off line and the responses have been collated, analyzed. The model Fit appears to be good as the Root Mean Square Error Approximation (RMSEA)=0.07, Comparative Fit Index (CFI)=0.91, Tucker Lewis Index(TLI)=0.90 and thus model fit turns out to be satisfactory( Hair Jr et all 2018). From mediation testing it is noted that the project site location is directly influencing the talent turnout and the relationship between project site location and talent turnout is found to be influenced by mediators like, pay, training etc.

Because the increasing trends in the obesity prevalence, which closely mirrors the increase of insulin resistance and the consequent development of metabolic disorders and cardiovascular risk factors.The body of evidence unequivocally show that insulin resistance is associated to prediabetes, diabetes, hypertension, atherosclerosis, metabolic syndrome, some types of cancer, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. So, changes on lifestyle such as a health customary diet and routine physical activity for preventing or the management of obesity are priorities to improve the health status. With this regard, the early detection of insulin resistance holds as important public health issue.In this book, we review evidence regarding the efficacy of the Triglycerides and Glucose (TyG) index for measuring insulin resistance in the clinical setting, as well as the cost-effectiveness analysis of the index. The review is focused on the efficacy of TyG index in the metabolic glucose disorders, cardiovascular disease, some types of cancer, as well as in the children and adolescents. Also, we present data about the cost-effectiveness of the TyG index as compared with the Homeostatic Model Assessment for Insulin Resistance index. For a better understanding the initial chapters display the concept of insulin resistance and the clinical validated tests for its measuring. Hence, the aimed objective was to evaluate the clinical efficacy and cost-effectiveness of using TyG index for diagnosing insulin resistance in the clinical setting.

The book describes a culture of sustainability, its historical roots, how it is growing, and how we can help it grow more quickly. This is done with reference to the current sustainability crisis. The growth of environmental awareness is traced from the conservation movement to the current sustainability movement. This leads to a discussion of international action for sustainable development, explaining and commenting on endeavours such as the Club of Rome, MAB, the Brundtland Commission, ICLEI, the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development, Agenda 21, and Agenda 2030. La finalidad del libro es observar el nivel educación financiera que existe en España y proponer ideas para mejorarlo. La educación financiera no debe limitarse exclusivamente a expertos en el ámbito económico pues todas las personas, para el desenvolvimiento de la vida diaria, están obligadas a conocer términos y adquirir conocimientos de carácter económico-financiero. Cotidianamente, cada familia tiene que abrir cuentas bancarias, comprar a plazos, utilizar tarjetas para efectuar compras, sacar dinero de cajeros automáticos, solicitar préstamos, etc. Además de ello, a través de los medios de comunicación se transmiten términos y conceptos que son necesario comprender, como tributos, impuestos, inflación, tipos de interés, renta fija, renta variable, deuda pública, presupuestos, déficit, superávit, etc. El objetivo del primer capítulo es analizar el nivel de la educación financiera en España, y emitir propuestas para mejorarlo modificando los Planes de Estudio. Para su consecución se realizan tres análisis: en el primero se muestra diversos estudios realizados por instituciones nacionales e internacionales que dejan claro el escaso conocimiento de los conceptos económicos y financieros entre la población española, en el segundo se analizan las asignaturas impartidas en los estudios reglados no especializados con estos contenidos, y en el tercero se realiza un estudio empírico que muestra la transversalidad de los conceptos en el resto de las asignaturas que no son específicas de economía y finanzas. De estos estudios se infiere que la situación de la educación financiera no es la deseable. La finalidad del segundo capítulo es describir una experiencia docente de implantación de gamificación en materia contable y evaluar la adquisición de competencias definidas oficialmente como objetivo de dicha materia, mediante el análisis de la percepción de docentes y estudiantes.

Plants live in a complex environment suffering various stress constraints. To counteract stress condition plants have evolved sophisticated defense systems. In tomato plants a key role in defense is played by systemin (Sys), an octadecapeptide, released upon leaf damage from a larger precursor, prosystemin (Prosys). Considering the need to reduce the agro-chemicals we investigated foliar and hydroponic application of Sys to tomato plants that increased both direct and indirect defenses (Chapter 1): treated plants strongly reduce growth and vitality of Spodoptera littoralis larvae also damaging the development of future insect generations. In addition, Sys treated plants reduce leaves colonization of the necrotrophic fungus Botrytis cinerea and have an increased level of attractiveness of natural herbivores antagonists. In order to investigate the molecular mechanism underpinning Prosys' defence activation, a prediction study of protein-protein interactions (PPIs) was done (Chapter 2). More than 16000 interactions were captured from the interactome query and, among them, 98 Prosys direct interactors were catalogued using GO terms. Prosys sub-network evidenced that Prosys links with two large groups of kinases and transcription factors confirming that the precursor is associated with the very early steps of plant stress perception. Prosys PPIs were also investigated in vitro and in vivo (Chapter 3). Affinity Purification Mass Spectrometry (AP-MS) detected more than 300 Prosys interactors. Some PPIs were validated through BiFC. Overall, the results proved that Sys is a very effective plant protectant, and its use could reduce the application of chemical pesticide while Prosys is involved in a large number of interactions possibly due to its ID structure and consequent biological function.

Infectious diseases were getting from microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites. It is possible if the infection goes from one person to another by physical contact. Not only current conditions but also the future. Such a significant impact on negligence or unconsciousness. The impact brings a lot of difficulty in daily activity. It also brings a lot of problems in making friends, being in a relationship with someone, and also negative stigma. Support from family, friends, and peer are really needed. Without any support, their body, mind, and soul would in a higher stress rate, have social problems, decrease physical condition, affect the adherence to taking medicine, and affect faith in worship. People with this condition will end up with a poor quality of life and fasten mortality. At this point, what we need is to be understanding, the big impact of social support for people with the infection. The understanding will bring differences in how people will see through others and how people will react or act for others. The negligence and unconsciousness will also be changed by a good support system.

Benign salivary gland tumors, such as pleomorphic adenomas and Warthin's tumors, often require surgical excision for complete removal and to prevent recurrence. This typically involves techniques like parotidectomy, submandibular gland excision, or even minimally invasive approaches, depending on the location and size of the lesion. Precise surgical planning is essential to minimize damage to adjacent structures like facial nerves and maintain salivary function. In cases of malignant salivary gland tumors, surgery remains a cornerstone of treatment. The extent of surgical intervention varies based on the tumor type, stage, and the patient's overall health. El alcohol, como protagonista actual, plantea desafíos de salud pública y social, especialmente para futuros profesionales de la salud.La investigación, guiada por la hipótesis de que el consumo excesivo afecta a los estudiantes, busca describir su frecuencia y matices. Con un enfoque cuantitativo y el Cuestionario AUDIT, se desentrañan los secretos del consumo entre 247 estudiantes.Los resultados son reveladores: el 66.4% no presenta consumo excesivo, mientras que el 33.6% experimenta riesgos, dependencia o síntomas perjudiciales. La trama se complica al explorar patrones según edad, sexo y año de cursado, abriendo puertas a futuras intervenciones.Este estudio, en su esencia, no solo destaca números, sino también la complejidad de los patrones de consumo.
