Grey Silk is a collection of short stories written, according to the author, over far too many years. They have grown dust in the far reaches of a laptop and have, at last, shaken the mouldy bits off and surfaced, hopefully free of the smells of mustiness. It is a mixed bag of Cornish memories, mice and Latin, pig abduction, incontinence with a touch of Gilbert & Sullivan spoofishness, and alternative farming in a stately home. Add in some gruesome infection and a bit of garden sluggery, tinged with the loss of colour in a depressing world. Some tales give rise to nostalgia, some are ridiculously daft, one is a homage to Alfred Hitchcock, two made the author feel distinctly uncomfortable, and at least one has a cringe factor about it. There are some to make you think, some to try and stop you thinking, some to make you smile, and one that may leave you with a sense of sadness about an imaginary dystopian state that has a hopelessness about wishing for the "unwishable". It is perhaps up to the reader to guess which of any of these labels may fit the written words.

As Benjamin enters the world of crime as a young lad and manages to take control OF the streets as he becomes a man with his doggy dealings around a council estate only to lose it all only to reclaim it but then lose it all over again as he try's to keep a low profile. he finds that his own people turn against him. with a few bust ups on his journey and try's to keep his friends.

This book is a play it consists of a few character s and the in and outs of Benjamin who awakes to find himself in a science lad under going tests and experiments when Benjamin finds out where he really is he goes through the trails and tribulations of being lock up after being told that he gave the team of scientists his permission to use him. after asking if he could leave he is denied only to cause more confusion on his behalf.

This book is the first of two parts it is a hard action with a bit of sci -fi with a little bit of crime. it picks up slowly and ends fast with a little bit of action all the way through not to hard as the story is based on the character Benjamin. It is a story of good, bad and tearful. it starts with a childhood and ends all grown up. As the character develops through the eyes of Benjamin as he tests himself it is a paranoid performance as the character intertwine into a dark experience as Benjamin's reputation is slowly destroyed.
