The Study Companion to the Keys of the Kingdom Bible provides a fascinating insight into the making of this much-needed ORGANIC translation. Twenty-five years in the making, it goes back to the original Greek and Hebrew texts to highlight and correct the translation errors of centuries. A perfect resource for the enquiring mind. According to Bible scholar and translator Christopher Sparkes, "The only real test that a translation is accurate is that it translates both ways without any change in meaning. This has been achieved. There are no compromises to accommodate creeds or doctrines. Just the pure words of the prophets and apostles. After twenty-five years and thousands of hours of Christopher's painstaking work, going back to the original Greek and Hebrew texts, the brand-new Keys of the Kingdom Holy Bible has now been completed and published by Filament Publishing.

The first pure translation into English of the actual words of the Apostles - not influenced by creeds, traditions or the preconceptions of the translators. The actual words - not what was thought that they meant. The culmination of over two decades of intense scholarship and in-depth research by an academic frustrated with the repeated inaccuracies of centuries. The Earth-Shaking Truth is the companion volume to the newly translated Bible "The Keys of the Kingdom Bible

"This translation unmasks historic twisting of the original Gospel message to support particular beliefs. It will be as controversial as John Wycliffe's first translation into English which was declared illegal for anyone to read by the church which had him declared a heretic." The Bible for a long time has been the world's number one selling book. Since the first English translation in 1380, more than 630 years ago, there have been around 150 English translations. So why do we need another one? Author, scholar, poet and grammar expert Christopher Sparkes from Petersfield, has spent twenty years painstakingly going back to the original Greek and Hebrew, and has identified "a thousand blunders" which have been repeatedly left uncorrected. Over the centuries, as translators strived to make the language more "modern" and understandable, so many errors and mistranslations have occurred that many of the original meanings have been obscured, or even lost. The acid test, according to Sparkes, is that if you translate the English versions back to their original Greek or Hebrew, they are too often nowhere near the original. So what has gone wrong? The problem facing translators is that they already knew - or thought they knew - the stories and teachings they were translating, so when the original Greek or Hebrew didn't quite fit with them, they "fidgeted" the words to make them fit with what they believed. Words have been added, taken away or changed to fit with specific creeds or beliefs. As George Gershwin wrote "The things that you're liable to read in the Bible - it ain't necessarily so!" Christopher Sparkes has taken a different approach, using "Deep Grammar, Transcendent Logic, Internal Harmony, and Diamond-Mining Research", to unpick the locks, untangle the barbed wire, and discover the meanings of Greek and Hebrew words and phrases which have been wrongly translated in every single English version. A brave thing to do as, over the centuries, men have been hunted down and assassinated by being burned at the stake for daring to translate into English or tamper with the established Latin Vulgate translation of Jerome in 390 AD.

The story starts in Lahore, Pakistan prior to the 1947 partition, with the first generation of Kumar's taking the difficult decision to move to their hometown in Kitna, Punjab, India and finally travelling for better prospects to the UK. It covers the challenges faced by those who found themselves starting from scratch in new surroundings, trying their best to provide for their families, whilst also trying to assimilate to an unknown environment and culture. It is my hope that this honest account of struggle, achievement and survival may strike a chord with some of you. I strongly feel, it is only by taking stock of the past and where one has come from that we are able to make the most of our present and set a direction for the future. This journey has allowed me to delve into the stories of yesteryear, reflect with family and friends on old tales and capture them for evermore in this book, before they get lost in the passage of time. It has been an extremely cathartic and reflective process which covers mistakes made, achievements won and crucially, the lessons learnt. I hope you enjoy my journey so far.

A Jewish JesusA feature of the readings from ''Jesus the Troublemaker'' is that they embed the story firmly in the Jewish culture of the time. So all names are in Aramaic, including the word for God (Aalah). Some of the prayers are in Hebrew. The worship in the Temple is described and the Passover meal as well.  The Last Eight DaysWe walk with Jesus 18 miles uphill from Jericho to Jerusalem. We get a front-row seat at the Last Supper and experience the cliff-hanging twists and turns of the various trials of Jesus on Good Friday. A letter from a woman follower, Salome, makes surprising sense of what really happened on Easter Day. The last three weeks of Lent are concerned with the Last Supper, the trials of Jesus and finally the crucifixion. Maps and DrawingsA map of Jerusalem in Jesus'' day, plus specially commissioned drawings, enable the reader to grasp the physical environment of the events. Group StudyFor those who want to use it as a basis for a Lent study group, two discussion questions per week are suggested after the Introduction. Daily HelpsComments discuss the biblical evidence for each incident. Personal reflections relate the story to our everyday life. A suggestion is provided for us to do something in response, whether to pray or to do something.
