Rife with local color and laugh-out-loud dialogue, SUBTEXT, A Nervous Novel, is a love letter to New York City in the 1990s and the irrepressible gay community. The storyline follows a family of friends as they navigate a series of significant events set in The Big Apple. A bartender with a predilection for panic and Twenty-Year Scotch, a consummately shirtless soap opera lothario with silver-blue eyes and a Basset Hound named Frank, a Broadway starlet whose vocal chops, theatrical flops, and Clairol Nice'n Easy No. 6R Light Copper curly mops harness the power to heal sorrow-filled souls, a "va fongooling" Staten Island meatball merchandiser with a mishigas for malapropisms, and a muscle-ripped, motorcycle booted, sager-than-he-should-be leather daddy are among the novel's colorful characters. When a terrifying hate crime results in a perilously dire outcome, each of the family members is forced to take tight hold of their dreams. Together they stumble upon the universal, gemstone discoveries that exist between the lines-the subtext of life, both hidden and heart-touching. The story's ultimate message delivers a riveting, personal narrative of hopes and desires, and the disappointments that must be overcome if one is to perceive all the beauty that life has to offer.
The author goes into a brief history of his own family to explain the environment he grew up in. Various turmoils in Europe, culminating with WWII, brought communism to Yugoslavia, where he grew up and worked for several years. He gives us some ideas why people tried for years to crawl from under the Iron curtain imposed by The Soviet Union, and escape to the West. He later joined an American corporation and worked in Western Europe, the Far East and The United States and shares with us some insights in the countries, his experiences in working within different systems, as well as some personal vignettes about people and places he has encountered.Raoul Fischer grew up in Zagreb, on the East, the communist side of the Iron Curtain. He graduated, as an electrical engineer, from the University of Zagreb. His career in computers started with IBM, and shortly after, he joined Sperry Univac, where he stayed until retirement. He worked all over the world in general and marketing manager capacities, and twice had a responsibility for hardware and software development.Today, he lives with his spouse Taisa, between Pennsylvania and Florida, and still travels extensively, Chinese virus permitting.

We live in a culture that lacks Honor and Integrity. Without Honor, we will continue the cycles of rebellion and disregard for one another. As Believers, it is our job to change that. Our generation is in need of authenticity, transparency, and integrity from the leaders of this generation. No longer will "do what I say and not what I do" concepts be tolerated. It's our time as a body to display this in action, and in deeds. We must interrupt the world system norms, with kingdom initiatives, principals, and agendas. Honor: Kingdom Currency, Prophetic Perspective is dedicated to restoring the Honor among us. Through my journey I've learned to live my life with true Honor and Integrity. Through Honor, God gave me beauty for ashes, and restored to me the years that the enemy thought he took. He anointed my head with oil and my cup is running over, surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, because I will allow honor to have a continual voice in my life. And so can you. Experience the transformational change of living through Honor and Integrity. What is Honor saying about you?
