summary Gripping and emotional. That's exactly what you'll find as you read this book; every page will keep you wanting more. This is the kind of book you just can't put down, and I'm sure you're going to want to read it twice. This is a story of a sweet little boy who turned out to be a bad boy, although everyone knows right from wrong. I'm sure as you read through my book, you'll understand what went wrong. From the cover, you can see the sweet little kid that nobody ever looked out for. I can remember when I was about eight years old, walking around the neighborhood looking for a church to go to. It seems I was always alone and on my own, but that doesn't bother me anymore. Not having anyone to count on through the years has made me tough and hard. I guess you could even say hard-core through the years. I've had to learn everything on my own mostly out of necessity. If my car broke down, I fixed it. When the plumbing broke, I fixed it. In fact, there's really not much I can't do, even write a book. I got the idea to write my book from my picture on the cover of this book. I would sit and look at that picture, and the inscription on the bottom "My Precious Bobby," and I would think to myself, What a joke. Nobody ever treated me precious. Or how could so many crazy things happen to one person? So please sit back and enjoy.

Growing up, my mother told me stories of her childhood. As a young girl, I understood the narrative, but as I grew older, I realized that what I knew of my mother''s past was incomplete, with only bits and pieces that made her life feel like it was a recipe, and I couldn''t reconcile the final product. Even as a young adult, I did not understand or appreciate the true essence of my mother''s life. As I got older, I began to try to put those pieces in order, like a jigsaw puzzle. But in the end, I was missing something. The picture was incomplete because I couldn''t bring it to life. My mind could recall the facts, the events, and the journey that was so eloquently described to me over the years, but I was missing her passion and the courage that she needed to muster in order to make what must have been heart-wrenching decisions about how to survive an impending world war. There were sacrifices at every turn. My mother denied her heritage; she left her home, her things, her city, and her country. And as her family scattered throughout Europe, she lost a piece of her soul. An Unforgotten Heart is my pledge to my mother that I have, after all these years, found her heart, and I carry a huge part of her heart with me always, and it is my plan with this book to continue to carry her heart to my daughter and to the generations that follow.

As time passes, we often forget or in many situations we never know the history of us as a nation and as a people. This book contains both positive and negative accounts of us as a nation of immigrants of whom many found success. It also tells the story of those who although worked hard found it as an unfriendly all too often a place of isolation and brokenness. There is, however, a hope that for what seems to have taken centuries to arrive-a hope that black people have wondered why have the believers in an almighty God taken so long to acknowledge by their actions to speak out and express what is wrong with us as a people, a nation, and a world! For the first time, we see the awesome shedding of influence of people around the world speaking to those who have for so long ignored the plight and indignity forced on segments of society by using our political system and unjust laws to violate basic human rights of its own citizens! America, we can do better; we must do better if we are to be that light that sits upon the hill for the world to see! If we continue as we have done historically; the question will not be one of what happened to the village but rather one the world will ask in what happened to America?
