In poetry form, topically organized, Kathi tells true stories from her growing up years. Every poem lands and completes on the same drumbeat phrase, no questions asked: "and I am grateful and blessed." It works like magic in my mind's eye, and I believe it can do the very same for any person anywhere in any language anytime.

Still They Speak from Beyond The Bolted Door is a very generational book - connecting ALL of our stories past/present and future. Every story matters, and this book is a collection of stories and quotes, and poems - reminding us that none of our stories are finished until ALL of our stories are finished. At this time let's consider the privilege of NOW being able to leave clues behind - whatever that might look like for each person. What an utter relief to find healing so that generations to come will find blessings instead of curses, and will have a crumb trail to follow to find purpose, faith, and hope. The journey might play out differently but the goal is the same - to get everyone home to heaven. Hebrews 11:39 & 40 tells us: "These (our ancestors) were all commended for their faith, yet NONE of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for US so that only together with us would they be made perfect." From the halls of eternity still they speak, cheering us on to embrace reckless courage to finish the race against all odds - not just for ourselves, but for those who were here before us, and for those who come after us. We must.

An Evolution of Empowerment: Voices of Women in Medicine and Their Allies is a powerful anthology in which Dr. Shikha Jain, a distinguished board-certified hematology and oncology physician, and Dr. Avital O'Glasser, an esteemed hospitalist and expert in perioperative medicine, bring together a collection of captivating pieces from the Women in Medicine Summit® blog (www.wimedicine.org/blog) created by Dr. O'Glasser. Founded by Dr. Jain, the Women in Medicine Summit® is an empowering 501(c)3 nonprofit platform that promotes the professional growth and development of women in the medical field. An Evolution of Empowerment urges readers from all backgrounds to recognize the pressing need for change and growth in addressing healthcare gender inequities. Studies consistently demonstrate that a diverse workforce improves healthcare outcomes, yet we still struggle to bridge the gender gap within the medical field. Despite the availability of data, finding practical solutions to close this gap remains an ongoing challenge. The collective dialogue surrounding gender disparities in medicine has gained momentum, and it is no longer taboo to share personal stories or advocate for change. This anthology explores concepts that continue to perpetuate inequities in medicine such as the leaky pipeline, structural misogyny, gaslighting, bullying, sexism, and racism. A call to action and a source of inspiration, An Evolution of Empowerment is a must-read for anyone interested in the fields of medicine and science, gender equity, and social justice-including women, male allies, and gender non-binary friends and colleagues.

Deadly Ingenuity: A History of Unusual Weapons from Around the World and Across Time does something new in the study of weaponry and martial arts. It traverses the centuries and continents while focusing exclusively on fighting tools that are not the usual suspects. It also brings to light some historical weapons and fighting techniques that have never before been surveyed. The diverse panoply of objects takes the reader from islands (Hawaii, Okinawa, New Zealand), to plains (Argentina, the American Southwest) and from jungles (Borneo, Brazil) to cities (New York City, London, Seoul, Tokyo, Venice). Nor are those complete lists. Sources include but are not limited to Chinese and Japanese martial arts texts, Irish mythology, Victorian crime blotters, naval history, Greek classics, Roman historians, the memoirs of English knights and 21st century headlines. Robert Escobar's first weapons book was praised by an American History professor, an award winning author, an archeologist, a legendary weapons author and others. He worked feverishly to ensure this work is a worthy follow-up.

My illness is like a freight train that blindly follows its path, relying on its rails. If the train ventures off the path, for whatever reason, there is a certainty of impending disaster. I am that train. My journey with mental illness, specifically bipolar disorder, has woven itself throughout my life for forty years. Whether it was active, or dormant, it has always lurked in the shadows. But, this illness, like any illness, can be managed and maintained. This story is particularly relevant for today's society. It is our charge to know a segment of our society who, for the most part, is misunderstood. When the Brakes Fail provides a forum for understanding the myths, the injustices, and the stigma of mental illness.

This book is somewhat unique. I am not the author although it was written through me . He is the author not me. Why I ended up being the one to be used by Him remains a complete baffling mystery. I am simply His humble steward in this process.Everyone living in America recognizes Home Depot. They are a staple. It is a poem containing 2,500 quatrains that contain life as a part time cashier in a small Home Depot store. It is not always easy reading but it has appeal and value for anyone willing to read it.What are the takeaways? For me the greatest takeaway is humility. The people portrayed in thsi writing are far superior to me. I am not worthy to be the proverbial gum on their shoe. Their trust and friendship provided me is more valuable than gold from Ophir. They live very difficult lives in an extraordinary manner. They never had a level playing filed. they must climb Mt Everest each day. There is humor, pathos and at times Upton Sinclair type muckraking all mixed into the writing. The work shows the good and the bad of life, work and in some ways America today.

The Green New Deal has become the global emblem for combatting climate change and averting planetary disaster. But it couldn't be more wrong in its characterization of the problem and prescription for what to do about it. Masquerading as the pinnacle of liberal progress, it would lead us down a path just a destructive as the one we're already on.This comprehensive report-at once analytical, philosophical, political, and an accessible, heartfelt call to action-maps an alternative to the scores of energy transition plans drunk on illusory 'tweakerism' and political correctness. Grounded in sober ecology and metaphysics, it outlines what would actually be required to wean society off fossil fuels, avert catastrophic collapse, and claim a sustainable path worthy of dignified human beings. Containing an extensive yet concise exploration of the problématique (why the Green New Deal is flawed and what a genuine one would look like) followed by detailed policy recommendations and fiscal proposals, this is both a roadmap for governments and a valuable resource for anyone interested in energy and building the New World.Unlike other commentary on this topic, The PallasCeres Report is not a Marxist critique, whereby socialist techno-industrial society is presumed to be more sustainable than capitalist techno-industrial society. It does not outline the litany of problems with "renewables" only to conclude that they're still better than fossil fuels. It is not a vague call for 'degrowth' accompanied by a 'circular economy.' Nor does it champion empty rhetoric about 'free energy' that would simply continue to power our destructive system. It is a giant leap outside the box, detailing why soulless modern civilization is unsustainable and how an entirely new way of being can be born at this pivotal time.
