I wrote this book because I wanted to find a fun and relatable way to teach kids about the power of their words/voice, and to better understand the responsibility they have when speaking to themselves and others. We all have gifts and power inside of us - using our voice is one way we can make a difference in the world.
It was a joy to grow up in New Orleans, Louisiana, during the sixties and seventies. The Big Easy was always, and still is, an urban community, where people take pride in their neighborhoods, the food they cook, the schools they attend, and the social clubs of which they are members. In addition to those experiences, all New Orleanians can share classic stories about their childhoods, including Mardi Gras events or tales about riding their bikes across the city then stopping at a local corner-grocery store to purchase a po'boy sandwich. I have shared some of my unique experiences that, hopefully, will help the readers of this book reminisce about their past experiences and cherish those memories while sharing them with friends and family.
April 20, 2017, revealed painful, horrific truths amidst that life-shattering night pierced by red and blue lights. Awakening in a never-ending nightmare, Clemmie-Li staggers and struggles through the fight for survival and sanity. She pleads "not to be this angry," while feeling hopeless, desperately alone, and scared. Will anyone help? This true rendition, condensed from memories etched in the author's mind and words she penned in journals, vulnerably exposes Li's life during the last five years and how she more than survived. For anyone facing traumatic life events, learn how she forgave, healed, and moved forward into living long-forgotten dreams.
Like most rebel-idolizing, in-a-constant-fugue-state-of-awareness teenagers who are thrust into adult life while still holding the title Child, I survive merely off energy drinks, the air of parental disappointment, and Skittles.

My daughter and her hubby were on a date night. I had the sweet pleasure of hanging with my two granddaughters. Lo and behold, Sandman started biting the youngest one. She kept exclaiming, "I want my paci!" Lordy, Lordy, it was nowhere to be found. To lighten the situation, I made up a song, and we clapped and sang as we searched for the missing pacifier. And so Paci, Oh, Paci! was born.Turn that panic moment into a fun one as you sing while looking for that paci or chupón or wubby, or whatever your child calls it. What a happy moment it is when it's found-one quite deserving of a flip, a jig, a smile, and a great sigh of relief! Because the alternative cry that could possibly arise from your little one's lips will not be music to your ears!Praises, as they grow, they will no longer need a pacifier. It served its purpose, and their merriment continues with other loves.Go to paciohpaci.com for tune.
Natalia's Closet was created after my daughter, when she was three years old, asked, "How should I dress?" The most practical and educational idea I could think of at the time was to respond by telling her a fun story using illustrations. I wanted her to be able to cut out images and put them together to create her own style. That is how this story, which goes through the history of clothing, came to life. While writing this book, I discovered that, regardless of what the current fashion trends are, when children accompany their parents to choose their own clothes, they are happy...and happy children become confident adults.
