  • - (The Lost Manuscript of Alexander Hackett)
    av Steve William Laible
    192

Summary: This is a beautiful story written in a bygone era of Hemingway. Sailor Eyes - The Lost Manuscript is a pure literary treasure. First written by Alexander Hackett, circa 1953 as a gentle, affectionate, fictional account of life on the Cape outside Boston, Massachusetts, USA in the 1850s. This original manuscript is typed on an actual typewriter and published in its original form including strikeouts, margin notes, etc. It follows the lives of an aristocrat ship builder, his debutante daughter, rugged and brave ship captains, widows and a young man who has sailor eyes. Courting story lines are weaved into this charming tale of land, sea and heart. The manuscript was passed down for generations and eventually forgotten in the seaman's trunk stored in an attic for decades aging with cobwebs and sea salt until it arrived without ceremony at the passing of the late author's wife. The grandson, William Turrell, wished to honor his step-grandfather, who passed in 1970s, by asking Steve William Laible, the publisher of The Kodel Group, LLC to publish the manuscript as was originally intended. Collectible First Edition. A polished, finished novel in its original form is also available as ISBN: 978-1-62485-024-0. Also a Collectible First Edition. (You will truly enjoy the read.)

"Thug is meant only as percolating commentary on social injustice plaguing our down towns of our hometowns. This dialogue is of national importance, in both understanding the escalation of rhetoric and deconstruction of our civilized society-namely, law and order. This unraveling of our democracy, our republic, must be addressed now more than ever. Social media and digital technologies have not only engaged but enlivened the disenfranchised by documenting grave injustices giving voice through captured imagery, hence memorializing extreme failures by law enforcement. The overriding concern now is how might we turn the corner and not only coexist but thrive"--
