Islamic Governance: Governance of the Divinely-Sanctioned Social Order under Conditions of Religious Solidarity The four volumes of Ayatollah Khamenei's Islamic Governance provide the theoretical framework for authentic Islamic governance in the modern era that is deeply rooted in Islamic principles and in what makes us human. Authored by one of the foremost theoreticians and practitioners of the revolutionary Islamic movement that culminated in the triumph of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the book provides a genuine alternative both to the morally bankrupt liberal social order of the West, as well as to the defunct and sterile alternatives provided within the rest of the Islamic world. Volume Two: The ImamateThe Imamate begins with commentaries on two scriptural proofs for the Imamate: the Sermon of Ghadir Khumm and the Had¿th of the Two Weighty Trusts. Ayatollah Khamenei then provides a survey of various approaches that have been taken to the issue of leadership, including a discussion concerning the necessity of the imamate, the succession to the prophet, and the characteristics and functions of the imam. The volume closes with a chapter on Illegitimate Governance (Taghut), and a chapter on Divinely-Sanctioned Authority & Governance. The reader will develop a contextual understanding of the concept of authentic Islamic leadership and how its absence can lead to many of the injustices of history.

Angel in the Wilderness is a love story set in the wilderness of southeast Iran which borders Pakistan and is overwhelmingly Sunni. Rasul, who is from a family of Shia scholars and is a third-year university student, falls in love with Hakimeh-Khatun, a Sunni girl with whom he has had a few very brief interactions at the university they both attend. Things start heating up when Ali decides to propose and to meet Hakime-Khatun's family. Hakime-Khatun's guardian does not oppose the marriage in principle. Still, things get complicated when the Friday Prayer leader of their village joins the proposal ceremony, bringing his Salafist tendencies with him. Majid Pur-Vali's mastery of the intricate relationships and tensions that exist under the surface between the Sunni and Shia communities comes out clearly in the authenticity of the dialogues and the situations he creates. Each scene bristles with tension, all of which act to open a window onto a fascinating, hitherto unknown world that provides a plethora of nuanced insight, all of which takes place in the context of the unfolding of a heart-wrenching melodrama.

Allama Askari's The Saqifa provides a comprehensive look at one of the most pivotal moments in Islamic history. Allama Askari meticulously examines the political coup that occurred immediately upon the death of the Prophet, whose consequences influenced the entirety of early Islamic history, enabling us to see this fateful event in an entirely new light. It is obligatory reading for anyone interested in understanding the political, social, and religious factors that acted on the formative period of the Islamic community. It is vital reading for those who are interested in determining exactly what happened throughout the political process that unfolded after the passing of the Prophet up until the death of Uthman, which led to the investiture of the office of the leadership of the community, to be able to evaluate the legitimacy of the process. Allama Askari is not well known in the West yet, but this book should change that. He was a scholar whose intellectual stature towered above all others in his field. Allama Askari was to Islamic historiography what Alama Tabatabai was to tafsir and what Ayatollah Khomeini was to Shi'a political science, both theoretical and practical. These three were the giants in the Shia intellectual pantheon of the 20th century. From the Preface by Blake Williams: "... a word of caution is called for, as the book is intellectual dynamite. Its thesis is a dangerous one, and it is put forward by a most preeminent scholar whose qualifications are second to none when it comes to historical research and analytical insight. .... Chapter by chapter, Allama Askari drives his thesis home with irresistible force. And he does so with an almost exclusive use of Sunni sources, which is a technique he pioneered."

Al-'Amaali (lit. dictations) of Abu Ja'far Muhammad b. 'Ali b. Husain b. Musa b. Babawayh Qomi (known more famously as Shaykh al-Saduq (the truthful Shaykh)) (d. ~ 991) is one of the earliest sources of ahadith from the Aimmah and the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon them). The book contains the transcripts of al-Shaykh al- Saduq's classes which were held twice a week on Tuesday and Friday from Rajab 18, 367/March 1, 978 until Sha'ban 11, 368/March 14, 979 in Mashhad and other areas in modern-day Iran.Shaykh al-Saduq quotes 1021 ahadith with their sources in 97 sessions (or assemblies) on various topics in theology (and ideology), ethics, tafsir of the Holy Quran, Islamic history, jurisprudence and more. These sessions and the choice of hadith seem to be primarily aimed at a general audience, with most narrations not being of a general nature and often following a theme based on the Islamic occasion occurring at the time. A great deal of Ahadith (almost at-least one in every assembly) is extolling the virtues of Imam 'Ali b. Abi Talib (as). The AuthorShaykh al-¿ad¿q was one of the most outstanding Shi'¿ hadith scholars of the 4th/10th century and the most prominent hadith scholar and faqih of the hadith school of Qom. Born to another prominent scholar during the minor occultation of Imam Al-Mahdi (aj) in the holy city of Qom, it is reported that al-¿ad¿q's birth was a result of a supplication made by Imam Mahdi (aj). Al-¿ad¿q authored some of Shiism's most seminal works, including Man La Yahduruhul Faqih, Kam¿l al-Din, al-I`tiqad¿t al-Imamiyya, Kit¿b al-Tawh¿d, Ma`ani al-Akhbar, `Ilal al- Shara'i`, `Uyun al-Akhb¿r al-Rida, al-Khis¿l, Thawab al-A`m¿l, and over 300 others.

Qasem Soleimani was a towering figure in the Iranian resistance and revolutionary movement. You are holding in your hands an English translation ofthe first-ever book published by the Hajj Qasem Library. It is an autobiography of Qasem Soleimani, former commander of the Qods Force; an elite branch of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Of course, if you are reading this, you are likely already familiar with this man and his life's work.Soleimani is viewed primarily as a military leader, by his lovers and haters alike. However, this work is not a story of the life of General Qasem Soleimani - the commander, the strategist - so much as it is an account of the exceedingly simple and modest lifestyle of rural (and more specifically, tribal) Iran before the Islamic Revolution in 1979.Thus, this autobiography can be described as an origin story: a first-hand look into the humble beginnings of a man who would end up shaking the world to its core.
