"3/4/2020I am grateful for the consistency of friends in my life. I am grateful to those beautiful individuals who I call family. I am grateful for learning to love myself. Lastly, I'm grateful for my desires. I have been tenaciously trying to better myself. Beating myself up and just going through the highs and lows to arrive at the point where I am. It might be the hardest thing to accept, that I am worthy of ushering in what I want to see. That a good outcome could come from all my tears, years, and fears. Ultimately, I'm fighting with the feeling that the way I am is somehow wrong and can't work in this world. I don't know how else to say it. What has the world come to that people feel they can't be accepted? Their ideas aren't worthy and if brought into the light people would see them as ugly? Because we're around that. We judge others. We can't reconcile our differences or appreciate what makes another unique. I am too much in some ways and not enough in others. I know I can do better. I absolutely want to. That comes through learning. Who will teach us to accept ourselves and then move forward in a powerful way? Not this disempowered, I'm ugly, bad, "not good enough as I am" way. I would love to do that!"

Philcalist's Querncia, a safe place for the lovers of small things. A delicate collection of shrapnel. Fragments of a life lived, haphazardly immortalized with ink. A beautiful mess. A book best used for easing the passage of time or stabilizing wobbly tables, and happy to be of use either way.

"To love this life at all is to listen to its simultaneous song of sunshine and rainclouds.-This book is a collection of poems, prose, psalms, and raw sentiments from the lens of a young woman who lives with what she considers a blessing and a curse - feeling everything deeply.Like a painting with shadows and highlights, the twenty-one pieces in this book attempt to capture into words and explore both the darkness and light life has to offer each one of us. After all, if there is one thing that life is not, it's colorless."

S I M P L E. These are my feelings, my emotions, and/or my real-life experiences that I have gone through to get to where I am today. I only hope that when you read each poem, you will feel the same feelings I felt when I was experiencing it-- The pain. The anger. The sadness. The confusion. The forgiveness. But most importantly, I want you to feel THE LOVE. Because, I will be honest, always holding the love inside my soul, even when I couldn't always feel it at times is why I am still gratefully and thankfully here.

I have written 20 poems as I turned 20! These include my reflections on local to global issues that affect young people including: politics; climate change and pollution; feminism; and race and identity in an age of social media. I've attempted a range of poetry styles, some new and others more familiar. I hope they give an insight into a perception of a world that is slightly different to yours, but I also hope that there will be some things you can relate to too!

"From the void to fullness, the moon travels a transformational path. This course of the moon is symbolic of our imperfect journey, which may or may not always be beautiful but remains enriching in many ways. Transformation is a difficult path because it occurs entwined with life as it is. The soul evolves despite life as well as because of it. Only a few reach complete illumination, but those who reach the gibbous, the 'almost there' stage of evolution, are the ones who look towards the rest with kindness, teach compassion, and show the way. Those who reach this stage of evolution know what it means to be humanly divine or divinely human.Gibbous is a collection of poems that reveal the beauty of an imperfect path leading to a meaningful life."
