Fyodor Dostoevsky's Demons (1871-1872) is a novel that depicts a real event in Russian history, the "Nachaev affair" of 1869, in which an individual, Sergei Nachaev, a Nihilist revolutionary who was sponsored by another famous revolutionary, philosopher, and anarchist: Mikhail Bakunin-who has been called the father of anarchist theory, was involved, if not totally responsible for the murder of a student who was intent on revealing some of the activities of Nachaev. Nachaev represents a new form of revolutionary spirit which Dostoevsky imparts to his character Pyotr Steponovich Verkovensky in which what was only a product of intellectual ideation becomes a wild and uncontrollable force unto itself. Dostoesvky translates this anarchist drama into a powerful myth that serves as a testament and warning of the dangers of revolutionary methods and ideas. An important message for today's heavily polarized world.

This work is a unique view of the history of race or color among the Jewish people. The following work is a short view of excerpts from the Torah, Gemara, Mishnah, Mishneh, and Zohar. We the Israelites of antiquity, are responding to negative connotations attributed to the Jewish view of race and colorism. It is a common belief that black and Kushites are seen in a negative light based solely on the color of one's skin. With Hashem's assistance, we seek to disband this belief and share the beauty of the Jewish tradition on this important topic. Judaism is replete with references to black, Black skin, Kushi, Kushite, and negative expressions based solely upon the color of one's skin. However, when we look into both the Written Torah and Oral Torah with an unbiased view a different reality becomes clear. Are we discussing race or character? We, Israelites conclude no. As the reader navigates this short work, the intention of black and Kushites is not based upon race but deeds.
