The Yale Russian Chorus (YRC) is a unique phenomenon-part singing group, part fraternity, part discussion group-that started in 1953 at Yale at the height of the Cold War, a time when exhibiting a strong interest in matters Russian and Soviet could be seen as suspect in the USA. It developed into a respectable tenor-bass chorus, which has participated in and won prizes at major international choral festivals. In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Chorus's founding, the YRC Alumni Association has published this new songbook, to document music that the Chorus has sung in the past and to provide a resource for the future. We hope that it will also prove useful for other singing groups that wish to incorporate this music into their repertoire.
A young architect requests a personal day to arrange a payment plan to cover the expenses of his late mother's cancer treatment. He goes through seven levels of corporate management making his request and is denied by all of them. He is told that he must report to work the next day-September 11, 2001. He, along with 2752 other souls perished when the twin towers of the World Trade Center fell in the worst terrorist attack on American soil in history. But the seven people who doomed him to death ranging from a design team leader to the CEO of the architectural corporation were away that day on a business junket in Las Vegas. Now, the brother of the young man seeks revenge. Using as a calling card the image of a chess piece knight to commemorate his younger brother's reputation as a nationally famous player, he systematically aims to hunt down those individuals who he holds responsible for his brother's death. Because the image is of a knight, Inspector Mag Goldman of the NYPD calls upon his friend and expert in all things Medieval, Professor Bradley Davison of Queens College to help track down the killer. Dr. Davison had assisted the police in solving eight previous serial killings. But in this most challenging case, could he once again use his formidable expertise to bring a serial killer to justice?

Anastasia Marie Cassella's book, 'Two Sides of a Bi-Polar Survivor' shares the promiscuousness, manic side of a bi-polar survivor, along with the depressive, suicidal side. Read about the pendulum of happy and sad times. This disorder is as hard to diagnose, as it is to live with. Not everyone with this illness is a survivor. Reading Ana's story might help you acknowledge your own struggles with Bi-Polar, help a friend, or family member appreciate what these survivors endure.5-Stars: It takes courage to tell your story and the writing can be a form of therapy. I admire Anastasia for sharing her story, and no one should judge her. Review by Editor at Book Marketing Global Network.

An idea passes like a delicate thread from the scientific Enlightenment through Romanticism and the Victorian age: that of a veil behind which true knowledge may be found by those able to draw it aside. The Thin Veil of London is a journey into the worlds of Faery and science, madness and ecstasy, and what Arthur Machen (1863-1947) called 'the eternal beauty hidden beneath the crust of common and commonplace things; hidden and yet burning and glowing continually if you care to look with purged eyes'. The ideas that informed his writing at the turn of the last century lie at the brink of Modernism but look back to both ancient horrors and ancient truths. Yearning for transcendence, Machen articulates not only the anxieties of his age but also a deep tradition in which we still find ourselves immersed at the beginning of the twenty-first century. This book emerged from tours of Holborn and Bloomsbury performed in 2013 in collaboration with the Museum of London to mark Machen's 150th birthday.
May is a few years out of a bad relationship and thinks she will never find butterflies in her stomach, belly somersaulting and heart-fluttering real love. For years she has believed she was never good enough for someone else to love her as much as she loves them. Can one night out in East London with her girls change all that when she meets a handsome Northern Irish guy? Will she find the love of her life in her local? Will it be another missed opportunity? Or will love always be too good to be true? As May's best friend Anna brutally but truthfully says, "You, my darling, aren't going to find your sex god, love of your life, on your sofa, so get the bloody hell up and out of your flat and find yourself, your Donny."
'The Rogue Bear' short story is based on a true story. The story reflects the experience Anastasia had when a bear tries to enter Anastasia's Cherryfield, Maine's ranch. Other short stories in this collection include 'Just Like Grandma' who tried to protect her grandchildren from an abusive alcoholic father. 'Small Blurb' is about a woman who fell on the tracks of the IRT in NYC. 'The Writer' who follows immediate predictions of a painting above his desk. 'You're Supposed To Be Scared' is a great Halloween story of a haunted house you would not want to visit EVER!5-Stars: Anastasia Marie Cassella is known for her short stories. Like a lot of people in Maine and other rural areas, stories are created, told, and passed down through the generations. Story telling is an art and an endangered species. I hope Anastasia writes more short stories in the future. Review by Editor at Book Marketing Global Network.
