Russian military deception, generally known as Maskirovka, is a centuries-old military concept that began to take on added importance at the start of the twentieth century. Now formally developed and practiced, the concept of Maskirovka encompasses a broad range of tactics, from the use of camouflage to the practice of denial and deception-all having applications in the military, intelligence, and political arenas. Maskirovka's arsenal of deceptive measures include concealment, manoeuvers intended to deceive, categorical denial, the use of decoys and dummies, and the spreading of propaganda and disinformation.
The Carter family has lived for countless generations in the same rural Mississippi town, hours out from Jackson. Their situation is marred by death: Mr. Carter's sister, Emma, had killed herself in heartbreak many years ago, and later his wife had suffered a miscarriage. Now they live with their nine-year-old daughter, Sophia, but Mrs. Carter would never recover from the past. Though she is inconsolable, Mr. Carter attempts to save his neighbor, Herbert, from the same emotional ruin as he struggles with the guilt of Emma's death.
Based on his personal experience and the knowledge he has acquired on his journey as an entrepreneur, Diego Segura tells us how to focus on the excess in people's lives and transform it into a propellant to generate good habits and achieve abundance in various areas (emotional, economic, professional, family...).In these pages, the author invites us to take a twist on the statement "Nothing in excess is good" and choose, instead, those positive excesses that will strengthen our goals and lead us towards a life of intensity based on good habits practiced in excess. From the first pages, Segura engages the reader in a journey of self-awareness and self-reflection; through the five chapters that make up the book ("Do I have intelligence or stupidity?", "Know yourself", "Do you live or survive?", "Dreams, wishes, and goals", and "Focus your excess"), the reader will pose and answer questions to get to know themselves better, and thus be able to define their purposes and focus their excess.Under the philosophy that when you give selflessly and generously, sooner or later this is rewarded in abundance, Diego Segura decides to publish "Everything in excess is good" so that it is freely accessible to anyone interested in reading it.

Back in the late 40's & 50's, the abbreviation PK referred to a group of teenage boys whose fathers were prominent ministers (aka preachers) in the community where they grew up. These boys were well known usually because they were always "getting into trouble" of some sort. This is the story of one such youth who was able to overcome his troubled childhood and grow into an extraordinary adult and teacher through his faith in the Christian message of love & forgiveness. Rarely does one have the opportunity to go from the depths of failure & disillusionment to enormous forgiveness and positive growth!! This is his story.
This is a book written in retirement by two cousins, Peter Reynolds and Steven Erickson. Peter is a retired high school teacher. During his tenure as a teacher, he taught many subjects including special education, death and dying, Washington State history and his specialty, art. Peter was raised on a farm near the small town of Deer Park, Washington. He was drafted into the army and served in the Vietnam war. After returning from the war and finishing his education, he was hired as a teacher and taught the majority of his career in the same small town where he was born and raised.Steven was raised on a farm as well, not far from Peter and his family. He served in the US Marines and was a troop commander in the Vietnam war. After his service, Steven became an educator and taught abroad as well as in the Eastern Washington area for many years. He completed his professional life as a clinical psychologist in Spokane.During coffee, the cousins began a discussion about life and the myriad of possibilities for personalities and life experiences and how they develop. This morphed into a book that they named, There Ain't No Script For Life. This book is made up of 20 chapters consisting of topics such as Family, Education, Environment, Tribal Mentality, Sexuality etc.In writing this book, Peter and Steven are hoping that readers will be encouraged to engage in discussions and question their own scripts for life and how they got to where they are and where they hope to be. They especially want readers to realize and accept that they are truly unique in this world and in this universe.
In his tour de force "The Forced War: When Peaceful Revision Failed", Prof. Hoggan amply demonstrated by diplomatic history and correspondence that the cause and onus of the war in 1939, and of the larger World War, was due to the actions and desires of the English Tory aristocracy for a new war with Germany to retain their failing world empire. The Blind Century is a two-volume philosophical examination of America and Europe and the unseen underbelly of the West. Bared is America's true history, not the nice white-washed one that most were taught in public schools; but the rapacious one hidden under platitudes. This book is a more personal, "philosophy of history" by Dr. Hoggan, looking at the founding and growth of a messianic America; which in the 1930s stood behind Britain and egged them into the war. Volume I deals with America's foundation, history, and interference in European affairs. Volume II deals with Europe and the loss of the center-point of Western Civilization. Hoggan continues to astonish with his revelations of the history that is lies hidden behind the propaganda. The problems and continuing destruction of our present day civilization, whether in society, or the Church, including the continuing degeneration of all elements of society come from the results of this terrible war and the world it wrought.
Porter and Abby take on the world in the sequel to Friendshine. The shorter version of this book contains 14 photographs and 14 stories about the flowers and their locations from my travels. The expanded version contains the same 14 photos and stories but adds about thirty more pages of flowers for true floral lovers. I've wandered around the world for my entire adult life. Along the way, my best memories are the people I meet along my pathway. But, in this book, I focus on some of the beautiful flowers that have also grown up along my way. Each flower is beautiful, but they also come with stories that I've also shared.

This book is meant to be a tool. It's intended to be a guide to help those who are desiring and searching for a better life. A happier more fulfilled life. The Articles of LYFE is a collection of lessons learned. The 8 author / coaches came together with separate lessons that we all have learned over the coarse of our lives thus far. Yet we all have one common goal, and that's to help you become and BetterY OU. And that's because the only way you can have a BetterLYFE is to become a BetterYOU. You might have also noticed that in the title, "The Articles of LYFE," the word life is spelled differently. It is spelled L Y F E, and that's on purpose; it is not a mistype. LYFE stands for Landscape Your Future Everyday. I purposefully chose to use the word landscape because our minds are the real estates of our existence, Foreword vii and we're talking about mental real estate that manifests into a tangible landscapable piece of property. Our reality is the land on which we design, develop, and build our present & future selves / lives. The landscape relates to the layers of soil and connects that to the states of consciousness in the mind. So when you think about your mind, relate your result in life to the organic layer, which is the grass, the trees, the flowers, or the lack thereof, like a desert. Then you have the topsoil. The topsoil is going to be your conscious mind. The subsoil is going to be your subconscious mind. Then you have what they call the parental layer or the broken material. This is all of the stored-up situations, experiences, and events of your life. The quality of this layer will directly reflect the level or quality of understanding and definitions that you have attached to each and every event and situation of your life. The final layer is the bedrock, and bedrock is going to be who you are to the core. It's who you are down to your true identity, which is something you can never change because, no matter what you do to yourself, you will always be you. I hope you will find this book inspirational, empowering, enabling, and transformative. I hope it truly serves as a guide and a navigational and developmental tool to help you landscape the best future possible. What should you expect? Expect lessons, tips, and stories from different coaches, who are people just like you, and just like you, we all want a better life, and we're doing that by bettering our mindsets & life relationships. Keep that in mind as you read this book & be blessed.

This poetry book brings to life the death, rebirth, and life cycle we all face on our spiritual journey. It highlights the shadows of our fragmented selves that we often try to hide or ignore, but that can be recognized, reintegrated, and positively reinforced as we focus on processing our trauma and becoming the best versions of ourselves. Kate brilliantly refers to these 'shadows' throughout the book as her 'ghosts' and allows the reader to catch a glimpse at the power of acknowledging them, learning their names, and helping them heal. She also has set up the book to allow readers to go on their own journey of self-discovery if they so choose with guided shadow work journal prompts. While the goal of the book is to bring healing to those who seek it, Kate also recognizes that shadow work is a significant mental deep dive that everyone may not be prepared to explore, and that's okay. If you choose to only read this book as surface-level poetry and nothing more, that is perfectly fine. Additionally, if you decide that this book may bring up too many painful aspects of your past that you are not yet ready to address, there's no shame in waiting to read this one until you are-after all, what else are TBR lists for?

"Only Easy Music for Ukulele" is full of exactly that. All of the pieces herein are easy. You'll find a nice variety of popular classical melodies and favorite folk tunes from various traditions, all presented in simple textures and in keys that are comfortable to play on the ukulele. Nice repertoire for beginning ukulele players. Tablature and standard notation. Glossary, Notation Guide, and fingering diagrams for chords are provided. Many of the 41 tunes in this volume are melody only which can be played either with a pick or with the fingers of your right hand. Chords for an accompanist (and lyrics) are sometimes included. A few of the pieces are arranged in a simple two-voice fingerstyle or classical texture, and should be played with the fingers. The bass lines are mostly open string notes, so add a fuller sound without complicating the job of the left hand A handful of pieces use only the first 3 strings and can therefore be played on either an ukulele in standard reentrant tuning or one with a low G 4th string. A few of the tunes in this volume are also found within the first few pages of "Music for Classical and Fingerstyle Ukulele" or "More Music for Classical and Fingerstyle Ukulele." And a few pieces presented herein are treated to more complex arrangements in one of the above two books. Although the pieces are not strictly ordered from least to most challenging, those requiring the least technical skill are closer to the front of the book and those requiring the most experience are presented toward the end. All books by Whitaker for ukulele, including this one, can be previewed at the author's website. EllenWhitakerGuitar.com.
Readers may be aware that Thomas Bulford died recently (though not as recently as before), and that I had what I then regarded as the onerous honour of editing his lexicographical work.Following this, his son presented the Publisher with a box of scribblings that he said were his 'distinguished' father's.My impression was that they were, indeed, Thomas Bulford's (the senior).Firstly, they bore a striking resemblance to the 'essays' that the Publisher insisted on being incorporated in the English Companion as introductions to the various definitional categories.Secondly, and I say this with as much grace as I can, they, whilst being somewhat idiosyncratic in construction and questionable in logic, contained a number of insights into the human condition that were also occasionally present in the earlier volume.Accordingly, with less reluctance than before, I agreed to edit this material, and offer it to readers for their judgement.Editor
My theme is war and a particular man - a man driven by destiny to abandon Troy and sail to western Italy to fulfill his fate of founding the people who would build Rome. Fulfilling his destiny was not easy. Juno, the wife of Jupiter, the king of gods and men, opposed him, as did many warriors. They did not want him to bring his household gods - the Penates - to Latium on the western coast of Italy, to marry Lavinia, to found the city of Lavinium, and to become the ancestor of the Romans.Muse, remind me of the reasons why Juno hated Aeneas, a man renowned for his pietas, for his devotion to duty, whether to the gods, to his family, or to his destiny. Aeneas had respect for those things to which respect is due. Why did Juno make his fulfilling his destiny so difficult? Are the immortals capable of such anger?
In my wanderings around the globe, I've found lots of characters who are tricksters. Sometimes the pranks work. Sometimes they backfire in the trickster's face. In this particular story, the trickster is Coyote. Does the trick succeed or fail? You're just going to have to read the story to find out. Who is smarter? The coyote or the hen?I have traveled across the Maya world visiting archaeological sites. In Chichén Itzá, Mexico, I wondered around the great pyramid with thousands of visitors. Further south at Tikal, in Guatemala, I walked among the ruins with hundreds of fellow travelers. Best yet, at Copán, in Honduras, I strolled the area with a few dozen people.Upon arrival in the village of Copán Ruinas, Honduras, I was greeted immediately by Humberto. He only spoke Spanish, but I understood that he wanted to offer me a hotel room. It was a very long day of travel and I loved the ease of finding this room. And, it was the best possible thing that could have happened to me in Honduras.Humberto and his wife, Gilma, helped me find a worthy wall for a mural in the village. Also, Gilma's brother worked with local youth who dressed up as Maya warriors for cultural events. As it turned out, they had a performance while I was there. Not only did I get to see it, but I was the official photographer as they performed for the President of Honduras and the Secretary General of the United Nations! I have the warmest memories of extraordinary experiences as I crossed the Maya world. Everywhere I travel, I meet the most wonderful people along my path. None welcomed me any more than Humberto and Gilma. Thank you for everything, my friends. Gracias por todo, mis amigos.I wanted to visit the Maya world long before I actually set foot there. And, the destination of choice was the ruins of Tikal in Guatemala. It's magnificent! The main temple there inspired the one drawn in the pages of this book. For the complete Tikal experience, you also need to stay in Flores during your journey. It's a delightful island community that serves as a base camp for Tikal. Stroll along its colorful homes, buy some very beautiful fabric, and get a taste of local Maya cuisine.

This is a big joke. a 20,000 word joke to be precise. The conceit being 'remove narrative from a novel' and replace it with 'flattened versions' in the form of chapter titles that refer to narratology terminology. As a second tier, I decided to use an Oulipan lipogram-type constraint in which each chapterlet is named after a letter of the English alphabet and does not contain that letter. This is another play on absence. My hope is that the lack of narrative is filled-in by the reader, as I found when I wrote it. Clearly there are protagonists. Although not spoken of directly, there are also the affects of events having taken place. Any implication of story has been generated by chance through the cut-up of archeological reports written by Bethan Bones and other material like lists of adjectives. The lack of the meaning-creating signal of narrative, produces a kind of null, a flatline a drone from which your transcendence may be apparent. Don't forget to laugh.
