What if the fairies wrote their own stories? What would they say about themselves? What would they say about humans? Have they been maligned throughout history? I've always wanted to meet a fairy, but I doubt I ever will. I'm not sure if there're even real. Fairies inhabit our imagination and mythology and live in every culture. Even the science fiction aliens of today are inspired by fairies. If fairies are so constant throughout folk stories, how could they not be real? In our inherited mythology fairies can be good or evil or just tricksters. They bite, make love, hurt people, help them, correct wrongs, and are mostly misunderstood. They avoid humans because they're offended by our crude behavior and live just outside our sight, preferring to be active at night. They are often pictured without clothes because they are modest in thought and do not carry our impure thoughts, or so the mythology goes. This is all wonderful for dreams and fantasy stories, but where in human psychology do these magical beings come from? They must be hidden in some primordial memory we inherit. This book for young adults and the young at heart explores the fairies that live in the 21st century imagination. This is the second book in a series.

"A valuable, transformative prescription for a life of greater truth. Hinsley crafts a meticulously researched argument that will keep readers engaged and inspired...the author shows that readers can choose to master their awareness, consume content that uplifts them, and uncover motivations that ignite their sense of purpose. Moreover, this emotional evolution comes not at the expense of success but through creating it-resulting in joy for both readers and their communities." - KIRKUS ReviewsForm & Essence is about the undeniable power of invisible and hard-to-measure things in a world obsessed with data and demonstration. What we see on our screens often eclipses what we know in our hearts, when it is in our hearts that we find purpose and love. The labels we put on each other can keep us from building deep relationships, when it is through relationships that agreements are made and change happens. The metrics we use to claim progress in school or work can leave little room for earnest commitment to joy, when it is joy that fuels passion and creativity. There is a deeper Truth. A balance between the exterior and the interior that can reconnect us with passion, overcome division, and reveal true purpose. Form & Essence unpacks the code that causes us to value what is visible over what is vital, and teaches the reader to identify and practice deeper Truth.Form & Essence includes exclusive interviews with a wide range of incredible people from the current President of the Board of the Ford Foundation Dr. Francisco Cigarroa, to a founder of National Instruments Jeff Kodosky, Alamo Drafthouse Founder Tim League, Palliative Care Physician at a major research institution Laura Morrison, Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist and entrepreneur SaulPaul, major philanthropists like Morton Meyerson, one of the greatest classical guitarists of all time Pepe Romero, and many others.

This is a book of selected poetry and pastel drawings that came out of cards created during covid times. The idea came from "Literatura de Cordel" or literature on a string, a Brazilian tradition that included booklets of poetry and art work brought to the market place, hung on a string and read and sold to passers by. I made a card version and they became an offering to the community. Out of many appreciative viewers, this book was created. It includes most of the poems and art work of the cards, the last one made for the winter Solstice time, a fitting ending for this endeavor, a journey of thought and words and art that chronicled the times and seasons of the year.

I am sure you have heard two very different points of view of Artificial Intelligence and life on earth extinction. First, some very serious computer scientists are saying that AI is nothing more than just glorified typewriters. Yes, they can create some text files and pictures but they will never become self aware. After all, they were scaring us with the rise of the machines since the first Terminator movie in 1984. Some like Sara Connor were living in fear for 40 years and we cannot live in fear for another 40 years and stop scientific progress just because someone got scared that some chat-bot was asked if it needed human help and it answered that it can perform its job best without any human interference. Another group of scientists literally quit their six figures salary job in Google and Open AI and went to the public preaching to stop AI saying we are all going to die by the year 2030 and they want to be no part of mankind's demise. The arguments they provide are very serious, saying that those who learn computer science all their life now stop understanding what machines are doing and how they are doing it. They say it would not be possible to stop AI from destroying mankind because AI does not need to become self aware to destroy us.
