The Yale Russian Chorus (YRC) is a unique phenomenon-part singing group, part fraternity, part discussion group-that started in 1953 at Yale at the height of the Cold War, a time when exhibiting a strong interest in matters Russian and Soviet could be seen as suspect in the USA. It developed into a respectable tenor-bass chorus, which has participated in and won prizes at major international choral festivals. In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Chorus's founding, the YRC Alumni Association has published this new songbook, to document music that the Chorus has sung in the past and to provide a resource for the future. We hope that it will also prove useful for other singing groups that wish to incorporate this music into their repertoire.

Author Victoria Weaver grew up in a home where she witnessed constant drinking and fighting, and she heard cursing like she lived with sailors. This took place every weekend for years. She vowed to grow up, leave home, and put the childhood problems behind her. But that didn't happen, and Weaver experienced similar issues, similar feelings, and relationship patterns shortly after she moved out of that childhood family environment.In How Did I Get Here?, Weaver shares her story. She tells how, after being in this relationship for 20 years (10 years married) and being a dedicated wife and mother, her husband shot her. The incident took place just after a family cruise celebrating their son's high school graduation.In this memoir, Weaver narrates the series of events and the long road to recovery after the shooting. Emotional and heartfelt, she describes her feelings and emotions as she leaned on God and her family to help her through this difficult time.

"T&G" focuses on Ty and Gabriel. Ty was abused by his father. Gabriel was emotionally abused by his father. Wayne noticed Ty when he was sleeping in an alley. When Ty was 12 he woke up in a hotel room. A note said he was safe and everything was paid for. A year later, Gabriel came to the hotel. He received a note. A box was left outside the door. Gabriel used one of the cell phones to call the number given. Wayne said everything was being paid for and he would keep them safe. When they are 18, Ty and Gabriel still live in the hotel. Ty gets badly hurt protecting Nick (9). Nick's uncle Michael moves Ty and Gabriel into his house. Wayne continues watching over Ty and Gabriel.

This is a true story of the first ten years of my life in an old fashion small Midwestern town where no one locked their door, where children played unattented in the woods and creek. This creek eventually destroyed the village.There are early indictors that I would be gay and these are talked about, like playing with dolls, playing doctor with a naked boy. Bullying and name calling are also issues addressed.The story has a strong, positive ending to give hope to possible queer kids.
