As we move through our daily life, we experience moments of stillness leading us to contemplate the very purpose of this lifetime. A moment of shock or life-changing transition opens us to examine "Who am I really?" These moments come through crisis, disease, meditation, near-death events, dreams, medicinal plants, and or/spontaneous realizations. We open to a deep part of ourselves. The intensity, duration, and quality of these mystical states impact the transformation that subsequently occurs in daily life. The purpose of this transformational guidebook is toHelp you prepare for these profound life-changing experiences, Help you identify, understand, and integrate these experiences into your daily life, andInspire you and encourage you!
When my husband and I first moved in together, we struggled to find harmony. I am a 100% pure chaotic raccoon and he is retired military. So as you can imagine, he felt overwhelmed by my clutter and I felt disappointed not being able to live up to his standards of cleanliness. After one of our sillier fights, we sat down and decided we needed to figure this out because we love each other too much to give up. I would like to say I did better at picking things up...but honestly...he just got more open to accepting my mess. At the time, I was in law school and working two jobs. There were a lot of things that passed me by that should have mattered more...but I was already stretched thin. I remember telling my husband that I was afraid he would get tired of me and move on with his life. However, he showed me each day that he was planning to stick around. He would pack my lunch every morning before I left and in it I would find a sticky note. And I would respond with a note hidden around his things. For a full year, he wrote me a note each day...even on the weekends. This book is inspired by the gift he gave me-unconditional and limitless love. Don't let movies fool you. Love is not a grand gesture. Love is a sticky note repeated each day. It is a poem, a safe space, and constant work. Love is the decision to appreciate what you have and the willingness to expand who you are to create space for this other person. This book is to all those who have loved, are in love, and want to fall in love. It is to my husband-inspired by the nest of sticky notes I have accumulated from him.
Let us, you and I, have a conversation now about where you are on the path of spiritual awakening. Soften... open... breathe. Take this moment to join me on this exquisite journey. In a bold and yet vulnerable manner, Luminous reveals my personal spiritual journey as a student expressing the inner experiences that accompany specific meditation practices. This book contains 65 transformational tools, the results and feelings that come when they are diligently applied, and the significance of these step-by-step results on the greater path to your own Enlightenment. As part of my own training, I share the minefield of working with well-known teachers and how to apply their wisdoms and avoid their pitfalls. This book will guide you into greater understanding of the human nature of suffering, the conditions of childhood, and how these are traps of ego. As ego slips away through applying these tools, we naturally feel happiness, deep caring, and peace.Luminous is a paradigm shift from the usual Western approach to psychotherapy into viewing the reality of our human condition from the perspective of the Psychology of Enlightenment.
Some part of you knows you are brilliant. You may not believe it or understand it or even fully recognize it, but deep inside, you can feel it! And that's why we're here. We are here to bring that feeling-that little whisper of possibility-into glorious expression.Welcome to Spontaneous Brilliance, a specific and simple guide to help you notice and nurture the genius within yourself and all those around you. We're going to break through some long-held myths and misunderstandings and explore ways to:recognize and honor your own brilliancereignite your sense of playfulness and wonderthink, decide, and act with clarity and confidencestep to center stage in your own lifeshow the world the magnificent, unique, creative genius that is youIntroduction:Whether you believe it or not (frankly, whether anyone believes it or not), the fact is that everyone-and I do mean everyone-is brilliant. Each and every person on this planet is a unique creative genius in their own right. The problem with brilliance is not that some people have it and some people don't. The problem is that relatively few people live, learn, or work in the proper circumstances for that brilliance to be expressed. Simply put, there is no shortage of brilliance on this planet, just a reluctance to offer it and a resistance to accepting it. Let's be honest, when was the last time you looked at yourself in the mirror and knew that you were looking at a genius? When was the last time you looked around and believed that everyone you could see, regardless of their age, education, occupation, or limitation, was a uniquely brilliant, creative genius? If your answer is never, don't feel bad. Given what we think we know about genius, most people would agree with you.For instance, we believe that there are people who are brilliant and people who are not. We believe there are creative people and non-creative people. We believe that there are those with talent and those without. We believe that there are relatively few geniuses and a lot of non-geniuses. Somewhere along the line, we bought into this notion that the cosmic lottery favors some of us more than others. We have come to accept that the rare few brilliant, creative geniuses move to the forefront of life. They are the ones who make all of the discoveries and innovations that solve problems and fill needs for the rest of us, while we just exist in the background somewhere, providing the backdrop for their brilliance. And the good news is that we are wrong. The simple fact is that none of us belong in the background of someone else's life. We each belong in the foreground of our own life. We belong center stage! Each of us is a unique creative genius with a powerful purpose that we came here to share. Let me state that another way (in case you missed it the first time): You are a unique creative genius with a powerful purpose that you came here to share!
