The hole at the end of his penis seemed to have expanded to at least an inch wide and was still growing wider. 'Oh my God. It's full of stars.'

This memoir describes Paul Wokes's 51 years teaching in rural schools in Lincolnshire, England. Paul's determination to bring fresh experiences to his students starts with a chess club in the William Lovell School in Stickney. He follows this with a bridge club, then a badminton club, any of these being uncommon in such schools in the sixties. When his young proteges win chess tournaments, Paul knows this must open their minds to more than they could have imagined. "Please Sir, can I join your Chess Club?" provides a close-up of these journeys of discovery, challenges, overcoming, and losses. The students' stories will warm your heart, and sometimes sadden, but Paul never shies away from the truth. This book includes his attempt, at 80, to regain his 1965 World Chess Marathon record to stay awake and play chess for over 56 hours. In a Radio Lincolnshire interview, the interviewer commented, "Paul, you have a very unusual way of keeping yourself refreshed, instead of sleep." "Yes, leaving my body under control. Astral travel," Paul replied.

Can there be anyone intelligent who can doubt that, far from being the liberating event its proponents argued it was, Brexit is turning out to be the disaster that many (but, sadly, not enough) people expected it to be? Rather than leave it like that, in true academic fashion the author has left no stone unturned, no unconsidered trifle un-snapped up, in scrutinising the mass of data which may contain grains of good news about Brexit. Not for him the pointless shredding of reputations and shallow theorising of our pygmy politicians: this is a fact-based book which will enable the diligent reader to arrive at their own considered view of this momentous event. Alternatively, you may simply want to use the pages as a commonplace book; to write begging letters to mortgage lenders; to draft a letter to the Irish Passport Office in the vain hope that a distant Irish relative from a couple of centuries back may qualify you for EU citizenship; or even in extremis, as loo paper. That, to be fair, is all that the Johnson "oven-ready" Brexit deal was good for...
An individual commentary on the current situation in global politics, with potential solutions to major problems. This book explores serious global challenges that will soon affect us all and attempts to alleviate the concerns surrounding them. Although dark in places, it still leaves that glimmer of hope.
A team of eminent British scientists are closeted on Belleisle, off the remote Cornish coast, working on the Theory Of Everything - the quest to identify the mysterious factor that links together the fundamental forces governing the universe and effectively explains how it works. But although the isolated location may have the effect of concentrating the mind, the Grand Theory is proving elusive and their research is leading nowhere, causing tensions torise. Then one of them is murdered. Is the killer a religious fundamentalist, afraid of the implications of the project for faith? Does the crime have its origins in the jealousies and rivalries of academe? Or was the motive something different from either of those? One thing is clear, as DI Alec Monro, head of a special Scotland Yard unit which investigates high-profile crimes, soon discovers. Further lurid incidents suggest someone is prepared to stop at nothing to ensure the truth is never revealed...
'The Marconi Beam Wireless Stations of Somerset' is a history of the county's two main high-frequency point-to-point receiving stations located at Bridgwater and Somerton. The Bridgwater station was only active for around 15 years, whilst the Somerton station continued in its role in one form or another until 2000. Details of their 'sister' transmitting stations at Bodmin and Dorchester are also included, as well as a fascinating history of the Chedzoy Experimental Radiotelephone Station, near Bridgwater. An overview of the UK's Point-to-Point radio service is also featured to clarify the role played by the Somerset stations. Whilst modern technology has now superseded the international wireless network, the role of these stations cannot be underestimated, and it is right that their historical importance is recorded.

This world may have seen more change in the last 60 years than ever before, but is it a better place? When you see the technical advancements and the impossible that has been achieved, you might think so. But with all this meteoric progress, there has also been dramatic changes in people's attitudes and behaviours. So, has the human race really made progress? Has it done a "good job"? This book tries to answer some of those questions and asks WHY? Are we a better and nicer race or should we be ordering some pills and our slot in the queue for the Pearly Gates anytime soon?By taking a humorous observational perspective, Steve Bishop tries to answer some of the key questions. Steve explores the changes in human attitudes and behaviours of everyday life and what might be causing them. He covers a range of topics from working with wallys, through minding the dog poo when you go out in the street to our attitude in the trashing the environment we live in. When we used to have fun, what's all this new woke that is making our lives a misery? From a 40 year career in dealing with complex clients at a senior level, he quite clearly sees many of the issues, and asks WHY? do so many intelligent people fail to use their common sense? Although you may think that technology and the birth of the tele tubby are responsible, he questions the rationale behind many other things, where in reality the cause might actually be a problem with people?

Detective Inspector Ian Hutchinson was called from his office in Nottingham to investigate a suspected murder. The naked body of a man lay quietly in the bath. There was no water, just blood. It could have been a suicide but the DI knew instantly that it was murder. The body had too many cuts and stab wounds. Plus, there was no sign of a weapon. So, just another murder to solve. Nothing unique about it except for the mess. But, as the investigation progressed, clues were uncovered and everything changed. Each clue led to a new crime, each more complex and reprehensible than the last but each linked. It seemed that everything started with the body in the bath but, as more arrests were made, DI Hutchinson was still no nearer to finding the killer. What was he missing?
For her first book, Nicole J R Gilbert imagines the relationship between mother and daughter. My Awakened Soul is Tohon's concluding memoirs, summing up his life-long battles. He is winner in his outer world but the inner battles leave him wounded and defeated. One of the reviewers commented: I commend the author for baring his soul and sharing his inner torments. On the surface, such an internal struggle by a person who ticks all the boxes that define success in life appears counterintuitive. The book is deeply engrossing. Tohon's lifelong quest to understand and discover how all forms of life, including humans, fit into the infinitely large cosmic ecosystem is engaging. The readers will appreciate the author's honesty, integrity, and tenacity in probing into the philosophical and spiritual dimensions of our brief and puny lives.
Early activity in hydroelectricity is fairly comprehensively described in the first chapter. That is followed by six chapters which cover hydroelectricity generation on a country by country basis. There is a good deal of physical geography, for example the effects of sustained hydroelectricity production on river width. Carbon mitigation benefits of hydroelectricity generation are given their due place in the compilation and discussion. The author expects that the book will have appeal to experts, synthesising as it does information and data for hydroelectricity around the world over a period exceeding a century. It is also suitable for teaching both at Baccalaureate and Master's level, not least because the calculations are suitable for adaptation into studentexercises.

Mind Power in this context simply shows that circumstances emanate from perpetual thoughts. The book is a story about a Fulani community portraying a chain reaction of ITHC (Information, Thoughts, Habits and Circumstances). Information is the basis of thoughts, which will crystalize into habits, and the habits will surely solidify into circumstances. A noble man Buba Likitajo underwent trials. He waited long enough for a child, but never gave up on his aspirations. In the quest for his hope, he learned the principle of attraction, which he applied successfully. He understood that one could live forever if one really wanted. He embarked on that journey by mechanically uploading a gigabyte's worth of data into his wife's fetus. The baby was stuck with the correct information by targeting its sub-conscious mind. The resultant effect made the boy charming, humble, calm, smart, intelligent, and, above all, respectful. The boy grew up to be an unbeatable soul, truly much better than his father in his own way. The man, Ahmadu, decided to improve upon what his father did in order to produce a desired future generation through the principle of mind power He uploaded petabytes of data into the perfect machine, PULEL, via a psychotronic vibe upload process. The story showed how simple it is to teach someone something by focusing on their subconscious mind. It also showed how to attract what one really wants in life, how mentorship works, and how good thought attracts good circumstances. Buba Likitajo, a medical practitioner, lived by Hippocratic values, and that made him awesome to the public. His son Ahmadu followed his passion and made his own way in stick fighting, which got him an elegant wife and made him the first King of the Sticks in Kulumje village. He did this by using the mind power technique. With the right application of mind power, you will surely live the type of life you desire.
