Feelings welled up like an overflow of my being. It was born as an expressive vehicle to bring out an outpouring of emotions faced with the need to escape pain and overcome a difficult stage, in search of the light at the end of the tunnel. For this reason, more than anything, this book exhibits and empties on a paper my appreciations, my feelings, and my perspectives on various subjects that concern the heart like nostalgia, impotence, and fear but, above all, the desire to return love and gratitude to each of the people who have impacted my life. So the poems experience traits and moments of the family. And a vivid tribute is felt to the absent husband and to the beautiful experience of a true marriage, which was consolidated with the precious fruit of his son.Feelings invites you to know and share who I am. But essentially, its contents send a hopeful message: Sometimes real-life situations such as the loss of a loved one can polish in you a talent that you do not know. They can fill you spiritually and make you grow for a living purpose just as God worked to reclaim and mature another person in me.
Sentimientosinvita a conocer y a compartir quin soy.

Though times are changing, it wasn't that long ago that people who were considered 'different' were shunned by most. Anyone who's own adjectives fall under weird, different, unique, strange, to name a few of a long list of synonyms, long to feel normal. Marilyn is the only person that I ever met that could see past our 'differentnesses'. She saw 'who' each and everyone was and treated everyone as normal human beings. Having an uncanny ability to make people feel special about themselves, she would draw people from all walks of life, to her. Everyone wanted her to be their Pied Piper and she did so, graciously.Though everyone was perplexed, including myself, as to why she chose me as her husband, I was greatly honored that she did so. For 12 years I had a true Angel at my side and, though I am saddened by her passing, I am also saddened that so many missed out on being touched by her.Sharing my life with her is my way of sharing her with the world. Then we can all morn the loss of her together.

What would you do if you were me? A testimony of survival in prison is side-splittingly funny, moves at a pace that absorbs the hours without your noticing, and goes down like pink cotton candy. This book will introduce you to the challenging and not-widely-known world of incarceration in the Illinois Department of Corrections where Mr. Raylan Gilford, inmate number B-66509, has earned his PhD in prison psychology after twenty-six years of imprisonment.Mr. Gilford moves from street vernacular and prison lingo to acute philosophy without blinking an eye. In the process of reading this literary Steve Harvey, you will become savvy in prison slang and grow acquainted with the five jailhouse archetypes distilled from over one thousand cellmates that Mr. Gilford has spent time with in a seven-by-ten-foot chamber outfitted with nothing but bunk beds, shared sink, and toilet wide open to any eyes passing by.Do you have the forbearance to transform a life spent mostly inside a pantry-sized enclosure with individuals who are not the best company, engage, in rich intellectual pursuits, and provide wise counsel for the next generation coming up?Mr. Gilford was convicted of murder and concealment of a homicide at the tender age of eighteen and has been incarcerated ever since, which means that he has had to learn to be an adult in a challenging situation. And his carceral wisdom will attest to that fact. This story will make you laugh, and it may make you cry. It will certainly fill you with respect for the knowledge gained through great effort in a setting that does not readily encourage the human spirit. It contains information essential for young men and women who may be at risk for prison time and who will learn from Mr. Gilford that this is not an experience that they want to have. This book is a good incentive for young people who are struggling to make their way into adulthood and who need to look closer at all the options available to them and be sure they do not end up in prison. Be part of convincing them to find a different path.

Life throws each of us curves, and there are times these curves can damage us for life. Some curves stem out of our childhood, siblings, and so-called friends. There are so much envy, jealousy, and hatred among those who smile in our faces day to day. There comes a time when we have to say enough is enough, no more feeling sorry for ourselves, no more regrets, no more comparison with others, and no more allowing people taking charge over us. We must not let our past rule us. We must not let rejection hinder us from trusting, loving, and forgiving. We must show kindness, compassion, and love; and we must open our hearts to receive kindness, compassion, and love. Why continue to go through life in denial putting up a mask over our hearts and minds? We must see ourselves as special, unique, appreciated, and loving. Let the queen and king in you shine. Allow yourself to love and be loved. Always put an effort to be the best version of yourself first to yourself and let that flow out to others. These writings are not just for encouragement to you; they are also for reflection of how you can start renewing your mind and opening your heart to the real you. Just because you failed before doesn't mean you must stop trying. Change is inevitable in life. Some people handle change in a positive manner, and some do not. In order to have change in a positive manner, we first have to change our thinking. We must be willing and teachable and adapt to be big and better. When we choose to fight change, we are not willing to see the big picture for something better. Change for some takes time to equate their thinking, actions, and perception. When we are set in our ways, we tend to be stubborn and suspicious of authority of people and new ideas. Change sometimes makes people feel like it is an attack on their ability or performance. They are unable to adapt to constructive criticism which is not the case in the majority of the time. When there is a new administration, there will be changes with new ideas on the operation, duties, and opportunities. When there is a new person in our lives, we tend to immediately think that they have hidden motives rather than accept that they bring a positive change that we have not seen before. The wrong perception can hinder us from seeing the positive change that they bring to our lives. Adapting to change is up to you. Ask yourself, "What do you want? What do you want to accomplish?" These are questions only you can answer. Be honest with your answer and then put your all into adapting to making your life better. If there are areas in your life you need to change, start making those changes. The question are, "How do you handle change?" Do you handle it with anticipation for a new beginning or with dread? What perception are you bringing forth? What attitude are you displaying?
The City of Brotherly Love is an unforgiving place for a hungry eight year old living on the streets. For Jack 'Bojack' Salterelli it was the training ground for the future life as a stick up man, a hardened convict by twenty-one, enforcer, and meth kingpin. After decades in 'the life' Bojack would turn his life around by going undercover for the F.B.I. However, what he thought was the road to redemption ended as another double cross leaving his fate , once again, to the only person he could trust, himself.
My Two Cents is a book I started over a decade ago while deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, during the days and nights I could not sleep. I was experiencing so much turmoil, and this book is a direct reflection of ideas and opinions from a man's perspective (from my heart) of what is necessary to be said or done within a relationship. These opinions are solely based on my experiences over my lifetime, which, as a result, shed light on the possibilities of sustaining growth, maturity, love, and support throughout friendship or a relationship. The chapters currently written do not cover everything, but it is a synopsis of the many attributes, values, and morals that are needed to be considered to defeat divorce or breakups. Furthermore, this book is filled with relatable content to help readers understand the importance of being who you are as well as accepting others as themselves. In order to grow and not hide behind a mask, one must unmask their true identity and live their truth.
