Conducting mechanized cavalry scouting missions on the West German border during the Cold War was no small feat for Staff Sergeant Sean Kegler and the crew of his M60A3 tank nicknamed "Hulk." His storied 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment sat proudly affixed at the tip of NATO's spear as it planned for the challenging Return of Forces to Germany exercise to demonstrate further the West's resolve to protect Europe. But Sean had more than the coming exercise on his mind during that miserable cold winter of 1985. First, there was Anna von Stauffenberg, his vivacious German fiancé, followed closely by the ever-present ruminations of the grandfather he had never known, prematurely taken in the prime of his life during the bitter Battle of the Bulge fighting in January 1945. As a boy, Sean would have given anything to have been able to grow up with more than mere second-hand stories of his Grandpa Paul. More so, he longed to hear his grandfather reminisce about his glorious conquests across Europe with the 2nd Mechanized Cavalry Group as it sparred with Hitler's vaunted Wehrmacht. Unknown to Sean and his young crew, a bizarre occurrence would lead to a surreal intersection of events that would ultimately alter his grandfather's future as well as that of his crew.

Author and fellow Christian Wayne Detzler understands: These days, it can be difficult to focus on our faith. Yet these days, we don't need our faith any less than before-we may need it even more. But are you struggling to make time and find the energy to read a long devotional book or even a lengthy passage of the Bible? You're not alone-life can be overscheduled and exhausting, leaving little time for reading and spiritual contemplation. That's why Detzler wrote The Bible Key to Successful Living: A New Look at the Exchanged Life.Drawing on his experience as a professor and pastor, both of which require holding the attention of busy audiences, Detzler wrote a short little book of encouragement for Christians. Beautifully designed and easy to read, the Scriptures and testimonies within help readers feel the Lord's goodness and love. Jesus just wants us to call out something like this: "Jesus, I need you. Brush away all the static and confusion of my past failures and sins. Enter my life and make me new." The Bible Key to Successful Living will help you find your own words to do that.

Oscar's Treasure is a story of real-world conflicts that occurred in Texas and numerous other Western states in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The land had been cleared of bison, and Indians had been removed to reservations. It appeared that nothing could stand in the way of newly formed ranches and farms. However, there were problems. Rustlers. Incompetent and corrupt local law officers. Ranchers were forced to protect themselves. However, they did not really know how to do so. They formed alliances that often themselves became corrupt. Oscar's Treasure is the story of one such corrupt alliance: the Norwood Mob. Many people died in the conflict between the Mob and local ranchers, a criminal organization that local ranchers could not defeat. Maybe the Texas Rangers could.

As we move deeper into the 21st century, some of the most fascinating stories that held together a younger United States are being lost to time. In Weekends with Arlie, Robert Maninger and Arlie himself save-and share-one of those stories.Arlie Linn Mathews grew up in the Dust Bowl of the Oklahoma panhandle. He rode the range as a cowboy in 1930s Colorado and then served in the Navy during World War II. And that was just his first couple decades of life. Over his 102 years, he saw his family, his country, and the world change in leaps never before experienced-knowing both travel by horse and travel to space, mail that took weeks and texts that took no time at all, an old-fashioned existence and a society now that is barely in the present and instead ever hurtling toward the future. Drawing on his experience writing researched academic articles and several books, including two other family histories, Maninger uses his keen eye to draw out and weave together Arlie's life story. Specific to Arlie and his family but universal to so many Americans, Weekends with Arlie will interest anyone wanting to know more about American history.

What is the probability you'll finish reading a long, perhaps tedious, book on probability? And if you do, what's the probability you'll retain much of that information? From experience, math tutor and teacher Y. Mathew knows the answer is pretty low. That's why she wrote An Introduction to Probability: A Concise Exploration of Core Concepts. This text, slim and accessible, is perfect for readers of all ages and levels curious about and interested in understanding the basic concepts of Probability.Instead of throwing readers into complex theory, Mathew slowly guides readers into the shallows of Probability and moves them deftly into a rich understanding of probability ratios, the Counting Principle, Factorials, Permutations and their associated sample spaces. She has written a math book using metaphors and fresh, clever examples to present Probability in a way that moves the subject out of its usual math box.An Introduction to Probability A Concise Exploration of Core Concepts takes the reader through the primary impulses motivating Probability to understanding how we can predict a single outcome for an event or predict a compound outcome for an event; predict a sequence outcomes, or order of outcomes for an event-and does so in a way that readers can pick up, put down, think about, and return to as time and interest allow.

This collection is my second book to be self-published but in reality, it's my fifteenth manuscript of original poetry. I first started writing poetry in my junior high school calligraphy class. I loved that class and the teacher who taught it. He was one of those cool teachers all the kids liked, and he played rock-n-roll records on his fold-up phonograph player during the class. Like music, writing became an outlet for me and became a friend. It helped me get through the fearful adolescent years as well as the horrible, angry, drunken years that nearly killed me. This collection covers the period in my life after my second divorce and the end of my first period of sobriety. I was fortunate enough to have some awesome experiences playing music with some wonderful musicians, but being in the bars also opened the door for alcohol to became a problem again. I became an internet serial dater, trying to make up for lost time. I was seeking another soul mate while also trying to grow up all over again. I frequently wrote opinion letters to our local newspaper and many of them were published and are another collection I'd like to publish someday. I love writing about societies problems and have an aspiration to make the world a better place, one idea at a time. I know my poetry is not that brilliant. I know technically, it would never win any contest. But there's something inside of me that wants me to do this. It's part of who I am, and this collection is part of my story. It's also one of those things that if I don't finish it, I'll regret it forever. Like many people, the last few years have been very tough. I want to personally thank all my friends who have been there for me and supported my writing. There's much more to do and write, so I hope you enjoy this collection and I'll stay busy putting my next compilation together. God bless us all.

"I am the way and the truth and the life." (John 14:6) Relativism, secularism, sectarianism, wokeness, political correctness, increased hostility towards Christian values and the Church, desertion by the flock-does anyone else feel like we have become strangers in a strange land? Our world has gone bonkers! Today, we live in a society that has forgotten God, and being separated from him, the results are evident: Increasing restlessness, selfishness, depression, despair, hopelessness, and nihilism. This is not the life God desires for us. If we find ourselves lost or separated from the Source of Life, we need to find our way back. But how? Jesus told us: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." It's time to reexamine how to attain the abundant life that Jesus promised us: Happiness and fulfillment in this life and the life to come. We do not need to overthink it. We just need to return to the principles of our faith-the right faith being a living relationship with the ever-living God. "Oh, Christian who has gotten drunk on love of the world! Sober up, while there is still time, and look for the heavenly blessings that God promised to those who love him, lest you seek them later, but do not receive them." (St. Tikhon of Zadonsk)
