When you least expect it, a visual experience will overcome you, challenging you to slow down, open your eyes, and feel the quiet power of Nature. It will take your breath away, it will bring tears to your eyes, you will feel humbled and grateful. These are moments of natural beauty, generously handed down from above.William Marvin has been observing and appreciating these gifts since he was a child. He calls them Grace Notes. They are personal reflections on the special moments he was fortunate to see. They are written in a revealing manner that invites you to enter into his world, his vision, captured in small, impressionistic oil painting sketches. His shadow on these rambles along the backroads of our country is a big, black lab, always ready for adventure, capable of providing protection and companionship around the campfire. Join them and experience the freedom and wonder they have found in hidden, often forgotten places; the North woods of Upper Michigan, the Midwest prairie, the low country of the South and along the rugged coast of Maine. Experiencing the grace of God's gifts is a privilege and one he is compelled to share.

"My Life in the (not so) Fast Lane" is a folksy and humorous memoir from a native of a nondescript part of rural Texas who, although a very mediocre athlete himself, became a successful high school and small college basketball coach in a state dominated by football coach/athletic directors, one who fired him for winning too many "thump-thump" games. The author also tells of his controversial days as a member of probably the most dysfunctional body in Texas history, the Texas State Board of Education, and how he became a member of this infamous body with the help of one of his former basketball players and members of the George W. Bush Presidential Campaign team headed by Karl Rove. Finally, the author ends his story with an account of how he succeeded in his efforts to remove a historical marker at an African American cemetery that falsely depicted his great grandfather as a slave owner in Texas after slavery had ended in the state.

In this latest, hilarious installment of the Moon Series, A MAJOR PRODUCTION!, Moon finds himself back in Los Angeles and forced to take another whack at the whackos in one breakneck case of WEBIT? after another—Where Else But in Tinseltown? This is classic Sawyer suspense, dialogue, humor, and cinematic prose. With A MAJOR PRODUCTION!, Sawyer takes his rightful place among the master-of-suspense giants.” —Andrew McAleer, author of the 101 Habits of Highly Successful Novelists and co-editor of Coast to Coast: Private Eyes from Sea to Shining SeaManhattan P.I. A simple fraud matter. Except – wouldn’tcha know? Barney quickly finds himself in the middle of several serious, whacko, very dangerous cases of WEBIT? (Where Else But In Tinseltown?).In A MAJOR PRODUCTION!, New York Private-eye Barney Moon’s latest reluctant-but-thankfully-very brief journey to his least-favorite city in the World quickly becomes complicated – and terrifyingly, uniquely extended. For starters, there’s the pair of massively, desperately bored Homeland Security Agents who see a way out via Hollywood Success (almost their only areas of agreement), plus a crooked talent agent, an obsessed/ambitious ADA, an ineptly-planned, fake-terrorist plot – based on a stolen screenplay – to attack Los Angeles, harried LAPD Homicide Detectives, their already overflowing plates made maddeningly worse by Barney’s latest intrusion(s) onto their turf – until he unexpectedly and weirdly makes them look like heroes, the murder on Sunset Boulevard of a mob boss’s actress-wife, wannabes with outsized Movieland Dreams – and for Barney, a ticking clock – its deadline: his life. With smart, gorgeous Melodie Seaver at the wheel – and on his case – Barney Moon, with his customary wit, tenacity, ingenuity, and hilarious attitudes about-and-reactions-to LA, manages to clean up all of it – in ways not possible or even thinkable anywhere else – barely in time to rescue himself from execution by the mob – before making his narrow escape back to Civilization (aka New York City).Well-l-l, almost…

These are stories of events in a fictitious university community in the Rocky Mountain foothills. They are loosely woven about the life of a ''Model University Professor'', environmental scientist Paul Mandryka, affectionately known simply as Prof by students and friends. Fellow faculty member, Jedediah Williams, has chosen him for the ''professor I would have liked to have become'', and has asked for descriptive contributions from other faculty members, students, and friends. Immersed in these chronicles is a continuing concern of Mandryka''s that he lacks the suitability to be a loving mate for a desirable woman. Numerous contributions from Prof''s environmental liaison assistant, Chris Baldwin, describe a variety of events in university community life, frequently humorous, sometimes provocative. Prof has become concerned with the public misinformation about climate change. He has become increasingly active in communicating the science facts and warning of the danger to future generations. Finally, we find the potential for Chris to become an influential participant in constructive solutions to the human-caused climate change that threatens to become the most damaging environmental problem in human history.
