  • - The Heart of the Matter
    av Smith Antonette Smith
    150,-

Behind the Scenes-The Heart of the Matter volume 4 (God Cleansing My Insides, Me Facing Truth about Myself) is just what this book is about. The Lord began to do a deep cleansing of my insides, the inward sins that was killing me. The inward hatred and unforgiveness that was fueling my bad behavior. The issues that made my spirit sick and flesh weak. And when He began to do His work in me, I had to face the real truth about myself-that I was no good for anything or anyone. I appeared to be very happy, nice, and helpful but I knew everything I said, did, or thought was distorted. My motives were all clouded and wrong. They all were coming from a place of falseness, it wasn't real because I wasn't real. I was detached emotionally and physically from everything and everyone. You can be making and having babies, married, working, and helping people, while being detached from it all. Read how the Lord Jesus cleansed me from my sins, washed me from my iniquities, blotted out all my transgressions, purged me with hyssop, and created in me a clean heart and right spirit that I might know truth in my inward parts and wisdom in my hidden parts."Thank, thank God for you. Be encouraged, you are going a great work, mighty woman of God. Bless you." -Rev. Charles Caston Sr. Brookhaven, Mississippi "Powerful writing, God has really done something great in you. How, when, do you find the time to write and in detail of every account? I am very proud of you." -Rev. Amos Bridges Monticello, Mississippi "Sometimes the best story you can tell is yours. You never know what a person is going through or been through. Keep doing what God has called you to do. Don't let no one stop you. I am very proud of you and no matter where God take you, you are always my member first. I love you." -Rev. Wyatt Lewis Hazlehurst, Mississippi

  • - Values and Beliefs
    av Paul Frank Beisbier
    457,-

The work that is about to be surveyed by the reader represents decades of painstaking work to provide him or her with the most positive and freshest perspective with respect to what the discipline of history teaches him or her to improve the quality of not only his or her daily life but also those of all other whom he or she comes into contact with. This task is accomplished when he or she becomes aware of the fact that the greatest possible good can only be achieved through the promotion of the adequate satisfaction of the greatest number of needs of the maximum number of people within the context of its being mutually beneficial to all parties involved.Furthermore, the reader of this volume gains the widest perspective on how the above assertion is valid for and has a positive impact on all fields of human endeavor, individual human lives, and human institutions, since the content of historical subject matter consists of nothing less than the past and present record of all the events and developments of the above entities. Thus, since everything that people learn is through past and present experiences, history teaches them everything and nothing can be perceived outside the framework of its subject matter. To present a graphic example to the reader of this volume to clearly illustrate the truth and validity of the above points, the author has used the comparison and contrast of the values, beliefs, and cultures of two very different societies in variant times and places to do so. The retrograde valuing of power and wealth placed on them by a small elite in European medieval society, resulting in limited social mobility in a primarily agrarian society, is in marked contrast to the emphasis on limited individual freedom within the framework of the rule of law as espoused by modern America. Within the latter framework, it was possible to develop a modern industrial and postindustrial community to provide individual social advancement through educational and employment opportunities as well as through the availability of quality health care. Finally, through all that has been stated above, it is worthwhile for society at large as well as the academic community to peruse through the contents of this volume in order to accomplish the above objectives.

One whose mind is intrigued with tales of the unusual will discover them once their imagination steps through the archway leading to the 'Land of 'Philantasy'. Sculptured onto the obelisks are the titles of eight short stories, a novella and a ditty. These are not the run of the mill (so to speak) type of stories. They are what I call 'Philantasy', a coined word. They are all a touch of philosophy with the imagination of fantasy, so welcome to the Land of Philantasy.

I am one of many people who has survived child abuse and not become an abuser or use it as an excuse for my behavior. I waited this story to come out to let other people like me to know that they are not the only out there. They are not alone; and for the ones who do turn into an abuser and killers and use the excuse that "I am this way because I was abused as a child," that is wrong. I am here to tell you that the chains can be broken. I did it, and so has other people. It's not easy, but it can be done.

The name of this book, Of God and Pterodactyls, is meant to philosophically explain in my own words how science and theology can be merged and tied together as one unified thought process, softening the stark, harsh disparity between evolution and creation.

To combat the epidemic of weight gain, improve cardiovascular health, increase longevity while enhancing our quality of life, it is important to develop strategies that facilitate habitual physical activity. Preventing obesity in collaboration with communities, schools, work sites, and health care professionals is the key. Through the process of coloring and reading, the understanding of food and how our bodies form fats is further illuminated. We emphasize the role of exercise as a fundamental part of staying fit and healthy. The current consensus is that three core exercises are essential: aerobic, strength building, and ¿exibility training. It is undisputed that diet and exercise promote good health, productivity, and longevity. Now is the time to start. Meta-analysis, based on various types of exercise, have identified exercises that appear necessary for optimal health, especially for the increasing number of employees in sedentary, computer-based jobs. For example, simply try using "light movement," about once per hour, to stimulate the lymphatic system and increase blood ¿ow to the legs. Simply flex the toes and move your calves up and down. Then stand up and sit down without arm support, five to ten times, repeatedly. Follow up with deep breathing. Just ensure that the lungs are filled up completely. Then expand the stomach also to capacity. Let the air out normally and without pressure. To good health! Picture here of good health

  • - The Struggle for Knoxville and East Tennessee

    292,-

Two opposing generals and the people of East Tennessee met in the fall of 1863. For James Longstreet, the commander of the Confederate forces, the campaign for Knoxville and East Tennessee marked the nadir of his military career, which climaxed in December 1863, with him submitting a letter of resignation as commander of the First Corps of the Army of Northern Virginia. For Ambrose Burnside, commander of the Federal forces, the campaign demonstrated his leadership and tactical ability following his December 1862 debacle as commander of the Army of the Potomac at the Battle of Fredericksburg, Virginia. For the region of East Tennessee and Knoxville, the campaign enabled the people to reach the pinnacle they had aspired to since their settlement of the region. They had escaped economic and religious oppression in Europe, negotiated and fought with the Cherokee Indian Nation, created the State of Franklin (which was denied statehood), saw its political power vanish to Middle Tennessee, and was limited in its economic development by the region's landscape.

Throughout our country's existence there have been those who didn't approve of our form of government. Those with other ideologies have tried to influence our governance since the beginning of our nation. Only one has succeeded on a grand scale: Throughout the twentieth century, and continuing today, a long-term plan to replace our Capitalist society has been in place and is incrementally growing stronger. By infiltrating every aspect of American interaction, as documented in the book, our enemy continues to garner more and more support of the people. You won't want to believe what you read. Many in Washington are happy about that, and most, not all public figures are reluctant to call it what it is. You need this info to decide for yourself.By promoting discontent where there was none, they have divided our nation by socioeconomics, race, ethnicity, religion, and politics. There are exaggerated issues of racism, the rich and the poor, business vs. the working class, climate change, entitlements vs. hard work, Socialism vs. Capitalism, and Conservatism vs. Liberalism. All these deceitful distractions are productive tools of our enemy that divert our attention from the master plan to fully install a new form of government that gives full control of our lives to the government. Most Americans, as well as most politicians, are too distracted by the minutiae mentioned above to see the big picture that this book details. There are no longer enough people who understand or are willing to defend the Constitution that enabled US to become the greatest nation in history while it was strictly interpreted. I fear it is too late to reverse the process now.URGENT UPDATE- email christiansoldiersofamerica@gmail.com for a free Bonus Chapter.

  • - Jews Guarding Nazi POWS Held in the United States
    av Dr Michael Greenberg
    333,-

As the systematic murder of six million Jews by Nazi Germany and its collaborators was taking place, Jewish soldiers in the United States Army participated in guarding, healing, and reeducating of some of the four hundred thousand German prisoners of war (PW) held in camps scattered across the United States. History has paid little attention to the participation of Jewish GIs at these camps and the role they played in preparing PWs to return and participate in a postwar democratic Germany. Very little is known about the experiences of these Jewish soldiers that prepared them to go face-to-face with German PWs, some of which were hardened Nazi party members. In addition, little is known about how the tour of duty in these camps affected the GIs' postwar lives. It was fifty years after the German PWs returned home that I found an unexpected gift my late parents left me that became a portal to discover stories of individual Jewish men whose deeds should inspire future generations on confronting anti-Semitism and racism. These men did not feel sorry for themselves being assigned to PW camps, did not request transfers, and embraced the change and focused on the things they could control. They viewed their roles not as custodians or babysitters of prisoners but as role models of Jewish men who were fit, trim, educated, held rank, and wanted to do more than just "ride out the war" in the zone of the interior. Their stories are about affecting positive change in the PWs' thinking and behaviors. Their mission of tikkun olam-"repair of the world¬"-is the subject of this book. How, where, and when they started and completed this mission is unique to each Jewish GI despite them having common basic training in Jewish upbringing and values. It is hoped that this book will inspire other Jewish soldiers who served at PW camps or their family members knowledgeable about their service to step forward and share their experiences. This could lead to a future updated edition of this book.

He played imaginary name games while on the road and sometimes with other people if their name fit the schtick. Peculiar in other ways (never used ice, only drank Dr. Pepper), he was as quiet and ordinary as the neighbor next door. Yet he was a serial killer. Father, Forgive Me, for I Have Sinned has a few subthemes: addiction, confession and absolution, and sexual abuse in the church. Any of the five main male characters could be the killer, one who strangles young ladies, mostly in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Bible verses from the Psalms left at or near the scene of each murder offered few leads as to the perp or his motive. Theologians in New Orleans gave their opinions but were as stumped as law enforcement, unable to clearly profile the man. When local and regional police got close to identifying and apprehending him, the Gulf South Strangler moved to Carolina and Tennessee with the string of deaths following. Some serial killers are never found. Unlike the infamous serial killers of history, these deaths included no sexual or other physical abuse of the body. Funny how the simplest of rude childhood behaviors could change a man into a monster.

    av J L Verita
    195

Worn Like a Badge is the best way to describe my ownership of my daughters'' diagnosis with autism. It illustrates my desperate need to embrace and accept this truth, which hopefully would prepare me for the battle ahead. Keeping this a secret, pretending this was not as bad as it was, was not an option for the girls or for me. There was no time for fear or shame. I needed to be free from the weight of this disease in order to attack it with all my will.I wish I had this book when the girls were diagnosed. It may have hastened my transformation from victim to victor. It is a must read for anyone who has or is caring for a child with a disability. I hope that it proves as helpful to the reader as it has been to the writer.

  • - Science Finds Jesus

What skeptical scientists did discover actually validates the beliefs of Christians. And what they could not explain also added even more support for Christian faith. The historical accounts, eyewitness testimonies, and miraculous artifacts provide overwhelming proof that something supernatural and heavenly is in contact with mankind.Join John Carpenter, a psychiatric therapist, on his logical investigation into the divine realm of miraculous evidence through the startled eyes of disbelieving medical and scientific researchers. The amazing conclusions from their professional examinations suggest that Jesus Christ must truly be alive and impacting our lives today. This is a story about trust. The importance of it, how quickly it can be destroyed, and how difficult it can sometimes be to rebuild. Edward thought his twenty-five-year marriage to Carolyn was solid, as did Helen after her thirty years with George. It took but an instant for each to discover just how mistaken they were. Edward met Helen when she asked for his help to stop George's attempt to force his way back into her house and her life. Although neither of them was looking for romance, they developed a strong friendship and slowly regained the ability to trust again. As close as they were, each was afraid to admit to their innermost dreams of love, lest the other didn't share their feelings. Were it not for a couple of very determined friends, they could very well have spent the remainder of their lives as the friends they professed to be, each living out their life in fear of saying the wrong thing and possibly ruining the relationship they had.
