Paul took one more look at the door, shrugged, then closed it and walked away.Jessica let out a huge sigh of relief. She had never been so scared in her life. She knew if Paul had found her, it would be all over for her. Her legs felt weak. She slowly slid down the wall and sat on the floor. She was shaking so badly she had to take a couple of deep breaths before she could even move to push herself back to a standing position. She wasn't sure she would even be able to walk without holding on to something. She waited until she was sure she could open the closet door and walk out of the house without making any noise.

Welcome to Rikers Island and Bellevue Hospital Prison ward for the criminally insane where all problems can be solved with a certain degree of violence. As a Jailhouse Therapist for over thirty years, I have seen and experienced firsthand violence that the average civilian cannot even imagine. It is a catastrophic assault on the human psyche which boggles the mind. I am leery of my surroundings when locked down with forty-seven criminally insane individuals, but I am not fearful. Maybe I’m stupid, and I don’t know it. I have learned to listen, respect, and look these individuals straight in their eyes with no fear. These individuals cherish respect above anything else. Money, women, and drugs are abstract compared to the concept of respect. Come visit Rikers Island and Bellevue’s Forensic Unit and see for yourself with the jailhouse therapist how these psychotic individuals function as they face twenty-five years or a life sentence for murdering their parents, kidnapping, robbing banks, or being stick-up artists and gang bangers. Walk through this New York City county jail in Jailhouse Therapist.

In the spring of 1562, a young man's life was about to change forever. While standing on a dune staring out over the rolling sea along the east coast of what would one day be called Florida, an amazing and frightening sight caught his eye. A sailing ship! A shiver of terror ran through his body. He had heard the stories. It was the Little People from the Sun. Accounts of the horrible things that they had done to his village years before he was born had been told and retold around the council fires for as long as he could remember. He had always thought they were just stories told to frighten children. Now he could see that they were real. His thoughts went to Cato, the girl that he had come so far to marry. He turned and ran down the hard-packed beach toward her village. He must reach her before they did. Something evil was coming, and he had to take her out of harm's way before it was too late.

Hustling Against the Odds-the book and title was inspired by a national bestseller I read given to me by my father, a book he read while in prison called Succeeding Against the Odds, which is an autobiography by John H. Johnson, who was an American businessman. John H. Johnson was a black man who succeeded going against the odds a black man commonly faces in the American society. My book goes into the odds I faced as a black man in that same society, making the accomplishments I have this far in life but from a different, more unique prospective. My book is a tell-all about my journey in life thus far and highlights the truth about the American society as it relates to every black person.

Thank you for your time and curiosity. The Real Deal Is Love is a collection of my thoughts and feelings at times in my life, happy, sad and unpredictable that I just had to write down. The first twenty-five are love poems, and these come from some real things that happened to me and some that happened from people and friends around me. The next twenty-five are of life in general, things that I see and do, things that I just can’t believe and things that are so funny I just had to tell somebody. Believe it or not. The Real Deal Is Love will be a series with several more coming your way. I do hope you enjoy the way that I have expressed my thoughts and feelings in a poetic style. If you do, then keep your eyes open for The Real Deal Is Life as I See It. That will be the next book coming out.Sincerely yours, Don Bosch

Conventional psychology has made very little progress in treating mental disorders. Sigmund Freud showed us the vast depth of the subconscious; however, he and his successors had little success in actually curing disorders. Currently, the mainstay of psychiatric therapy is through medications, which broadly and relatively indiscriminately numbs the brain, with many unintended side effects. The main motivation for this book was the incredible effectiveness of the techniques we’ve developed in treating various mental disorders including depression, anxiety, neurosis, insomnia, etc. Our motivation also is due to many of our patients who urged us to use this medium to spread our techniques quickly so many more people may benefit from it. The success rate has been incredible, with certain disorders reaching a 100 percent cure rate. Our techniques were founded through years of treating real patients and the feedback we received during this process. From this, we discovered a deeper understanding of how the mind functions and hence how to influence it in any desired direction. Many people were cured of various mental disorders using the techniques in this book. Many of their testimonials are included in this book.

Presented in My Journey through Ink and Paint is the mind of a pensive wanderer who journeys through a world of colors. This work depicts abstract art in a stylish evolution of colors through contrasting, blending, or complementing one color with another juxtaposed on it. The color movement is like a flow chart of events created by nature during a rainbow formed by the sun and raindrops. This technique can be seen in The Wilderness Mind, Eleganza, and others in the book. My Journey through Ink and Paint is a compilation of abstract art drawn over the years through enjoyable and sad moments. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” so it is said. Christopher, for simplicity’s sake, described most of his abstract art in the book, and left some for others to describe according to how they view each image. Like in the well-known phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words,” the viewers can always have varied opinions about a particular piece of art. The driving forces that influenced Christopher into a continuous habit of drawing abstract art can be found in the motivational notes within his book.

Based on the life experience of Benjamin Lane and written as an autobiographical novel, He'enalu Days tells the spiritual journey of Dennis Hill, a wild-child surfer growing up in Kai Town, Honolulu, in the early 1980's, who walks into a life of drugs and parties. As a boy, Dennis falls in love with the ocean and the sport of surfing and feels that to he'enalu (surf or slide across a breaking wave) sets him free like nothing else can. Twenty years later, Dennis realizes his brokenness as a human being and cries out to God to save him.  A war over his soul emerges, and Dennis discovers the physical realm we all live in reflects a coexisting spiritual realm that we cannot see, a spiritual realm that wields the power to overwhelm the physical realm in an instant. When no person can save him or ease his pain, Dennis discovers that Jesus Christ - the way and the truth and the life - is the only one who can set him free, and that eternity is too long to be wrong.  These are his new He'enalu Days.

This book provides a different perspective on the Vietnam conflict. Journey to South Vietnam is a story of real life events, including my career in the military services—the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the United States Air Force (USAF). These compelling and life-altering experiences seemed to defy the imagination. I was also searching for my god.I volunteered for South Vietnam when the United States was in turmoil and the military was not respected by the media or the American public. I worked behind the lines at Da Nang Air Base and not in the field where the action occurred, but still, a bounty was placed on my head for $10,000.While serving in the Marine Corps, I was transferred to the Caribbean Sea, in an operation during the Dominican Republic crisis, CARIB 4-65. During that time, my friends and fellow marines were being killed on a mountain known as Monkey Mountain, or Hill 621.This hill is situated south of the Son Tra Mountain Range. It overlooks Da Nang Harbor and China Beach in the Republic of South Vietnam. Their base camp was overrun by the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) and the Vietcong (VC). After I was discharged from the marines, I felt I needed to get more involved in combat. I wanted to go back into the military to be placed into the “gauntlet of fire.” It wasn’t until much later that I realized I was struggling with PTSD.I joined the air force and, within a few months, volunteered for Da Nang, South Vietnam, near where a lot of my friends perished. I tried to inject a little humor in the work situation, but it was always misinterpreted. During this phase of my life, I had many close encounters, but God’s presence was always there. As I look back, I now realize that God intervenes not just in my life but in all of our lives.
