This book is a very personal account of my life during a two-week period in August of 2005. The timeframe begins one week prior to Hurricane Katrina, through one week after Hurricane Katrina battered the Northern Gulf of Mexico's entire coastline. The date was, August 29, 2005; the day that became my personal, "e;Defining Moment of Reference"e;.In this book, I will describe the heavy toll of the losses related to my personal relationships that existed at that time, the immeasurable gains of so many new relationships that were forged out of the unexpected human kindness, comfort and love that arose out of the wreckage, and everything that falls somewhere in between all of these things. I will explain how the decisions that I made during this time period, compounded and influenced by the arrival of Hurricane Katrina, affected my life, and the lives of so many people whose existence was intertwined with mine, including, before, during and after this horrific, natural and disastrous event.This is not a story "e;about"e; Hurricane Katrina, although the entire event is described in an incredibly descriptive way that will make you feel as though you are there, with us! I lay out some very personal and traumatic details within this book, but I also explain how many negative occurrences have positive counterparts that balance the scales of life, and I take care to tell about all of these things in very honest and explicit terms. I am sure that I will be judged harshly, by some, and praised by others, as a result of releasing such intimate details about who I am and what is important to me, in this book. But none of that matters to me because the story had to be told, and in this book the entire story is told!

And Allen had two partners in his company who might have had issues with him.Amy was not confident that any of these people would have killed Allen based on those motives. She was also uncomfortable about the note left under the body but couldn't pinpoint exactly why. Would the beautiful and vivacious detective be able to find the key to solving a case that seemed unsolvable? This book began as a personal history of my business endeavors, experiences, and accomplishments but somehow got sidetracked. The interesting characters, incidents, and situations that I witnessed along the way completely overshadowed my original intent. I believe that many of us have a threshold at which it would not be wise to be tempted especially when the odds of being found out are between slim and none.I pass on my observations, experiences, and thoughts as they pertain to the subject as well as other random and disjointed musings that might, I would hope, be enlightening, entertaining or, by some stretch of the imagination, have some redeeming quality.

The reason for me writing this book is so that you would know how to forgive a person for the horrific things that they have done to you. As a child and teenager being bless at the end that still loving your self and being thankful for the children you have.At twelve, I was told by a doctor that my womb was damaged so bad that he wasn't sure if I was going to have children. Years after this, I gave birth to seven children-five boys and two girls. I lost one of my children in 2014 to sickness, and he died three days before his twenty-third birthday. I've been through a lot over the years, but I never let it get me down. I look up to God through it all. I have seen the people that hurt me and have forgiven them for me and not for them. I love my mother and forgave her. I understand not everyone is able to take care of their children. No need to take on a job you can't handle. I raised my children with love and I also tell them to never hurt people and the ones they love.If any of you are going through what I have been through, please get help and don't let this break you down. Seek therapy. Never stop loving yourself and stay strong and loving. You will be all right to the point where you will want to help others in a good way. I can say this because that's what I have been doing and I have people who look up to me, including my children. I am glad to be a blessing to someone.

In September 2009, my home for the past year was a no-tell hotel, so crime-ridden police were holding their nightly roll call in the hotel's parking lot. Police were called to this hotel over one hundred times just that summer. I came home my last day there to find a SWAT team arresting my neighbor for (armed) robbery in the drug store across the street. I moved out then and there, fearing for my safety. The only option available to me at the time was to put myself out on the street. Homeless Not Helpless is my true story loosely based on a journal I kept during my homeless experience. With my protocol and (good) plan, I rose from the hole I was in, with my goal being to move to Franklin, Indiana, to be close to my son, who was in high school at the time. The whole ordeal exacerbated my existing PTSD condition. Still, I hope this truly amazing story will inspire whoever reads it. I was inspired to create this book by the rock band REO Speedwagon's song "e;Keep on Rollin'."e; My mission statement is to give a free copy of the book to every homeless man, woman, and child I can find out there.

I created Myrtle the Talking Turtle as a throwback of names not very common anymore. I hope the reader enjoys this magical adventure story as well as the sequel series to follow!

It is written in the Bible that Andrew approached Jesus and asked Jesus to teach him. Jesus said, "e;Come with me, and we will change the world."e; That is all that Wayne wants, in some small way to change the world.

It was March of 2017, and I was about to close one of the biggest deals of my real estate career. This was a volatile deal. These particular buyers had already walked away from the negotiations four times, so nothing was guaranteed at the table, especially my seat, which was always the first to go.When you are about to close the deal of a lifetime, you are scared to death and somewhat numb. Why? Because you know that at any moment, your life could change financially forevermore.
