From First to Last"But now, since all restraint being removed, there was visited upon the downtrodden South, all that vile and malicious spleen, measures passed and brought to bear against a proud and valoureous people, too vile to contemplate and only could have emanated out of a heart blackened with sin and corruption, holding close communication with the devil and his unholy angel."From the book: "LIBERTY DETHRONED"Charles Montague Calhoun 1903This is a picture of my Great Grandfather, who was the first Monty Calhoun. I guess I will be the last. He was a great patriot that was twice wounded in battle during the War Between the States. He, and his father, Dr. Ramsey Calhoun brought the railroad to Greenwood, South Carolina and were the earliest settlers in that area. Earlier, in that same area, twenty two adults, mostly Calhouns, were massacred by the Cherokee Indians and thrown in a ditch. Nine children were scalped. This was known as the "Lone Cane Massacre." Maybe this is the reason that I've always had a great love for trains... and never owned a Jeep "Cherokee!"Glenn Beck and yours truly at his "Rally for America". This was back in 2003 which is exactly 100 years after my Great Grandfather's book. We provided 1000 "Patriotic CDs," at no charge, for those that attended. They went fast! Glenn has one in his hand. I really enjoyed meeting him. A fine young man and patriot.

Greetings, readers of the dark mysteries. Prepare to take your next journey into the realms of the imagination, where your logic will be challenged, and your perception will be altered concerning life, death, and reality.Rocky Earl Smith's Journeys into the Dark is an avant-garde collection of stories and poems that defies explanation and challenges readers' sense of place, time, and understanding. Each of these strange, mind-altering pieces is designed to reshape your beliefs in social and storytelling norms, shatter your perception of nature and reality, and confuse your very existence. With a bold storytelling structure that derails language conventions like grammar and punctuation, to step into these stories is to open oneself to the expansion of the mind. Whether they travel down roads of philosophy and faith, or they steer toward supernatural incursions into the mundane, they all center around shared themes of muddled boundaries-between the comprehensible and the incomprehensible; between life and death; between existence and non-existence. As Smith's deep and labyrinthine mind draws you further into its grasp, allow your own thoughts to explore, unravel, and ultimately be subsumed. Prepare your imagination for the voyage of a lifetime as you step into these Journeys into the Dark.

Pleasure and Desire: Minds-Eye is my way of giving all the married couples a shout out for being in a committed relationship through the good and bad times, but especially those who still believe in having an open and honest form of communication between them. Like the classic song, "Just Me and You" by Tony Tonie Tone, that's what marriage should symbolize. No one should be able break up a happy home and this book will make you think someone has broken this happy home, but all will be revealed at the end. Love will prevail. Also, this book will point out that conversation is very important in a relationship, even if it's about secret desires. My first book, Sexual Voyage: Exploration of Sexual Thoughts, depicts how having open conversation about sex can lead to different avenues of fun and excitement. Sometimes our fear holds us back from opening up to a person because you're not sure how the individual will receive what you are telling them. Yet, without clear and uncut conversation who knows what's going on within a person's mind. You both might just share similar feelings, but unless they are spoken there's a blank or question mark lingering over everyone. If love is present, then that should conquer any and everything else.Exploring new things doesn't mean go wild or be reckless, just suggest that keeping an open mind isn't a bad idea. My book is only a suggestive piece of what two people can look at for trying something new, without involving another person. Using your imagination and keeping things spicy in the relationship between the two of you is possible and may keep the fire burning.
